Take this with a grain of salt because this was during a March Madness game, but it was extremely loud and clearly catered more to drunk college kids than anything else. Food took a bit longer than expected, and the beer "on tap" seemed to be from a can or bottle, just poured in a glass. The food tasted alright, but our wings were oddly shaped and while well cooked, still seemed off. This place seems to have artificially high reviews, so maybe I just dont "get" it, but it wasnt enjoyable.

I dont know where to begin with my praise for this tavern. Great food, especially on weekends, when the smoking pit is active. Great beer selection, including some great cheap options. Great atmosphere, at least if you like -- as I do -- a place at once comfortable, casual and, well, a bit of a dive. Good for families and date nights, especially on bingo or trivia night, and also just for heading out to watch a game.

The food is always good, and the service is pretty good to. Only complaint is that it is really really really loud you cant talk to the person sitting next to you without asking "What" about a million times. Fun place to visit great friend home town bar...you always seem to run into the locals at this place. I grew up at the BT - even underage - (Years ago) it was and still is a go to place if you visit the area.

Berwyn Tavern is great local bar and restaurant tucked away right next to the Berwyn SEPTA train station. They offer a classic grill menu including burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks and salads, with a standard bar selection and daily specials. They stream sports games on an outdoor projector on their open-air patio during the summer, and their staff is friendly and personable.

Its worth another try. New staff, new menu, new attitude, and new customers. The new staff now cares about the customer. The food has gotten a lot better and is now consistent. The customers seem to always have a great time. Try their outside bar, with a pool table, TVs, and whatever bean bag toss is called. Will I meet the person of my dreams at the BERWYN TAVERN?

Went to the BT last night, I had been to this place before but wasnt too impressed by the food or the service, these guys have really stepped it up. The drinks were strong ( like a bars drinks should be ) and the food was excellent!! Basic bar food menu, very reasonably priced. I have had a lot of "philly" cheese steaks but this place is my new favorite.

It has always been my dream to meet the woman of my dreams at the BT. One that I just couldnt live with out. I finally met an old sailor type lady who wined and dined me, and downright was nasty to me that evening back at her place. But she never did call me the next day. Just another missed love connection at everyones favorite watering hole.

Used to be a go to place but service and staff have gone downhill. Parking is atrocious. My fiance wasnt feeling good and only wanted a water while I had a beer. He refused to serve a water because there was alcohol at the table and when didnt have her ID? What a joke. Stay away from this place. Plenty of better bars in the area.

I like it when the manager of the place comes up and introduces himself and Joe does just that. This is a friendly, low-key place where you can get a sandwich and a beer for an inexpensive price. No snooty Main Line vibe at all. Hanging out on the outside deck in the back is fun and a great place to watch the Phillies.

I love this bar. Reasonably priced for a Main line joint; friendly the way real bars are (and in a way most are not around here). Great food, meaning, above all, the quality meats they prepare in the smoker out back, and great drink specials, meaning, if you want it, $1 beers can be had.

On the (very) short list of my favorite bars in America... and I seek out places like this about 200 times a year while traveling for work. Fantastic food, awesome staff, and solid beer/drink selection. Love this place. Thank me later - make it a point to go to the Berwyn Tavern.

The best bar with the best food around. My friends and I gathered there in 1976, and still do now. Theres a covered outdoor deck with a decent pool table and another bar - smoking is allowed.
