I took my wife here on May 12th for her birthday and had a great time! The food was amazing, the beer was great, and our waitress Jennifer was wonderful! For starters, my wife had stuffed mushrooms and said they were good. I had tomato bisque soup, and it was great! I tried several of the beers, and all were good. I also found my first German beer that I actually like...very good!! We split the Grilled Chicken Penne Pasta, and it was so good we wanted to eat the dish it came in!! We then ended with dessert - Crème Brulee - very good for a Crème Brulee!! One of the best I have ever had! And finally, there was our waitress, Jennifer. She was very nice and helpful. She was fun and always smiling. She brought us some beer samples since we were not sure what we wanted. Then, she made good recommendations for appetizers, dinner, and dessert. She laughed and cut up with us just a bit to make our evening very enjoyable. Afterwards, I found the manager to give her kuddos and found out it was her first week on the job! She was so wonderful. Great place!!

Phenomenal! When my parents come up to visit, they will NOT leave without having Sunday brunch at NXNW (Im not a breakfast-food person in general, but their dinner is AMAZINGGG!!). Best things on the menu? ROASTED GARLIC BUTTER BLUE CHEESE MASHED POTATOES & ROASTED GARLIC BULBS! Some of my favorites: Smoked Salmon Pizza (salmon, goat cheese, capers, red onions, & field greens), Cedar Plank Salmon, Asian Chicken Salad (not German of course but great!). For dessert, Crème Brulee is heavenly! Oktoberfest is SOO fun as well!!! SO so fun!! The hostesses are dressed up as beer girls, there is live music, and tons of fun. My parents also fill their giant beer growlers and take them home to ferment? However that goes.. Anyway, their beer IS amazing!! The dark ales are to die for. Mimosas and Bloody Marys are good! I am 2nd generation German-American, and it is nice to have a place around that has a great German feel. It really does. Beautiful and fun! :) Not to mention delicious! Buy the memorabilia too, its super cute.

I have a feeling Im going to be a regular at NXNW. The beer is exceptional and the food holds up to the craft and care placed in brewing production. I love the design of the interior, which is warm, inviting and matches the vibe of the food and brew. The reproductions of Hitchcocks North by Northwest posters from all over the world are a nice touch. We sat at the bar both times and had the same waitress. She wasnt overly friendly or chatty, but was nice enough. I like chatty bartenders, I guess, and think that a warm personality to match the surroundings would have improved my experience (though I acknowledge that may be my preference and nothing more). The hamburger here is one of the best Ive had and recommended with the blue cheese. Yum. Good fries too, well prepared and perfectly cooked. They have a Garlic seasoning applied to them, which I will ask to be more lightly applied next time I order (it was a bit overwhelming and too abundant both times I tried the fries).

Been visiting NXNW for many years and was pleasantly surprised to see a few new items on the menu. Stout Stroganoff was a little salty but still delicious with a good balance of meat, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The new Fish & Chips (Mon night special) was a great addition to the menu. The fish (Cod) tasted fresh and served with plenty of garlic parm fries. The half pound angus burger is one of the best in town. Get it cooked medium with bacon and Huntsman cheese (blue & cheddar blend) and youll thank me! Its $12.70 with bacon but enough to split with someone (suggest adding a side salad). The calamari hasnt changed, still a great appetizer to share. They now have fried oysters(!) but were out the day we visited. The new kale arugula salad is a welcome addition with tasty beets, sweet dates, corn, feta cheese and a light vinaigrette. I dont drink much beer but my husband can attest that their beers are always good (he gets his growlers filled there).

What a shame! This used to be one of my favorite spots. I drove out of my way today to pay my respects and enjoy some great brew. The weather was nice so I decided to enjoy the patio. I told the hostess, who promptly brought mea menu and and my server would be right out. When the waitress finally emerged, she spent about 5 minutes chatting with the table to my right (which had already been served), cleared their plates and started to exit, passing right in front of me. She asked another couple who were just sitting down if they had been helped, at which point I clearly told her that we had not. She took the other couples order and left. So far as I know, Im neither a ghost nor invisible... but that was pretty strange. After 20 minutes without any service I finally left. This used to be one of my favorite spots and Ive hosted quite a few gatherings here, but I dont think it is a place I can recommend anymore.

Ive been many times to nxnw and today I came to the realization that nxnw does no longer value customer experience. Not a single time did the waiter ask troughout the 3 courses if everything is ok, make sure that everyone of the 6 ppl has silverware or make sure that water refill is provided within a reasonable amount of time (15min to get somebody pay attention and refill) when the restaurant was nearly empty. We had to get silverware ourselves from other tables more than once because not a single staff member would pay attention. If it had been my birthday dinner I would be even more disappointed than I am already with the performance. Sad to see another Austin business turn their back on customer experience while trying to maximize their profit. Well done...NOT

Overall great experience. Im not a fan of their appetizers. They only have two that Im interested in and those two both contain seafood - Im not often in the mood for a seafood appetizer. I typically get the half chicken - which is always tender and moist with a great balsamic sauce on the plate to accompany the mashed potatoes (picture submitted). Its enough food to share if going as a couple. The fruit crisps they offer for dessert are also large portions and I take half of that home for later. I dine alone often and the staff typically leave me alone and dont pester me every possible moment during dinner/feel the need to announce every thing they do which is nice. I dont drink liquor when I eat. However, a few of their brews are pretty tasty.

When looking for food on the Uber eats app, I came across nxnw, I saw the rating at 4 stars and seeing as how it was close by I figured I would give it a try. We ordered crab cakes, chicken penne pasta, and fries. I was seriously disappointed. The pasta was bland and slimy, the crab cakes were under cooked and the fries were just plain dry and un seasoned. The food was grossly overpriced for the quality. The only reason I am even giving it two stars is for customer service, my food was prepared quickly and I received a refund after being unsatisfied with my meal. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone, at least not for food, save yourself the money, save your Taste buds the disappointment and save your body the stomachache!
