The ice cream at the shop is great and the environment is wonderful. The young adults there work very hard. The most disappointing thing about this business is that certain of the young adults were never properly paid for the hours they worked. The owner was never up front to workers about what might be viewed as training time and how they would or would not be compensated. My son filled out an application and never heard anything back after he turned in his application and met with Tom. Just because these young adults have special needs doesnt mean that they shouldnt be shown the respect of proper hiring practices. It is ok to tell a special needs person that you cannot hire them at this time. The owners communication style is very unimpressive with the parents of these young people. As a result, you be the judge of the businesses you support. We wont be back.

I stumbled upon this little gem by seeing a billboard advertisement off of 35 and Empire Central. Unbeknownst to me, Howdy hires young people with Down Syndrome and other disabilities to represent his store. The young man that greeted me was just as sweet as can be. He allowed me to try a couple of samples and I chose the cheesecake ice cream, which was delicious. I respect and love what Howdy stands for so I will be making this one of my favorite ice cream stops.

Absolutely a wonderful place! Andy was so kind and very helpful! The Hot Tamales flavor was so good but I had to settle for the Birthday Cake today! Does not taste like your typical Birthday Cake, it is a perfect blend of actual cake and ice cream without the synthetic flavor!!! LOVED IT. The whole experience for myself was beyond perfect. Highly recommend! I will be back and with more ice cream lovers!

Went yesterday with my girlfriend to try the ice cream out at this place. We enjoyed our time there, the place felt family oriented, which we loved. I am glad we found this place. We are definitely coming back multiple times in the future. It makes me happy to know that such a supportive place exists where everyone is treated as an equal. Many businesses should take a page from their book.

AMAZING! The ice cream was creamy and delicious (you really should try the avocado ice cream, its unlike anything youve had before). Part of their mission is to intentionally hire mentally disabled adults and I love that! The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was easy and rustic. I will definitely be returning for more of that avocado ice cream soon!

We had an extended stay with a sick child at Childrens Dallas. My wife loves ive cream, so I found this place to have a brief escape from the hospital atmosphere. The people inside were so kind and truly made us happy to be there. The ice cream was the best weve ever had. The coconut and chocolate Dr. Pepper was incredible! We will definitely come back.

Shop run by special needs people, such a great philosophy! Ice cream is wonderfully creamy, with fun favors like Dr. Pepper chocolate chip, Hot Tamales, and Cookie Monster. The owner and employees practically shove healing samples down your throat. It was all delicious! Well priced, great atmosphere, and will be a repeat customer for sure!

Absolutely unforgettable!! I love how this business is ran. Everything is absolutely the best. Hands down. My heart melted walking out instead of my ice cream. The best customer service in the world! Friendly service and REALLY yummy ice cream. My son loves the Cookie Monster with some edible eyes. My favorite is easily the chocolate peanut butter with Reeses pieces (swoon). We just moved in the neighborhood and its a new favorite! Its open later, until 10p. Its well kept and clean. Support local!

It is hard to describe how great Howdy really is. The ice cream is by far some of the best - if not the best I have ever had. The Dr Pepper ice cream is a favorite, with the right amount of flavor and sweet. The staff is incredible and always helpful. Worth the drive for the ice cream.

Best dessert in Dallas. I can tell that they like giving mentally handicapped individuals jobs there and they’re always nice and helpful, they’re also accompanied with a non-mentally handicapped individual in case they need assistance . The place is safe and the staff is friendly.

This place is amazing. My wife and I showed up before they opened and they let us come in early. I think we ended up trying almost every flavor, all of which were great. In the end the Dr. Pepper chocolate chip was our favorite. Great people and ice cream.

I have never been! I just saw the segment on Texas Country Reporter and loved it! I was a Special Needs Bus Driver for 12 years and love the fact that these young adults are given the chance to shine! I wish there was in the Woodlands area!
