You have no idea whats going on with this place until you walk inside, great family place and great ice cream!! we had blueberry pancakes and tried several others that are good (avocado vanilla, etc) ,dairy and nondairy options available. They have a great sign that gives flavors of the week, problem is that it is only INSIDE, and the majority of people notice this place by car traffic on Madison. As a marketing person, I would strongly advise the owner to replicate the "flavors sign" and put it on the Front Window (maybe a cool chalkboard?), more people would notice this great place and see all the great flavors available, 24/7; Madison is heavily trafficked during the morning rush hour by car! Take a page from Malleys playbook, they have a huge sign outside noticeable 24/7 that attracts customers, and Joys is Better!

Not only is the ice cream delicious here (balsamic vinegar in ice cream? Sounds bad but tastes AMAZING!) but this place goes above and beyond for their customers. My friends has a child with a severe immune condition that means it is impossible for him to eat at restaurants. After hearing about it the owner found out his favorite flavor and made a special sterilized allergy free batch and my friends toddler was able to eat ice cream with his friends for the first time in two years. I can say enough about how great these people are. Please, support those who care for our community!

This is such a cute place! Theres a kids area with playing and coloring, and kids can add any of their favorite sprinkles (they have 5 or 6 to choose from!) Great vegan and vegetarian options, local resources, home made and handmade items and if you stick around the store they have super cute art work and some other items from locals too! This place is amazing and you must try. They also have interesting flavors and will let you try a sample to see if you like it! Highly recommended!

This is a great ice cream shop with inventive flavors. I sampled a bunch of flavors of ice cream & sorbet. I wound up getting a scoop of melon sorbet & another scoop of blackberry lime, both were amazing with excellent texture & robust all natural fruit flavors that really shined through. Everything I sampled was great, definitely making another trip with some friends. There was a nice selection of vegan flavors as well which I didnt get a chance to try, they also seemed inventive

Our favorite ice cream! Try to visit every time were in town visiting family. Love the unique flavors. Best aspect of the artisan ice cream is: I can eat it! I am lactose intolerant and have learned that they use natural dairy products here, low vat pasteurized, non homogenized milk. If youre lactose intolerant, you have to try it to believe it and enjoy some great real ice cream thanks to the care for premium ingredients here at icj !

I brought my kids in to see what they had and we ended up chillin for quite awhile. Amazing ice cream & coffee in a variety of interesting flavors. The woman that helped us was awesome. They are well prepared for the younger patrons with a kids area full of books, crafts & toys for them to play with. All told it was an awesome experience! By all means make this a place to check out alone or with your kids!

Fun, friendly, and an overall great experience! If youre looking for unique, creative, and delicious flavors, Ice Cream Joy is definitely worth the stop. Its honestly very hard to choose a favorite flavor because all the flavors are my favorite! The bowl club is an adorable idea and also allows others to help another local artist! Cute, adorable, and I am a frequent customer! Spread the love! :)

Here you can get some of the most original flavors of ice cream, and they are really tasty. Go in twice in a week and you are likely not going to see any of the same flavors. Please note, these are not standard flavors.. You come here to enjoy the uniqueness of flavors. Sweet Potato Cayenne, Blueberry Balsamic, etc.

Perfect portion for a quick breakfast but with tons of flavor! Very friendly staff and a few samples of the crazy vegan Ive cream flavors and you would never guess it was vegan, not to mention how well the flavors mesh. Definitely worth the parking ticket because I lost time talking to the staff and trying flavors, doh!

Fun vibe, owner seems to be a big proponent of local art so theres a variety of art placed around the store. The ice cream was good though people should know that Joys is known for its eclectic flavors so if youre one of those "I only eat vanilla" people, you might want to bring your own Klondike bar.

This is my daughters favorite place to get ice cream. She loves the unusual flavors they offer such as cantaloupe cinnamon. All of their ice cream and treats are vegan as well. I find the texture to be a little different for my tastes but I havent been disappointed in the flavor.

Unique ice cream shop with other delicious items - brownies, muffins, shakes, and coffees. Cinnamon & Oatmeal Cookie Dough ice cream is a great option. Staff seems very nice and this place is kid friendly. Another great addition to the Madison Revival!

Always good, never the same. Marissa has a lot of curiosity for trying adventurous flavor combinations and loves getting feedback. Youd be cautioned against getting too attached to any flavor because the menu is always changing!

This is a little neighborhood gem. They unique flavors like avocado lime and goat cheese balsamic fig! And the little play area for kids is great for entertaining my 1 yr old while I enjoy my ice cream!
