Wow! I so wanted to love this place and was very excited to go, but this was a very bad experience from the beginning. Im surprised the place was decently full, because my experience was SO bad. We were missing one person from our party and asked for a booth, as there were many open, but the hostess said she could only seat us at a table or a booth not by a window until our other member joined us... Weird, but okay, and we just waited up front, no big deal. The next hostess who actually sat us was rude in that special kind of way that shows that she hates being there. When she took us to the table she just dropped- I mean literally just dropped- the menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. It took quite a long time for the waitress to come and take our order- we actually went to the hostess to ask if we could order but the waitress saw and came to our table, finally. Not that he hostess would have helped, she just pointed that the waitress had finally came to our table. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it came with unmelted cheese, an undercooked egg (it was all gooey), and on a burger bun which I thought was odd, but that part was fine. My homefries were cold so I didnt even touch them, but my friend said his were good. The waitress only came to drop off our food and check. No drink refills, no napkins, etc. Surprised by the poor service, but maybe the fact my group was younger lead to our poor treatment, as this place seems to cater to the 65+ crowd. Also, my friend asked for a bacon and cheese omelet and it came with a little sliver of unmelted cheese on top of the omelet... so bizarre. For the prices and the service I would highly recommend elsewhere.

Just my personal opinion : my "home fries": (which were more like hash browns) I must have gotten the part that had been laying on the grill for a while because they were very crispy and dark. My dining partner got a beautiful serving. Sad that if they really needed to serve over cooked "home fries" they couldnt have mixed them through with the other serving that come to our table for a consistent tastes and presentation. I do not like their breakfast sausage, enough said. Bakery items to go: canolies seemed to be a couple of days old. Shells were very soft and the filling was thick, not fresh! Chocolate cream puff: generously filled with cream, chocolate was tasty, but the pastry was hard, dry and tasteless. We also bought a whole coconut custard pie. Hope its better than everything else. HOWEVER, our waitress was excellent. She provided great service. We only go to this diner when we go to Fox-Chase Cancer Center, as we live in southern NJ, so will we go back? Probably. Its clean and the service has always been great. But I wont be ordering home fries or sausage and I will go the the local bakery when we get home.

Two weeks ago I called and asked what was in their vegetable wraps and cheese was listed. I ordered the vegetable wrap and came back three times and ordered a vegetable wrap. Today I go and pick up my wrap and cheese was an added cost. I told the women who was ringing me up and she was very nice, apologized for the mistake and took the cheese cost off. The manager than came over after I already paid and was about to leave and demanded I paid for the cheese. I was already rung up so I had to pay cash for the cheese because of the $10 minimum! I work right down the street and go to the Country Club Diner at least once a week. Not to mention I was told that it came with cheese and had the wrap with cheese multiple times with no charge. I was very disappointed in the rudeness of the manager and I will not be coming back. I will take my lunch break at Jakes Deli from now on... if you care about customer service you should too. (plus the food is better)

We have been going to the Country Club for over 30 years. The breakfasts are delicious and the specials are good. I find them very friendly and welcoming. We always request a booth and are told nicely when there are not booths available. We also make the decision to wait. The Chicken Pot Pie is one of my favorites. I am happy they dont over salt or spice as I like to add my own. If I have had anything come out that is not to my liking, I send it back with no problem. There are not many diners or restaurants in the area for eating. If this restaurant is so horrible with friendliness, wait staff and food I believe they wouldnt have the lines like they do waiting to sit and eat. I am not saying they are perfect, they have their bumps now and then. I also feel certain people want something to complain about no matter what. We will continue to eat and enjoy ourselves.

Very affordable. Everything Ive had here was delicious, breakfast, lunch and dinner. This review does not negate my prior experience, just an explanation of my experience... Went back with my kids today. My daughter ordered a cheese omelette. It was made with slices of American cheese and topped with a half slice of American. Still a cheese omelette but lacking in presentation, and taste. The menu is diverse, but they do not allow substitutions. I made the mistake in letting the kids order what they want and one kid order 3 entrees totalling $21 for her meal alone. After we ordered I heard my waitress suggest money saving ideas to her next table. Not sure why I didnt get the benefit of that advice. Because of my bill, and lack of interaction with my server, I will no longer spend my money at this Diner.

Pleace was great. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and on time when I needed them. Interior is a true mid to upper american spirit restaurant. Not to noisy, was nice to hold a conversation with out rising your voice. Pricing is a fair enough as well. BUT. Need to do something with a kitchen. Out of my simple breakfast, only 2 sunnyside up eggs was cooked right. My panfried potatos was mushy, tasteless and i could not finish it. Bacon was very undercooked as well. My overall impression of a place is very warming, and I will give it a second chance for a dinner. If I would like it, they would get another star.

The food is good, but I believe they are completely racist and disgusted with black people. The first host you come across when entering the diner, young cubby rosed face young girl didnt even greet me, just had a foolish smirk on her face, barely wanted to give me a menu... Then directed me to the wrong station to order my take out. She didnt say thank you when I paid for my food and was so not friendly. All the hosts and waitresses were like this. I hate to patronize but the only saving grace is their food. This is my second time coming and Im surprised they acted the same exact way.

I walked in tonight around 7pm. The restaurant is not very busy. Immediately the hostess grabs some menus and says right this way and puts in a booth at the window on the cottman ave side. I begin looking through the menu and about a minute later the hostess comes back and says " there is 2 in your party correct?" I say no. Just me. She then proceeds to tell me I cant sit there because those booths are not for single persons! Wont be back . Since when did booths get rules about how many people they can hold?!
