Please, ignore the children complaining they arent allowed to sit at the big table yet. This review is from a regular. Best dive bar in Columbia. Over 20 taps of craft brews changed on the regular. They also sell growlers at a very reasonable price. Prices are very reasonable, and there are specials all the time. This is a private bar, so if you arent a member or a guest of one, then you must become a member. It isnt expensive. They also have NTN trivia, and youll always find at least a few people playing before 10pm. There are also quarter tables, darts and theyve got a great custom-made shuffleboard. The late night crowd tends to be service industry people, and so while they get a bit rowdy there is rarely any trouble. If you like a loud, boisterous crowd, youll like it late. And when I mean late, they stay open until. Private bar, you know. Last note, when the Walking Dead is on, it plays in the bar, starting at 8pm (previous weeks show).

This place was introduced to me years ago as " the Cheers of West Columbia" and is a great little hole in the wall. Like mentioned before this place has over 20 taps and is a members only establishment but well worth the measly $3.00 member fee. The staff is extremely nice and more than helpful. Yes, this is a 21 and up establishment with no exceptions. Its not to be mean but this is a business and for them to be able to stay open and continue to thrive, State Street Pub does follow these law. Now, SSP may not be the most pleasing to the eye at first, but it will win you over with its prices, friendly staff and no drama atmosphere. Did I mention the building is over a 100 years old and used to be a brothel? Oh, I didnt? Well it is and the regulars can enlighten you on some of West Columbias extremely interesting facts. So come by and have a beer with us Happy Hour folks and bring your trivia knowledge with you. We will save you a seat.

They have the absolute best and friendliest bartender. The digital jukebox is on point. They could use a couple more pool tables and sticks, but the plus side of their small numbers serves as an one breaker for conversation and sharing with the other guests. And surprise surprise- the other guests are generally pretty awesome instead of the usual uptight/snobby/jerkish bar-goers. Somehow this place attracts mostly down to earth friendly local drinkers. Brace yourself for the bathrooms, but you already know how bar bathrooms usually are. I always leave this place feeling great and its not just the liquor that does the trick.

Absolutely awful. My boyfriend went to play a gig there (hes 18) and we called ahead and the person we spoke to said that no minors (under 21) were allowed, not even while being accompanied by a parent, and no special rules despite the battle of the bands type event. When my boyfriend asked if that would interfere with him playing, the person said no, he supposed that they would make an exception. After he spoke to them, he headed down to the pub and was turned away! Terrible service. Will NOT be visiting there again.

Best dive bar in Columbia (the Whig is a close second). Craft beer selection are prices are easily the best in the city. Pint night is Tuesday and it gets even better. Patrons are very friendly if youre not a dick. Dont expect a quiet polite crowd but you can expect to have some fun and meet some good people.

They should have it posted that no one under the age of 21 should be aloud in a place that serves sorry service. Let alone where theres trashy bombs that hang out at plus theres better pubs to go and have a good time at.

The only real bar in Columbia. Private establishment, and if you become a member you can smoke inside. Darts and billiards available, but bring your own darts.
