Stopped into this place on a recent Friday evening and really enjoyed the food. We had not eaten here for probably at least 4-5 years, but we had a coupon, so we thought we would give it another try. For me, I rate a restaurant on 3 criteria: 1) most important = food quality & flavor; 2) second in importance = service level; and 3) least important = ambiance/decor. My wife & I tried a couple of different dishes from their chinese entrees (tofu with vegetables and chicken with broccoli), as well as an appetizer of steamed edamame, and everything was very good. Vegetables were not overdone (common mistake) and the food was flavorful & fresh tasting. We enjoyed the edamame & the meals very much. I also ordered a tuna roll from the sushi menu, which was very good. Its a basic staple for any sushi place, so I would not expect anyone to have trouble with making a tuna roll. The service was excellent. They were very attentive, refilling soda & water glasses very quickly. Wait staff seemed to function as a team, where several different people were keeping up with us. Ambiance was fine - nothing unique or special, and nothing to brag about either. So if you are looking for some well prepared & flavorful food, in a restaurant with very good service, this is a very good option.

My boyfriend got sesame chicken. He said some of his pieces were soft and tender but the majority was hard as marbles, especially the coating which was very thick. I had green curry with chicken. The chicken pieces grossed me out. I dont know exactly what was wrong with them but I picked them out and didnt eat them after trying a couple. They tasted weird and had a strange texture. The curry was a little thin. There was a lot of thin red onion slices in the curry, which I found odd. I picked those out and had a really large pile of them. I would say I could have filled a quarter cup measurer with them. That is a lot considering that the bowl of green curry was small and mainly loaded with almost raw vegetables. The strings of red onion didnt belong in there to begin with and because of the way they were sliced in long strands, they made the curry difficult to eat and messy. There was also a large pile of barely cooked green and red bell pepper and greasy snow peas dumped on top of the curry. I found that strange, too. There was one tiny basil leaf sitting on top of that mess. It was the strangest thai green curry I have tried. At least the eggplant in it was tender and properly cooked.

Pros: nice atmosphere inside, good parking and location, really good food across the board. Lunch is pretty quick and affordable. Cons: carryout is a debacle. It seems to always take twice as long as they say and some food is very hot and some is not by the time you get it. There can be similar issues when eating in on busy nights. Sauces on Chinese food is a little thick. In summary, it is quite a shame that Wild Ginger cant get their act together on carryout and during busy nights. Would otherwise be happy to recommend them.

The sushi at Wild Ginger is excellent. The sushi is about the average price of $12 - $16 per roll, depending on the selection. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The sushi is generally quick to be made and delivered, but this quickness does not take away from the beautiful sushi placement on the plate. They offer good lunch specials if your looking for something other than sushi. The lunch/dinner dishes are decently priced and are good quality dishes.

Long time favorite, whether for a quick meeting, relaxing meal, or trip with friends. Service is above average; servers know my drink preference and have it ready and at the table, before I even order. I routinely order off menu items, and its handled in a timely and consistent manner. Vegetarian friendly, (Im vegetarian myself) and their tofu - no matter the variety - is easily the best in York, without question.

If you come in between 11 & 3 make sure you specify you want one of the luncheon meals. There are lunch portions and dinner portions. I neglected to indicate I wanted "Lunch" Shrimp & Garlic sauce with soup included for $6.99 and instead got the dinner portion for $11.99 + $2.00 extra for the soup. Im not complaining because there were 10 large shrimp and tons of vegetables so I have a full dinner tonight.

The food here is really tasty and the staff are really nice. The main types of food that they have isnt really anything different from any other Chinese/Sushi house but it is just made better than a lot of the carry out places. The environment is conducive to go sit, relax and eat in peace. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for some good Chinese food or good sushi.

What an excellent restaurant! Kind and courteous staff, a cute ambiance, and fantastic food. Its hard to go wrong here. The prices are also pretty reasonable, as well as the portions- a bento box has a main dish, sushi/sashami, salad, goyzo, and rice- for $10. My only complaint was the service, although the food was certainly worth the wait. In short, go to Wild Ginger!

Food was pretty good but the service not so much. Ordered a California roll which never came. Asked for a dish to have no mushrooms (Beef in garlic sauce) yup, it had mushrooms in it. The server seemed harried.

I went there recently and had the sushi. It was pretty bad. Spicy tuna is my favorite roll and when I got it here the tuna looked like it came from a can. I will not go here again...
