A lot of the waitresses here make the side salads with their bare hands, and also touch the bread that comes in the bread baskets, which obviously is very unsanitary considering that they handle money and God knows what else in between. I wouldnt put it past the cooks to be handling ready-to-eat foods with their unwashed hands as well. The owner himself is extremely nice, but his wife is one of the most disrespectful women Ive ever met. Ive overheard her talking poorly about her customers more often than not, which probably has a lot to do with why the previous owners(her husbands parents)dislike her so much. Along with the fact that she treats a lot of the newer waitresses there like garbage right in front of customers. The waitresses are poorly trained(even the ones that have been there for 10+ years), and obviously were never taught the appropriate way to handle food. So unsanitary. This place would be a lot more pleasant if Gretchen wasnt there with her poor attitude.

A journey to Bavaria right in Honesdale. Dining at this restaurant is a wonderful experience from the moment you walk into the nicely decorated dining room. Walls adorned with cuckoo clocks and more unique memorabilia. The aroma detected is a hint of wonderful flavors to soon be delivered to your table. The servers are adorned with authentic apparel that really complete your trip to Bavaria. When the apps are delivered the feast begins! Bacon wrapped Sea Scallops, Gebackener (baked Brie w/ cranberry apple chutney), Raucher Forelle (Smoked Trout Filet), and more. Delivery of the entrees... deliciousness continues... Wiener Schnitzel, Jaeger Schnitzel, Zwiebelrostbraten, Slow Roasted Smoked Prime Rib, Delmonico Steak, and a Cheeseburger for our grandson. The dessert tray from the Black Forest: Apple Streudel, Bienenstich, Chocolate Lovers, and the Prinzregententorte! What a tasty finish to a great meal!!! Bavaria is calling you, will you answer?

the meal I had last night (chicken marsala) was the MOST HORRENDOUS chicken I have EVER eaten. the chicken itself was like rubber and despite a delicious marsala wine sauce there was no covering the taste of that chicken. my husband and I have eaten here many times and food was always delicious, but I never had the chicken before we have only had beef or fish dishes...always excellent. I write this review for others so they dont make mistake of ordering the chicken marsala. I really feel it should be removed from the menu if this is the quality of chicken they get.

The Alpine is truly a fantastic place to eat awesome food or just hang out and enjoy the authentic German atmosphere ! It is such a unique, fun, cool place tucked into our beautiful town. The food is so good and you get a lot of it. The service is always warm, friendly and efficient. An outstanding place to bring your family or just pop by for a sandwich. My wife & I recently went there for Lunch. I was not disappointed, great beer selection, great food & good service with a smile! Atmosphere was nice & the deli next to it is a must!!! We got full in the dinner part & loaded up on supplies to make our own at home!!! We will be going back many, many times to come!!!

The first time my family and I went it was good. Our second a month later we were seated and ignored for over 30 minutes. Waitresses would walk by looking right at us and keep going. I complained and we got service. We should have just walked out! And theyre expensive!

Ive been here several times and everything has always been A OK Good food, nice atmosphere, and the staff has always been friendly and more than helpful. My one and only regret, is that I wish they had more of a selection on the menu.

Stopped in here to try their german good. Everything on the menu looked delicious. Ended up deciding on the buffet. All the sausages and prime rib were tasty. Potato salad. Soup. And more. So full after eating. But still had dessert.

Ive been going to the Alpine since I was a kid! Great German food with a very nice atmosphere. Staff has always been polite and fast. If you didnt eat enough in the restaurant then stop by their deli and get some to go!

Going on the third year that 14 buddies and I go there for a golf weekend. Steaks are preseasoned and fabulous. Incredible selection in the supermarket section for a complete and awesome meal.

A "one of a kind" kind of place. The schnitzel is great and the pork knuckle is equally fantastic. If open the store is worth dropping into, bring a cooler bag and some self-control!
