I was in a party of around 20-25 folk in the pool room. Everyone goes on and on about how much fun the place is... No. We arrived when there were only 10 of us. When I asked the waitress for a drink suggestion (it only took her 20 minutes to come ask what we wanted) she huffed at me, yanked a menu from a neighboring table and tossed it in my general direction. I ordered a coke. Said coke took 30 minutes to appear. My husband and I ordered food, or attempted to about 30 minutes after the coke appeared. He had to stand by the door to the pool room and wait for her, we timed it. 45 minutes before she reappeared with more drinks. When my husband tried to order as she left the room again, she didnt acknowledge him, she waved him off. So he went and found someone else to take the order. 25 minutes later, the waitress returned to tell us they were out of everything we ordered, except what wed ordered for an appetizer. Which was in. It took almost another hour to place a food order with the absent waitress, still no appetizer. Our food finally came, in another 45 minutes, and was cold. Still not appetizer, it came 30 minutes after our cold food. Now, had this been a busy night, or a singular issue, it could be written off. But there were 4 waitresses, a bartender, and a manager on staff that night. Several people from my party went out and checked regularly, there were never more than 3-4 tables and no one at the bar. This is also not the first time weve received similar service. It seems that since parties of a certain size get 20% automatically added the waitress simply doesnt care to serve you. As far as the food, its basic simple pub food, which isnt horrible, but it isnt great, and most certainly isnt worth the price tag. The pool tables can be entertaining and I understand theres a wide range of drinks... but youd likely die of thirst waiting on one.

So, in order to avoid high parking fees, and long waits, my friends (+/- 10) went to Flying Saucer for the wind down of my birthday celebration. We staggered our arrival because we all drove separately. When I arrived, they had gotten a great table and I was expecting a really good time because they werent very busy at all. Well that didnt mean a damn thing. The server was MIA for the duration of our evening after serving each of us one beer. Therefore, we moseyed to the bar to do countless shots. Each one of my friends wanted to buy me a shot. After a certain amount of Redbull, you just have to change it up. One friend and I requested a Roy Rodgers with a whiskey back/shot. Thats all folks - a cherry coke with a sidecar shot of whiskey. The bartender told us he couldnt do that, but that they "have cherry vodka." What kind of bartender doesnt know how to make a cherry coke, and pour a shot of whiskey, but then offers a Cherry Bomb as a resolution? Not a good one. When we returned to our group at the table we found that the server had given us each a beer, some food here and there, refilled my friends Coke, and "politely" brought our checks without request. I assume it was a shift change, and instead of communicating she just basically booted us out by ringing us up. I would never be allowed to that where I sling booze. We wont be back.

Follow up review: They listened to their customers and fixed their deficiencies. Their food is back to being great, although I preferred the original menu. Their bratwursts are very good and the lunch menu hits the spot. I will definitely be going back again! Follow up review: They renovated and have been open for a month now. This is now the 4th time I went back since they reopened and I continue to get bad food. Today I got "The Duke" and it took them a half hour to bring the food when there were less than 10 customers when we walked in. The fries had no seasoning and tasted bland. I asked for no tomato on my burger and the waitress delivered it and repeated my order. I took off the bun and sitting on top was a tomato. I took half of my burger with me to go. When I opened the burger to reheat it, I noticed that one of the pieces of bacon looked very under cooked (it was raw and I made sure to snap a picture of it). I have been hoping it would get better because the waitresses keep blaming the food on the new menu. Well, I think a month is more than enough time for the cooks to figure out the menu. Also, you cant blame under cooked pork on not understanding the menu. Original review: Great food for lunch. I have yet to find something I dont like. I would like to go there in the evening to experience the different atmosphere.

On October 10th 2010 my group of friends and I went to the Flying Saucer like we do every second Sunday of the month. We got there around 2pm and started to drink and eat like normal. Somewhere around 3-3:30pm we were approached by a woman who identified herself as Brandy the General Manager. She then proceeded to yell at us for cuddling up on the couches, told us we werent welcome, cussed at us and all but told us to leave. She proceeded to throw down a coaster that had the company website information on it so we could file a complaint and walked off. Several members of our group tried to get her to come back so they could talk to her and figure out what happened but she refused to talk to anyone. We asked our waitress what was going on and she said she had no idea and that she loved having us there. And I dont know why she wouldnt. We come in, stay for hours drinking and eating and between the 15-30 people who usually show up, spend a great deal of money. We all paid our checks and started to walk out and Brandy was standing by the door and as we walked by made a point to say "Oh and youre not welcome back." This experience was completely ridiculous and I cant understand why any of it happened. But needless to say, none of us will ever be returning to this establishment with management like this.

Fantastic service, food, beer selection, atmosphere, and staff. Its got it all. The combination of lounge, table, and bar seating allows for you to come by with the guys, bring the wife on a date, or hangout with friends or people you meet in a comfortable and inviting way. Ive read negative reviews, but they held no merit both times I had gone. The first night I came by after they stopped serving food but they got me a couple of dark beers and free popcorn that made my night. I came back a couple of nights later and was able to order the German plate. My wife, being born and raised in Germany, let me know that other than tasting good, the warm potato salad and wurst that you snap into means it is authentic. I sat down and had received my drink, food, check, and card back within 40 minutes. Enough can not be said about this place. I only hope you take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time.
