Ingredients are subpar; they try and rely on sauces, oil, vinegar, to cover up for this fact. Both times I been there they added an oil or a sauce that I explicitly did not ask for (maybe not on purpose, maybe they soak their ingredients in it), but I did not enjoy the sandwich either time. The orders being taken were done courteously, although some lack of understanding of the software on how to do special orders was there. By subpar ingredients: the meats are fine quality, no problem here. The tomatoes were very soggy, the red onions were and lacked crisp, the lettuce looked and tasted a bit too old. The overall blend of the sandwich was heavily lacking in taste; an equivalent sandwich at a chain such as Jimmy Johns had a better flavor, at less cost. Totally missed the mark here. If you like wet sandwiches and dont care about the quality of the base ingredients, you might like this place. If youre a more picky eater like me who insists on avoiding oils, sauces, and vinegar, and prefer higher quality ingredients, avoid this sub shop.

CLEVELAND PICKLE, YOURE THE BEST. And fear not, fellow pickle-haters: You need not love this shops signature food to love this shops food. Anything made with pickles can be made without pickles, & some of the ingredients that include "pickle" in the name are not, in fact, pickles, but rather cleverly disguised names for certain sauces, relishes, etc. The staff is friendly & happy to help you work through the menu to figure out what youll like best, even providing a menu that has its top three bestsellers highlighted. Im a big fan of the Payne Avenue Panini - though Id call it a "hot sub" before Id call it a panini - which features Asian-inspired flavors: pork meatballs, radish relish, cilantro, carrots, adobo sauce, lime.... HEAVEN. Also, its enormous - as I gather all their sandwiches are - so itll either keep you full or feed you for two meals. Their sandwiches are pretty messy, so frankly, theyre better eaten in than taken to go, but whatever you decide, youre probably going to leave happy.

We went there for lunch friday September 11, 2015, the sandwiches were delicious, but what we notice was the owner Josh was making sandwiches with gloves on, great I thought....and with those same gloves he helped the cashier with whatever her problem was...he wiped his hand on his apron and continue to make sandwiches, then the phone rang, he again wiped his gloved hands on his apron, answered the phone, when he finished the call he laid the phone down on the same counter where he prepare all of his customers lunch, I whispered to the cashier what we just witness at that time, she replied "WELL ITS LUNCH TIME AND WE REALLY BUSY " did she just really say that....WELL I TOLD HER WE WILL NEVER BE BACK......I know anytime you eat away from home you take a chance, but if I see it thats when I have a concern.....

The service was horrible. I placed an online order, went to what I assumed was the pickup counter as it was an open counter immediate inside the door, and people working there blatantly ignored me. At first I thought they were just busy, until the guy making sandwhiches came to the counter to do something and purposely looked away from me. Second, when you order a sandwhich called "Classic pickle" at a place called "Cleveland Pickle" with "pickle" in the description you think "This is perfect because Im in the mood in for a pickle." And when there is no pickle and you email them, you certainly dont expect to be told "thats just a name" and "maybe read the menu next time."

Theres a sign on the register stating that they would prefer cash because of the fees on credit cards. Since that doesnt deter everyone, the employees intentionally shut down the credit card reader so that people have to pay cash instead. If you go to this restaurant and the card reader is down. It is because the owner chose to shut it down so that you have to pay with cash instead. It isnt a one time mistake, it is a frequent decision. The owner, Josh, then decided it was a good idea to try to harass me rather than improve his business practices.

If you find yourself in downtown Cleveland and want a delicious lunch then look no further you have found a hidden culinary masterpiece. This sandwich shop managed to get it right. I ordered some deviled eggs and got the Cardiac Kid (a reference to "Elvis" and it is a banana and peanut butter sandwich. The price is great, and the ingredients are fresher than most other sandwich places (think the opposite of chains like Quiznos and Subway). It may be a bit pricier but in the end your taste buds will thank you for the orgasm you gave them.

Went there before an indians game. Their employee was very polite and friendly. He definitely made our experience memorable. A little tiny inside but we found space for our group of 6 to eat. Has a great atmosphere and great food! Tried the Blazin River and would definitely order it again.

Very Cleveland. Friendly owner - great with kids. Yummy sandwiches with creative menu, unique condiments, local flavors. Fun and creative artwork. Have kids count how many Cleveland Pickles they can find. Small eating space with stool seating only.

Really excellent sandwiches, if youre looking for delicious lunch downtown this is your place. Thankfully theyre open on Saturday 12-4pm now so even those that dont work downtown can get a West-sider or classic pickle.

The sandwiches here are great. They are quite large and have plenty of meat and condiments. They are a bit pricey at about $10 a piece but they are well worth it.

My order was wrong and the owner refused to refund my money. GrubHub reluctantly agreed to cover it since Cleveland Pickle didnt take responsibility.

Best sandwich in Cleveland. No question. Located next to the city club, their city club sandwich has a sweetness you shouldnt pass up.

Expensive for a sandwich shop, but pretty good. We sketchy about $40 for three sandwiches, three bags of chips, and two drinks.
