My husband and I checked out the Saucer for the first time since it has been renovated. Im happy to report the outdated "Catholic School Girl" uniforms are a thing of the past, as well as the funky smell that haunted this bar for the last few years. Theyve done a nice update throughout the bar. There are now booths in the dining area, more TVs and new high top tables. The pool table is gone and the dart boards have been moved to another area. The menu has changed slightly: Theyve added more burgers and have done away with their pizzas. It also looks like theyre trying to bring live music back to the Saucer - which is nice since theyre so close to Beale street. Overall, the renovation has brought good changes, but the bathrooms are still gross.

We usually have a great experience at the Flying Saucer, so thats why its getting 4 stars. Our most recent visit, however, was a disaster. The waitress continuously got our orders wrong, for starters. Then, 4 beers in a row that we ordered from the "best of the best" section of the menu, she claimed they were out of - after going to the bar to check each one individually, of course, adding 5min per request to our wait. I understand that bars run out of beers. But 4 that we asked for in a row? Either Flying Saucer needs to get their act together, or the waitress wasnt checking anything and just lied. Either way, it added to an overall bad experience at this Flying Saucer this time.

After several years of being a patron at the saucer, I have found it to be a wonderful place. The servers are top notch, friendly, and very knowledgeable of the supremely deep beer selection. I have always enjoyed the Bratzel, but have had several other items on the menu and found them to be quite good. The only times when you may have to wait a little longer is during the Grizzlies games, in which the locale becomes insanely packed pre and post game. I highly recommend for tourists and locals alike.

Funky, fun atmosphere with an awesome beer selection complete with explanations for different types of beer, perfect for a novice such as myself. Its actually the first place in Memphis Id have readily returned to had I found out about them sooner! Glanced over the food menu and it seemed decent though I can only speak for the beer menu. Anyone interested in both learning a bit more in addition to someplace with a really cool, rotating menu of choices should definitely check this place out.

They have a vast amount of beers to choose from and delicious food. The waitresses there are very kind and service is great. When I would go there with friends we felt as if we were at home. They also have dart boards and a pool table if youre interested. If youre a person who already likes beer and youd like to try different recipes from across the nation and around the world, this is a place you should check out. And if you arent that person, go anyway. Youll still have a great time!

Food wasnt bad, Service wasnt bad. but when it came to a small request I had, I give this place 0 stars. Ive worked in the service industry myself and Ive always been taught to never tell the customer no, and the manager told a first night server to tell me no. She didnt do anything wrong and the food wasnt bad but when it comes to upper level management they get 0 stars. If you want to eat decent food with a staff ran by a jerk than go here (which I absolutely do not support)

My favorite place in Memphis to grab a pint. Long list of beers on tap and a good food menu. Has a relaxed British pub atmosphere. You can really take your time here, no one rushes you along. Great place to take a break while visiting Memphis, grab a couch and do some people watching. 2nd location in Germantown is also good despite its strip-mall setting. Enjoy viewing the hundreds of nostalgic "saucers" attached to the walls and ceiling.

Its right across from our work and we come atleast once a week. The service is extremely slow and I dont think its fair to blame the waitresses. They seem hardworking but Im guessing management simply doesnt cares. Food is nothing great so beats me why they take 30 minutes for the servers to come over to desk and take orders. I decided to write a review after frequently visiting this place and they just dont seem to care.

No idea what the hype about this place is. Let me give you a hint. Most customers are 21-25 males, about 70% or more. Highly recommend not going at night as it turns in a frat fest and by no means in a good way. Also IMHO most of the girls are not that spectacular looking. Hooters girls look much better and Im not sure that is saying much.

My wife and I stopped by here twice on a vacation visit to Memphis. The beer selection is awesome. Just awesome. And the customized saucers on the ceiling and on the walls are inspirational. Food - not bad. Chatting with the bartender - good. Both times we went it was pretty open, so not sure what things are like when its really busy.

Tasty paninis and extensive beer selection. Beer flights are $10 and you can choose from different variety such as: Europe, Pale-Ales, Darks, or you can build your own. Location is steps away from Beale street and all windows open towards the street with seats under them. This makes for great people watching and ambiance.

I dearly love this place. The choices of beers they have here are amazing. The staff work very hard and have fantastic personalities. If they was not smack dab in the middle of down town Memphis I would visit more often. The precises are ok but not over the top. If going on New Years be prepared to pay a door charge.

I will not go back. The manager Kirk is just completely disrespectful and bragging how he is the manager and can do whatever he wants. I just wanted to get a burger for lunch, but as veteran I have never been so disrespected on Memorial Day. I will make sure the home office hears about this. #FlyingSaucerMemphis

Best beer selection in Memphis and that is the main reason to go there. Plus the beer goddesses. Prices are okay. Food is good for stuff that is just sent through a conveyor toaster. They no longer allow smoking of any kind, so no more cigar and beer at the Saucer. therefore an angry face for atmosphere.

We were overwhelmed by Beale street and wandered into the flying saucer. What a cool place! Drafts for daaaaays! Our waitress (Monica) was super awesome and is the reason (other than the amazing food and drinks) that were gonna stop here on our way back! Totally misjudged Memphis at first sight

the beer selection was certainly extensive, service good, and my Cobb salad was good...but in both our salads the greens had a lot of grit, like the greens had not been washed enough, or at all. And be forewarned, this place has no air conditioning. I cant imagine it in the summer.

Huge beer selection in a quirky beer hall. They have a late night menu that saved us from fast food. Good tater tots, in a cast iron skillet. Nice and crispy on the bottom. Our poor server was one person for the whole floor of folks, they could use some help with extra staff.
