I really enjoyed this place a lot, and Im looking forward to going there more. Its not fancy by any means, this is a low-key place with a clear vibe that the owners enjoy working there. There was a man and his wife working there on the night I stopped by. They were both immensely friendly & genuine. I had a basket of fries and a couple beers for $12, and Im pretty happy with that. The fries were delicious. In short, cozy place with very friendly staff & fair prices.

Stopped by there after shopping and enjoyed the place very much. Owners were pleasant...fries made the old fashioned way NOT frozen! I also found the first hard cider that I liked! So for the first time I could join a friend with a pint! My only dislike was they cooked the fries in the same oil as the fish...being allergic to seafood meant I could partake in trying them. My friend was enjoying them very much. Plan on going again.

The Penguin Pub is the cornerstone for amazing cheap tacos, and ice cold beer. They do Karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays, hosted by Cooper. You come here for a good conversation and an afternoon with good people. Joe and Deanne are the nicest people in Portland and I have 0 complaints about their bar.

Really good dive bar. Some of the best french fries ever. Hand cut, big, long, somewhat soft delicious! If the rest of the food is as good this place should be zagat rated! (keep in mind its still American bar food) the bartender was pretty cool too

This place has a soul and is mostly attended by regulars. The Karaoke DJ truly enjoys doing what he does. The atmosphere is truly divey, pleasant and cozy. I wouldnt recommend the pretzels but you dont go there for pretzels.
