It was better than I expected from the exterior- it looks super dicey. The food is definitely better than expected too. They definitely put a lot into embellishing a simple dish. What ruined it- the restaurant had a very awkward 3 drink max policy (apparently they pride themselves on their martinis). After a very large food bill we invited more friends to join us as we were enjoying ourselves. So awkward and weird when the bartender wouldnt serve us original guests because we had reached their "3 martini rule". However the bartender told us if we "finished the nachos" wed be allowed another drink. What?! So awkward! A few people at the restaurant were surprised and laughed with us. Well never be back. For a person that can hold 3 martinis/ drinks (all of us at the time) after a full $100 meal, this is a terrible business policy. Good luck to you. Will never recommend to a friend or business associate.

My wife and I frequent Stemies 1818 at least twice a month. We both love the food and the atmosphere. The bar has a huge variety of martinis! Around Thanksgiving, they have a pumpkin martini that must be the best drink on the face of this planet. The bartenders (our favorite), servers, and the owner are very polite and welcoming. The first time we went to Stemies, the owner sat down and talked to us like he knew us both for years. The food is also wonderful. The chicken club salad with their homemade dressing has to be one of my favorites. I would recommend Stemies 1818 tavern to anyone who likes good food, and great people! Oh, and as far as one of the reviews giving them 1 star due to what was on the television; try asking politely for the channel to be changed, and see the result you get. Its hard for anyone to know what you desire when you do not ask!

Very friendly staff, but the place is small, so there is not much seating. Be prepared to wait on a weekend evening. It is a neat, rustic place. Id not recommend getting the pricier entrees. I had the Jack Daniels delmonico ($26) and it was just ok. Other folks in our party got the crabcakes, and again, just ok. Ive heard the burgers are very good, so stick with the mid-priced pub food. Salads & drinks were very good. Some of the folks in our group joined the martini club, and enjoyed them. Decent selection of draught beers.

I love the 1818 Tavern. So does my father. Whenever we go in for dinner, he always sees someone he knows; a friend, an old coworker, etc. The waitresses are pretty, friendly and always deliver great service. When ever I go in by my self for lunch, the bar tender Michelle always greets me with a smile. She always calls me by name and always lets me know which lunch specials are ready (sometimes i get there a bit too early and some the entrees are not ready yet). The food is always great and try the Chicken Chile! Its the best.

When was the last time you were in a pub and asked to sample one of the draft beers and were told "we dont provide samples"? Better yet, after a very nice meal for four including dessert for three, on the way oit I saw on the board that the beer I wanted to sample was on special to move it out for the season and was at more than half the regular price....hopefully this was an error on part of the staff and truly not a policy.....

I have been going here since I was 6 years old! Thats when my parents took me, and Frank& Pearl owned it it has been through a few owners since than, and Most had a fabulous menu ! And a taste to match! But not all! Now is a good flavor & menu, try it out! There used to be a creek running right out front and two trees in the parking lot that had clam shells all around the bottom! A place with quite a history!! Check it out!!!

Always an excellent place to eat, drink and mingle with the locals. Beautiful Tavern setting with nice exposed wood and stone and a big bar. In the winter the walk in fireplace is lit and looks beautiful! We like sitting at the bar to eat and chatting with the friendly people who work there. They make one of the best margarita in town and have a good selection of beer on tap. Love the crab cakes and fried shrimp basket!

The martinis are great! Like most mixed drinks, theyre a little pricey but UNLIKE most places, these drinks have a lot more spirits in them than mixer. And the variety of flavors is unrivaled. The atmosphere is intimate. If Im going for a night out bar hopping,its where I like to kick off the evening.

Food is good, drinks are a bit over priced. Dont accidentally forget any leftovers at the table, if u drive away and realize u forgot them, theyll b in the trash b4 u can turn the car around and go back for them!! I wouldnt believe it if it hadnt happen to me!!

Staff is friendly, very homey atmosphere, excellent food overall with one exception: BEST burgers in the Valley. Period! Theyre beyond excellent, incomparable! Perhaps one of the best burgers Ive ever had anywhere.

Bartender was nice. Martini was good but not outstanding. No wine list but only had one brand wine which was a low end type. I wonder if they have a Happy Hour? Their prices are all a bit high. Nice atmosphere.

This is an outstanding establishment to dine at. The food is great and the beer is cold. I have a 1 year old son and the tavern is VERY kid friendly. The owner is an amazing human being. I LOVE HIS KILT!
