Great food at a reasonable price! The pulled-chicken barbecue sandwich is better than most I have ever eaten at establishments holding themselves out to be dedicated to BBQ; the portion of chicken is generous, tender, but not overcooked. The sauce itself is tasty, but not overwhelming the chicken. This delectable combination was served on a very nice Brioche bun and not a cheap piece of bread full of air. My wife had a Hawaiian style grilled cheese sandwich and a tomato bisque that she liked equally well. The grilled cheese came out perfectly toasted...I actually thought to myself, "Thats beautiful!". I tasted the bisque and it ranks high amongst any I have eaten. Bottom line is this...these are friendly people that love to cook. You can see (and taste) the attention to detail. So, if you are hungry after a day of kayaking out on Stone Lick Lake, take the short detour to have some lunch at this fine establishment...you wont be disappointed.

Great Place, amazing food and atmosphere. A far drive for me wont lie, so was kind of upset that they were closed on Saturday and they didnt post it anywhere that they were closed... :( They had a privet party in the back, and a very nice fat-boy parked out front, loved the bike. But otherwise, this place is great and prices are very reasonable, with live music from local bands and artists this will remind you of a 1960s cafe. Recommend it to everyone, wont be disappointed.. might want to call to see if open if its a far ride for you.

amazing little place. sitting at plain folk sipping coffee and listen to some folk music (baez and alman brothers sweet melissa at the moment). back deck for sunning yourself. granola pancakes or veggie omelet w jalapeno? I dont know. son likes hippy hash w extra bacon. ive been here later at night and its more of a music scene but in the morning it is a little more gray haired but also with packs of bikers (bicycles and motors) intermittently. very very cool vibe. he is a busy hippy today.

Cant say enough about his place! Surprise gem in the middle of nowhere. Great food and drink, super friendly staff, and oh the live music! Music is central at this place, they foster local artists and celebrate the live performance. If you want football, stay home and watch TV. If you love local live music, come to plain folk!

Weve been going to Plain Folk regularly for three years now. Started taking our son there as a 6 month old. Now hes almost 4. Food is phenomenal. Music is great! John and Vicki and the rest of the staff are friendly, like family. Friendly atmosphere. Playground in the back. Two thumbs. Absolute try!

One of, if not THE best live music venues in the tri-state. Pure listening room. No T.Vs or other distractions. Attentive, appreciative crowds. Excellent food,great service. John and Vickie run a first rate establishment. As a full time working musician it is nothing short of a JOY to play there!

I saw bluegrass near Loveland on city beats and figured Id give it a try. Its a drive for sure, but theyre so welcoming I was totally comfortable walking in by myself knowing no one. The food was good, the music was great, and I really enjoyed myself. Ill definitely go back!

What a friendly place to eat - and reasonably priced. We have been there for breakfast (loved the Hippie Hash) and lunch - lots of great grilled cheese sandwiches. Only thing we have missed is the live music and we look to catch some great Bluegrass music later this spring.
