If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Perhaps the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is amazing - from what Ive heard thats true. Unfortunately, I will never know and this establishment has forever lost my business because they lack the ability to communicate. I had a group that was going to be traveling in and wished to dine at Farley Girls for their brunch. I started calling weeks in advance to talk to someone about reservations. I called the main line that is listed on their website throughout their business hours (differing times in case they were busy) on multiple days and not a single time did someone answer the phone. I also sent an email to the catering email address explaining my difficulty getting in touch and asking for help. No reply. I eventually sent someone who lives on the island to go in person to inquire - she was told the catering manager wasnt there but was promised the message would be passed on - I received no call that day. Called the next day and someone miraculously answered the main line - they were aware of who I was and promised I would get a call back that day from the catering manager - nope. The third day, I called again right as they opened, they placed me on hold and SPOKE to the catering manager (but didnt put me through) and I was told she was aware of my email and calls but just hadnt had time to call me. I was once again promised that she would DEFINITELY call me back that day. That day is today, its 6pm, and I have not received a call. I get it that businesses get overwhelmed during busy seasons and that stress falls heavily on the catering side. I get it because I used to be an events and catering manager for an establishment much larger than Farley Girls. Being busy is no excuse for not answering the telephone for over two weeks and not answering emails for three days and especially not following through on both in person and telephone promises that you would get back to someone for three days in a row. No, Farley Girls isnt going to go broke by losing me as a customer, but theres something to be said for that extreme lack of customer service. Shame on the catering manager for lacking those customer service skills. Hopefully the management and owners will be made aware of these issues and address them. Theres no telling how many other people there are like me and how much business they have lost. It would be a shame for a place this popular to have these poor experiences spread like wildfire and cause more people to stop using them for both walk- in and special event business.

Worst dining experience ever. My husband and I ate there for the first time, and if anything could go wrong, it did. When we arrived, it appeared that the restaurants computer system wasnt working and they couldnt take credit cards when you ordered. We stood in line, waiting, until someone finally took our order (about 15 minutes with only 2 parties ahead of us). The credit payment wasnt working, so we were originally told they would only take cash, then we were told they would come to the table to get our card and run it later. After finally placing our order, we waited 15 minutes for the food to arrive. When it did, we were told by our server that the cashier had put the wrong number on our order. Needless to say, my food was cold. I ate because I didnt want to have to wait any longer. Other than being cold, the food tasted ok. The server came to the table to get the credit card, and the restaurant held it for between 10 to 15 minutes while they continued to try and run the card through. This restaurant really needs to learn how to process credit cards the old fashioned way when these kind of unexpected emergencies happen, or at least use an app on their phones, like Square or Paypal. I will never eat here again due to poor service. It took about an hour, once we got there, to place an order, eat, and pay.

I remember enjoying my first time here, so was looking forward to trying it again. I was part of a group of 6, we ordered in pairs, so 3 orders in a row. My boyfriend and I were the last of the groups to order and they were out of all pizza, unfortunate because I wanted the Lox pizza that I had my first time and had fond memories of it. I went with the Kailua Sandwich as I am a pescatarian and dont eat meat. The first groups food came out quickly, the second group was not long after that, however my order took entirely way too long. Both other groups were finished with their food before ours arrived. I was starving, took a bite of what already looked wrong since my sandwich arrived on a bun when it was supposed to be a biscuit. I proceeded anyway and swallowed a nice bite of country ham, on my supposedly vegetarian sandwich. I was livid and complained to the manager, wondering if they input the wrong sandwich. She said they just made the wrong thing and apologized, said they need to get better with that what with such things as seafood allergies. That statement made me terrified for those who DO have allergies and the Cafes carelessness could seriously harm somebody. I wasnt even offered a refund or the like. If you like to be served in a reasonable time frame the food item that you ordered, then skip this establishment.

Amazing! Farley Girls has one of the best brunches in the Greater Houston area, not just Galveston. I had the OMG which is a huge pancake topped with gravy, topped with a great chicken fried steak, topped with two fried eggs. It was just outstanding. Whatever you get, seriously consider getting a side of the grits - these arent your normal grits. Theyre filled with mushroom and cheese and are more reminiscent of risotto. Theyre possibly the best thing on the menu, and I feel comfortable saying that while having had a very small portion of their menu. The larger grits dish is also very good - but is a little different, with more of a lemony flavor. Also good, but not as good as the side of grits. Park in the lot behind the cafe, order at the front, get your parking validated when you order, and then they will bring your food to your table. Get in line early because you never know when a group of med school students are going to pile in.

Farley Girls has a variety of tasty food options with an all day breakfast set of items as well. I tried the Roast Beef sandwich (Sliced Roast Beef, Arugula & Garlic Herb Cream Cheese on a Homemade Bun) with a side of fries. It looks tasty on the menu but when I received it, it seemed a little dry and not very flavorful. The fries were perfectly thin and crispy, however. I originally wanted to try the Eggs and Mushroom and Gouda Grits, and perhaps Ill go back and get that next time. My friends Chicken Fried Steak looked really good and he even said it was so maybe its just my particular order, so Ill definitely give it another try. As far as the restaurant its spacious and clean and the wait staff was friendly. They also have validated parking in the lot next to the restaurant so you dont have to hunt for street parking.
