I would actually give it 4.5 stars, but that is not an option so I give them 4 stars. Being someone born and raised in Louisiana I am always looking for restaurants that serve good Louisiana cuisine. I dont think any restaurant outside of Louisiana will ever capture the true taste of Louisiana cuisine, but they get close. Our table was a party of 6 and not sure if it was becasue it was a holiday weekend and not many people out, but we did not have to wait for a table. The atomosphere was great and we had a good server. We decided to order appetizers for the table and chose the NachOLA (server recommendation) which was amazing. I did not get the impression like others have in previous reviews that the chips were from the grocery store, but dont most chips come from some type of store? Anway, were were pleased with our choice. We also ordered the Fired Green Tomatoes and although they were good we all thought they were a little too think and would have preferred them to be a little more on the thinner side. All the entrees we ordered were good with the exception of the oyster po-boy. The person that ordered this entree stated to us the oysters were on the dry side and some tasted more like chicken then oyster. The most popular entree of the table which was one that I ordered was the Mac-N-Cheese Pie with Crawfish Etoufee. It was heavenly! It came with a choice of a side item, salad or veggies and it was too much food. The pie with crawfish etoufee was plenty. In my opinion, I would make the menu option to be side of veggies, side salad, or upgrade to side of crawfish etoufee for an additional charge. We were all stuffed when we left so we got our order of Beignets to go. If you like Louisiana cuisine I would give it a try, but keep in mind it is Clarksville, not New Orleans.

Facility and decor was nice! Hostess was friendly. My wife called at 5 pm to place us on a 2 hr wait list. Arrived at 7 pm only to be told I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes that turned into almost an hour. When ordering our drinks, I asked the waitress to sample a beer. She said "I would have to go upstairs to get you a sample". I ordered a different beer as to not inconvenience her. Ordered our food at 805 and it arrived at our table at 915. The jambalaya was stated on the menu to have chicken in it which it only had the smallest piece of chicken. This was pointed out to the waitress who stated "they make it in a large batch." Another member of our party ordered a burger that was extremely dry. The rest of our parties meals were also disappointing. Our waitress came to our table twice the whole visit. Had to ask a hostess for service at one point in order to refill drinks. Spent over 3 hours waiting on seating, food, and service. I wouldnt recommend to anyone nor will I be returning.

Had greater hopes for this restaurant as I love Cajun food. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. The food was mediocre, and the beer selection was sub-par. Server was friendly but lackluster. When I told her the craft beer she pushed wasnt drinkable, she tossed a beer menu down then walked away. She could have at least waited to take my order for a replacement. Selected an oyster poboy from menu. It was acceptable, though not overly ripe with oysters. The jambalaya was very bland. I didnt understand the 20 minute wait given there were empty tables. My wife ordered a margarita and it tasted horrible. We left $16 worth of drinks on the table. The increasingly common price gouging for drinks at restaurants these days is a whole other rant. I doubt Ill be back, which is a shame. Clarksville needs a better developed restaurant scene. Hope Roux improves and succeeds.

My husband and I had a great date night here last night. We saved our spot on the wait list before we left the house. We had a couple adult beverages at the Speak Easy, accessed from Strawberry Alley, and by the time we finished our drinks, they were ready for us downstairs. Even though they had a large party from another local event come in right behind us, we were served in a timely manner. All of the staff were very friendly. I loved the feel of the building, I just wish they played more New Orleans style music. I was expecting some jazz or big brass band! Not your average radio station music. Other than that, our experience was fantastic. I love spicy, Cajun food and they definitely did not disappoint. The amount of food you get is equal to the price you pay. And everything was decently priced. I would recommend to anyone.

First, let me say that I love any restaurant placed in a historic building. Very rustic. As far as food goes, I loved the corn dip appetizer but it came out a bit on the cool side. Jumbalaya was not great, but all the other food was phenomenal. Our wait was 2.5 hours before we got seated, but luckily we checked in online an hour and a half early, so only actually had to wait 45 minutes. Servers we expedient and friendly. I think some of the issues I had were due to the restaurant being in its opening week, and the demand for people to go there. Ill try it again once demand calms down. 4 stars given instead of 5 because of the cool food, but other than that a great experience.

Roux is well worth a visit. If you find yourself wanting to eat out for dinner in Clarksville it should be one of the first places on your list. Their menus is well sized with many different options all of which are excellent especially the boulettes. All of these things are decently priced for the area. It also has a unique atmosphere that definitely fits the cajun theme with exposed brick and a speakeasy style lighting and straight shot though the building. The room is narrower than expected, but this is dealt with by the tall ceiling and generally open design. All in all it would be an excellent location for dinner in Clarksville or even a date night.

This place is awesome. A nice location in downtown Clarksville and right across from the Black Horse. Its a nice area to take a stroll after youve eaten a satisfying meal at the Roux Americajun. The place has a nice settled vibe, welcoming you to spoil your taste buds. I couldnt get enough of the Boudin Boulettes. If youre unsure what to order off the menu, you cannot go wrong with the Bayou Sampler which includes a cup each of jambalaya, red beans and rice with andouille sausage, crawfish étouffée (my favorite) & boudin boulettes with French bread. And for after the mean, dont forget to order the NOLA Beignets, you would not be disappointed.

I have lived in Louisiana, so I have thoroughly experienced true Cajun cuisine. Roux is by far the best Cajun culinary experience you can get, short of traveling to the bayou. I had the trio including jambalaya, red beans and rice, and crawfish etouffee as the main courses and a boudin ball as a side item. All four selections were exquisite and perfectly matched the flavors I had experienced while living in and exploring Louisiana. The drink menu offered at Roux is eclectic and has some fun, tasty originals. The service was fantastic even with our large party. You cant go wrong with Roux!
