Good icecream but not dog friendly which is surprising because they claim to be Christians. I thought God put purpose, intent, and planning into all things He created. Knowing the nature of a dog and its needs then I am sure Gods intent for dogs was not to live in a cage and be bread for MONEY! Dogs are not cash crops!!!!!!! It is a shame they are treated as such. If this was Gods intent for a dog to live this way then God is mean. Samoyed dogs are devoted to their master, friendly, and love attention, so why would they be happy living in a cage!!!!!! They also have thick, heavy coats unsuitable for hot summers they originated in Siberia to pull dog sleds and hunt bear, they love the cold weather. Its a shame that people seem to think this is the only way to earn the almighty dollar by ill use of Gods creation. There are other ways to earn money.

Nice and family friendly setting. If you go there to spend sometimewith animals, see milking process that is great. However, their ice cream is no different than a regular store brand chemical soup. Yes it tastes great, but be aware of that you are eating also high fructose corn syrup, polysorbate 80, stabilizers and other additives. They can make great icecream just using their milk and cream, sugar and real fruit. An example is Bryers ice cream which is I call it HOMEMADE. Lapp Valleys ice cream is not home made. Nobody makes icecream using polysorbate at home and call it home made. This is kind of cheating and is not going along with the real Amish trustworthiness. Sorry. ( check the ingredients listed on the tubs in the freezer on the left hand side when you enter the store).

Excellent ice cream! Its a fun place for all ages to visit. There are always calves and heifers to pet, and if youre lucky it will be milking time and you can watch. Theres a lazy old bulldog and some cats who beg for ice cream (but please dont give them any). Like many places in Lancaster county, they are closed on Sundays. Its cash only but theres an ATM in the store. If youre in a rush or cant get out of your car easily, they have a drive-up window. Its mainly intended for locals picking up milk but theyll sell you an ice cream cone if you know what you want.

We are regulars after finding this place. Cute experience for the family. The open based dairy farm is fun for the little kids. You can watch the cows being milked, pet the cat and dog, chase around the peacock, and feed them all too. The dairy products are super good! The best in the area. Great prices all away around. The waffle cones are made fresh. If they could add chocolate to the peanut ice cream, that would be better, but its all great ice cream. There is a drive thru window if you want to just pick things up and not stop in. Cash and checks only.

Lapp Valley Farms is a great spot for the entire family to enjoy delicious, affordable ice cream made with milk from Lapps Jersey Cows. As they explain in a poster on the wall, milk from Jersey Cows is higher in protein, which makes for a different (and arguably better) kind of unique ice cream difficult to find anywhere else. Combine the great ice cream with a beautiful farm setting where visitors can pet calves and watch cows being milked and you have a perfect family outing.

I live in Kansas City and every time Im visiting family in PA I insist that we go to Lapp Valley Farms for some ice cream. Their Raspberry ice is easily the best ice cream Ive ever had. It extremely smooth and creamy. And I love that you can visit the cows and know exactly where the food (ice cream, butter and milk) comes from. Everything is fresh and delicious. The kids also love seeing the cows and peacocks and cats and dogs. It really is a fun outing for the whole family.

We have been coming to Lapps for years. It is an authentic Mennonite dairy farm. There are dairy cows to view as well as puppies, kittens, and the occasional peacock roaming the premises. Their ice cream is absolutely tops and their chocolate milk is like nothing you have ever tasted in your life. We normally leave with a cooler or two filled only with the chocolate milk. Its more like a shake than it is milk. This is a must visit place if you are in the Lancaster area!

NOTE: This establishment only accepts cash for religious/cultural reasons. The ice cream was rich, creamy, and they had a nice variety of flavors. I wouldnt describe it as being tremendously different than other ice creams one might encounter out and about. But, it is neat to know that the ice cream is produced directly from the Jersey cows they raise on the farm. They also produce other dairy goods as well. I would encourage at least one visit.

Best ice cream! God is love!! Update from 6 months ago. Still the best ice cream Ive ever had! Be sure to stop here. Someone posted about not dog friendly a while back. That review is not accurate! I take my dog when I go and the dogs and cats that live there on the property seem very happy, feed and content. Lets not be so quick to judge others. Matthew 7 Do not judge or you will be juged.

Lapps is absolutely awesome. Nothing like sitting on the porch on a hot day with the freshest creamiest icecream in Lancaster with their two English Bull dogs are snoozing along side your rocking chair while kittys play near by. Man it doesnt get much more relaxing than that, we sat long after our icecream was gone. They are such nice people too...oh did i say the icream is to die for?

Lapps has the best ice cream around and freshly made waffle cones. This is a great place to take the kids since you can wander around the farm and see the cows. If you get there at the right time in the afternoon, you can watch the milking. In addition to ice cream, Lapps has a variety of other products including milk (the chocolate milk is fabulous), cheese, and butter.

Great place for a family outing. I would recommend it not be the only thing you come to Lancaster for but its great start. Best ice cream ever, make sure you get an Espresso Milk Drink, super yummy. Bring a cooler so you can stock up on milk, butter, eggs and ice cream. Prices are very reasonable and the cows are friendly to pet, the dog and the cats even the peacock.

A Christian ice cream shop/farm that you may explore respectfully and observe, and even sometimes pet the farm animals! This was an absolute joy. Free parking, free admission to the farm, two scoops of freshly made ice cream with a home made waffle cone is $3.50 I have made this a tradition to come to Lapp Valley after every Sight and Sound show.

The farm is absolutely beautiful, and its far enough off the beaten track that the hordes of tour groups tend to steer clear. Their vanilla ice cream is simply perfect...Ive never had ice cream like this! They also sell milk products. Bring a BIG cooler and stock up before you leave. Youll never get anything like this in a supermarket.
