I really think that when people are writing reviews for dinners and other cheap eaterys, they are thinking too broadly and rating it against all restaurants in their head. So Squeaky Rail Diner doesnt get rated highly because of that. As far as diners go, SRD is great! Lets start with service: the staff is awesome. They are very friendly, stop by frequently, advise of specials and always have a friendly chat with most tables. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and the bathrooms are well cared for. For the food: when I eat at a diner, I dont have high expectations. They have great breakfast! Always willing to make substitutes, add options, and tell you the specials and how to compare them to other regularly priced items. You dont get a huge heaping serving you get just the right amount. Try the meat lovers omelette, its my fave. For lunch, my favorite is the chicken gyro. Oh my goodness it is the best! The chicken is tender and not chewy at all, its seasoned nicely and tastes amazing. I always ask to add feta cheese to mine since it doesnt come with. Never disappointed with this choice! My husband is a fan of the roast turkey dinner and he has raved about it in the past. Oh and the brownies are AMAZING! Get one to go!! If youre looking for inexpensive, good tasting, FAST food, definitely stop in. I highly recommend this place, as far as diners go. :)

Me and my husband came in at dinner time. He ordered breakfast and I ordered the half chicken dinner W/Mash Potatoes, stuffing and Corn. Although my husband enjoyed his breakfast, my dinner was one of the worse meals Ive tried to eat in a long time. The chicken had absolutely NO seasoning, the skin was rubbery (instead of crispy) and the meat was EXTREMELY DRY!! The mashed potatoes were clumpy and cold, and the stuffing was just a bunch of bread w/ celery and no seasonings!!! I really wanted to like the food but was EXTREMELY disappointed!! SEASONINGS WOULD HAVE HELPED ALOT!! The waitress was extremely nice and very attentive!

Got a take out order and while eating our dinner my daughter found a hair in her fries. Called them they only way they could fix it is if we brought all the food back for a refund. So we packed up our food and took it back. Manager was a moron all I wanted was a refund for the food that had a hair in it. We go here often since it is close to us. NEVER AGAIN. I will drive farther instead of dealing with this crap. Find a manager that can handle situations. Guess new ownership didnt really help this place. Such a disappointment the food and people were great in the beginning.

To finish my last post, the meat was frozen and tasted cheap, the burger buns were dry and the bottom part filled with juices/fat.. It also looked like something a kid would do. After done we just wanted to get out, the ambient was terrible, the servers were as bad so was the food. When we were paying the server that was with us tried to get us on a good mood by saying some awkward jokes trying to get us to tip better... Overall it was horrid and I wouldnt come back even if paid. I would pay to not go back.

Took my wife out for breakfast. Worst breakfast ever. Where do I start... Spoon cruddy, toast cold and stale.... Portions very small. Menu has a pic of sausage links but they only serve patties. No creamer on table for coffee, has to wait before finally getting up and having to ask for it. The sausage patti actually crumbled when you cut it (old like it was sitting there all day)... Save your money. This place is a flop!

Our family goes here all the time for breakfast on the weekends and sometimes dinner. Jen and Brandy are our servers of choice. The remember us and our order even if we go a month without. And on the random occasions we end up with another server, they always stop to say hi and play with our baby that they have been seeing in there since he was born. Great food... Great service... Great price and portions.

Good, down home cookin PA Dutch food. LOTS of it, for really good prices. If youre looking for PA style pot pie, this is the place for you. If you think a pot pie is a meat pie, you may be disappointed. Or pleasantly surprised; maybe try it out and see. The portions are gigantic. I ate my leftovers for 2 more meals. And the service was fast, friendly, and kind.

First time at Squeaky Rail since it changed from the Summerdale Diner. Breakfast was really good. Eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patty, and husband got a country omlette. The only thing we would say that needs improvement is the toast... it was more on the soft bread side instead of toastier, also couldve used more butter. Coffee was great, and service was good.

Since the makeover this place has lost the local friendly atmosphere it had before. The friendly staff has mostly been replaced and the food is exactly the same...breakfast is hard to mess up, lunch is ok and dinner is terrible. The evening staff pay no attention to the food they are serving...brown lettuce and almost rotten tomatoes seem a favorite.

Ive driven past this diner for years and it is ALWAYS crowded! I finally had the occasion to stop here for breakfast recently and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. I am knocking off a star because a refill of hot tea was not complimentary, which is something to which I am accustomed.

Dirty cups, dirty silverware and unruly wait staff. Food for the most part is ok. Though they dont know how to make poached eggs. When you order poached you get over easy. I can understand that some corners can be cut in a restaurant business but the Owner needs to take a HARD LOOK at what not to cross.

Employees were pleasant enough, and maybe I just had bad timing ,but I ordered my normal diner choice " I always try the Reuben" and The corned beef was so dry and tough that you couldnt even tell through the sandwich, you had to chew through it while it fell apart

Was here for Thanksgiving and I must say you get your moneys worth. Between my son, my wife, and I we brought home a to go box that was stuffed to the gills. Second year going there with the family and must say it is good food and very friendly staff.

The spaghetti and meatballs were horrible. We couldnt figure out what kind of meat was used for meatballs. They had no flavor. The waitress was nice and they exchanged the meal for another selection. I will give restaurant another shot.

Huge menu. I had high hopes as we generally enjoy diner style food. But nothing we ate was great (even the toast was not crispy?, my husbands Meat Lovers Omelet was more like a small scramble with a half plate of tasteless home fries

This is the best family friendly restaurant in the area. The menu has something for everyone. The staff is delightful and the food is fabulous. Great prices too. I recommend this for everyone.
