Maybe its just me, but I came here expecting good food and decent service at a reasonable price and was sorely disappointed. For one, the waiter acted like one of those snooty French waiters that you only see in movies. My Dad asked what was in/came with the crayfish etoufee and the guy got all indignant and confused. He seemed unable to do naught but disbelievingly sputter that its an ETOUFEE... I almost had it googled by the time he got out a coherent answer that didnt sound like he was offended that I was in his restaurant. Oh wait, thats exactly what he sounded like. Im sorry, I wanted to go to a fing brewery/pub and get a burger, not haute French cuisine from a stiff. On top of rude staff, it took more then 45 minutes to get our bread, which we had to ask for, and the booths are incredibly uncomfortable with 90 degree backs that then have a cushion high up that pushes you out, so its actually a negative angle on your seat back. I have a back injury and I cannot sit comfortably here at all, and even without the injury I would find these incredibly uncomfortable. No luck getting moved, either.

Golden Valley Brewery has been a favorite of ours for a number of years. The dining room is open and inviting with nice low-lighting suitable for a good dinner. The bar area has lots of table seating with just a few choice booths. The menu has changed subtlety over the years but with enough consistently to be familiar. The burgers are good as is the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The nachos are a delicious appetizer large enough for three or four people. Golden Valley used to offer a fantastic sausage and cheese sampler with the most flavorful sausages this side of Oktoberfest. Unfortunately, its no longer on the menu. Please consider bringing it back -- even seasonally.

Was invited to meet at this restaurant on April 12th 2016. Showed up at approx. 1:00 in the afternoon. Had no previous experience with this business. I was told that everything on the menu was great. You know how you just get tired of eating burgers all the time. Well, I was in that mood. Went with my friends suggestion. "PORK SCHNITZEL Hand-breaded Carlton Farms pork loin pan seared with brown butter and sage, served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.." (Borrowed from their menu.) So glad I stepped out of my self imposed box..on what I generally will eat for lunch. Good selection of Craft Beers. Would I go back?? Absolutely.

In an entitled world were a server thinks just because they serve your meal they have earned a 15% tip it is nice to know that there are still servers that know the meaning of customer service. My wife and I were there with our 18 month old daughter for our 6 year anniversary and though I can not remember our severs name he has been by far one of if not the best server I have ever had from his recommendations to verifying everything to the simple chore of keeping your water full on a 105 degree day. The service was impeccable! ! The food was pretty darn good too okay it was damn good. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

This place used to be amazing, it really did. But every time Ive gone here, it has fallen from grace and now, the food is just garbage. I had the pork schnitzel, and it was swimming in several ounces of liquid butter. When I bit into it, more butter seeped out. I was so disgusted with it that I couldnt finish my meal. The poor waiter said that the chefs say that is how that dish is supposed to be cooked, and I strongly disagree. I feel bad for the guy, that he has to lie to customers when the food is bland and greasy. I am sorry to say that I wont be back. GVB, youre just not your old self.

We went to the Mothers Day Brunch today and had Pierre for our waiter. It was the best brunch weve had on both coasts--there was a tremendous variety of excellent food -- all at the right temperature. Pierre was a top notch waiter who kept our coffee and tea water filled without our needing to ask. There was no sense of hurry nor waiting. All of the staff were friendly. We eat out several times a week and have brunch often--this is a place well take our friends without hesitation. And they even gave each woman a flower today and offered a free drink!

We arrived to the establishment at around 130pm. We were seated quickly in the bar which wasnt full but did have one large party and a few couples. Only after 10 minutes did our waiter come and deliver menus to us promptly left. 5 minutes later he took our drink order. Another large party sat down. 5 minutes later they were served water and orders taken. We sat another 10, still no drinks or water or waiter. We left. Its one thing when its very busy but it wasnt and its annoying when a large party who arrives after you gets service first.

This is a brewery that I daresay does a better job at being a restaurant, and that says a lot, because the beer is pretty dang tasty. Take your date, your grandparents, your kids... the atmosphere and fare are appropriate for all. From a perfectly cooked burger to a meatloaf better than mother used to make, there is something for everyone on the menu, served by a friendly and sometimes funky-funny staff. This is my familys go-to spot for every occasion. Hint: If you like steak fries, this is your go-to spot, too.

The menu looked promising but the food took a long time to arrive and was average at BEST. The corn chips were straight out of a Lays bag, though the guacamole was not bad. One of the sandwiches -- supposed to be hot -- arrived cold with soggy fries, and was just stuck under the grill for a few minutes to warm it up, which didnt really help. They comped us that one, and apologized. But the staff didnt seem to be able to cope with the number of guests, and were mostly inattentive. The beer was good, though.

A walkin on a Monday evening. Immediate seating. The chicken pot pie was killer; flaky filo bread crust with an awesome, not overly salted gravy. Surprised to find chunks of zucchini in with the celery, carrots and potatoes. The wife had the soup and salad. The broccoli cheese soup was good, but undersalted. The soup had no chunks of broccoli; more of a pureed consistency. The beer was not sampled...too much wine tasting prior in the Great Oregon Wine country. Viva la Pinot!

Golden Valley is a great place to grab a burger and a beer in McMinnville. A very solid brewery that keeps their offerings fresh with seasonal brews. I love their burgers, especially the bleu cheese burger. My wife loves the oyster sandwich. Fries are solid. The interior has a nice feel. The atmosphere is family friendly and its not a bad spot to catch a game. There are a bunch of solid restaurants in McMinnville. This is in the top 5.

The food is considerably better than your average pub fare, and the atmosphere is pleasant enough but quite noisy. On Friday nights it gets crowded and too many people bring in small children for this to enjoyable anywhere but in a booth. The beer is ok but not anything to write home about. The service is often a bit slow but friendly. Im not sure why; perhaps they need more help in the kitchen.
