Ive been there about a dozen times over the past two years (2010-2012) and its been a hit/miss situation with almost all the times being a "miss." Out of those times, only one time was excellent where the food and service was excellent. All the other times, the food has been so-so at best and the service has been next to terrible. The women behind the bar are usually too busy chatting with friends and flirting with men at the bar to service the people in booths or couples at the bar. There are other establishments in the area that are far better. The Shack should only be considered a "last resort," and even then, try to reconsider. Poor service and mediocre food is not a good way to operate a business.

I love this place! I live in Slatington, and to me, it actually is a cute, quaint beautiful Victorian town. The Shack really is an unexpected jewel of a restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, at a reasonable price, and the atmosphere in the back is amazing. I always feel like Im on vacation when I eat back there. The servers are attentive and friendly, and the crowd is casual and relaxed. Try the burgers, the mac and cheese and the stuffed shrimp. All amazing.

The best place to go after you do some serious boarding at blue mountain. Dont think though youll get to be buddy to buddy with the locals. I imagine life is pretty hard up there and to them their town isnt cute and quaint. Its life, so be respectful. Tip well, and make eye contact and you should be fine. The cops are pretty brutal in the town as well.

Overpriced wings and poor service. How do you get off charging $1 per wing for wings the size of my pinky then an extra dollar for any sauce other than buffalo and an extra 50 cents for blue cheese and celery!? Rediculous Ill take my money elsewhere. Service is slow and inattentive as well. Monkey face is nice to look at though.

The Shack has the best food around and for very affordable prices! The inside of the bar has been redecorated to give it a more family friendly vibe. Construction has started on the outdoor bar and patio where patrons can sit out to enjoy a drink or a meal!

Never had a bad experience. We are here alot and owners are very friendly! Prices are fair and food is great. Love that its dog friendly in the back and they give back to local animal shelters. Thats why my family and I keep coming back!

Excellent wings, great variety on the menu. Small but good selection of craft bottle. Only reason its not 5 stars is because they had one waitress struggling to serve a Lot of customers so it was a bit slow. Worth the wait though.

Enjoy the old barn kind waitresses, selection of specials even that the bar is cash. Would recommend for a good draft, but sometimes not too easy to park on the street.
