I went nuts and rated everything Excellent. Why? Because that was my personal opinion. Sure, the building and overall interior decor is a bit lackluster compared to the more trendy coffee spots in town, but it was full of character and evoked a very earthy Portland or Seattle coffee shop vibe. Very at ease and welcoming, but best of all lacking any pretense. No signage sporting the Best Coffee or any ego driven mantras. This place is ALL about the coffee. The beans are roasted in-house and youre hit with the most intoxicating aroma as you walk through the door. The Batistas are friendly, experienced and helpful, not visibly annoyed by my barrage of questions and willing to make sure I got what I wanted. The Cuban is just spectacular. Its a very unusual drink in that its made with sweetened condensed milk, espresso, and steamed milk. Dont add a thing to it! Just sip and enjoy. The quality of the espresso is, in my opinion, the best in town. Not bitter at all, just a very smooth, flavorful roast that is absolutely brilliant. Cant say enough good things about this place. For me, personally, this is where its at. LOVE it. If youre a coffee person, try it at least once. Worth it for sure.

Driving from St. Louis to Asheville we decided we needed to find a local non chain place to get coffee. Using that criteria Crema was only 5 minutes off of our route right along the river front downtown. As soon as we walked in we knew we had made the right choice,; from the fresh roasted smell to the all natural sweetners to their zero waste compost station everything, even the drip coffee of the day, was very high quality. We got the drip coffee of the day, a Masala chai (made locally) which had a punch of spices like cardamom and ginger, a springtime quiche with roasted red pepper, artichoke, leeks and fontina cheese. They wrote our correct names down and pronounced them correctly when calling our names out. Also bought a bag of roasted coffee. The sign by the door says the House Rules which includes No Awkwardness and I could say I felt very welcomed by the place and the staff

Im sitting in the parking lot typing this out sipping on the pour over Columbia blend and im so jazzed about this place and their beans! When I first pulled up and stepped out of the car I could smell the beans roasting in the air and I can say that theres nearly no other aroma as good that. I ordered a cappuccino and an Estrella Del Ostra Columbia pour over, which in my opinion is the only way to go if you cant get it pressed. I can definitely taste the brown sugar. Theres no need for extra sugar as its naturally sweet and citrusy with an after taste if brown sugar. The espresso was smooth, rich and bold not a hint of bitterness. I wanted to jump for joy when I left because I feel like Ive found a spot! I am so happy and excited this place exists. If youre into Artisan Micro roasting this is a get coffee here. If your Starbucks lover you need to ditch the S and try Crema!

This is my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. Ive only ever gotten an Americano and a latte here (I know what I like ok) but I can tell the people who work here really care about what they do and know what theyre doing. The Good: Great atmosphere. Quiet. Plenty of seating (including outdoor). Good views. Fast service. Friendly staff. Affordable. Oh yea, and they make great coffee. It would be a good study or reading spot if thats what youre looking for. It pretty much has everything you would want in a coffee shop but doesnt cost you an arm and a leg like some other coffee shops in town (Ahem, Barista Parlor). The Bad: Honestly, no complaints here. They do roast their own beans but they come at a very premium price. Thats to be expected, however, so I cant really complain about it. Also, if youre not a fan of the new light roast trend, this place may not be for you.

If you are a coffee snob like me, you must try Crema. I worked as a professional coffee roaster for years, and part of my job was to taste coffee. Ive actually had coffee tasting training, but you wont need it to tell that these guys are serious--make that fanatical about their coffee. Your espresso shot will be perfectly tamped and topped with gobs of the shops namesake crema, and your latte milk will be silky smooth and poured into a beautiful design, i.e. a Rosetta. This is hard core coffee, folks. The food looked nice, too, but who cares. I had a bagel with cream cheese, and it was fine, but next to the espresso perfection in my cup, it really didnt matter. They offer two types of espresso. I recommend the one with the Ethiopian Harrar in it. Chocolately, spicy and mystical, it will elevate you to a higher plane. Cheers!

Recently traveled to Nashville for work and found Crema online and thought to give it a try. It was an absolutely amazing experience thanks to the staff, specifically Francesca. I saw they had a geisha coffee and wanted to try it. The coffee was fantastic. Everyone should try these rare coffees when they can. Francesca made me my cup and stopped back to ask me how I was enjoying it. I really appreciated her conversation, knowledge, and willingness to explain to me what I was drinking and how special it was. I wish I wasnt leaving Nashville so I could go back to try other drinks on the menu, but I will be ordering their coffee online for future purchases. If you want to experience great coffee and a phenomenal customer experience, I highly recommend going to Crema in Nashville. Hopefully Ill be back again to stop by one day.

Went here for the first time this morning. Im the chef in a neighboring restaurant and have driven by Crema every morning now for months while always saying, "I need to check that place out". My wife and I were driving by this morning on my way to work and realized we hadnt eaten breakfast, so to Crema we ventured!!! My Cuban was the best coffee drink Ive had in Nashville. The beans are not over-roasted like the other popular local coffee roaster in town. Balance in flavor, feel, and acidity was perfect. We were met at the door by a lady that asked if we had been to Crema before. She was super helpful, made recommendations, and made us feel very welcome. The service and product sold at Crema is top notch and I highly recommend them. Thank you for a wonderful start to a dismal morning!

I was in Nashville for a few days recently and was really impressed with CREMA. Their espresso was well-balanced and flavourful with great presentation, their pour-overs were excellent and their food (muesli w/ yogurt and berries, avocado toast, quiche) was fantastic and reasonably priced. It was so good that over a four day visit to Nashville I ended up there five or six times. The staff were great too. The only puzzling thing was that I brought a bag of coffee back home (Finca Dragon Red Honey) and the roast profile is much more dark and "roasty" than what they were serving at the cafe, masking the great flavours I had previously enjoyed. Perhaps just a rogue batch? A bit of a disappointment, but not enough to keep me from recommending this place very highly.
