We place a to-go order an hour in advance. We arrive and they havent even started on the order yet, typical loser restaurant. But the most fun was seeing what we got when we came back...#1 The salads consist of 92% lettuce and 8% other ingredients. I can make a better one at home. #2 the shrimp salad came with 3 shrimp and 2 TAILS ONLY on the shrimp...yes thats right, only the tails. Thats laugable. #3 the asian bowel spicey peanut sauce was nothing. I mean absolutely no taste what so ever. No salt, no seasoning, nothing. I felt like i was on a diet. On top of that they only put like 3 tbls of sauce in the whole bowel. Have you ever had rice noodles with no sauce? *sigh* So to sum this up. DONT GO HERE go to Heinens and make a salad there youll have better luck.

Last time I went to Cafe 56, the cheese on my sons quesadilla was not melted at all and the whole thing was pretty dry and did not taste like anything, not only a kid, but also an adult would eat. This time I got a Turkey-Avocado sandwich. When I inquired why there was no avocado on the sandwich, I was told that the mayo-looking thing (tasted just like mayo, too) on it was supposed to be the avocado spread. The manager offered to put actual avocado on it, to which I said "Sounds great". However, when I unwrapped the sandwich 2-3 minutes later, I discovered that the avocado was mostly brown. Sitting-of-a-shelf-for-weeks kind of brown. Needless to say, next time I will probably go to either of the cafes next door. Too bad - their orzo salad is pretty tasty.

I have NEVER been so disappointed in a salad in my life. We wont be back. I asked for take out and the person preparing the salad and one other kept looking at me as if something was the matter. I should have stopped and looked at the order (shame on me). I got home and the balsamic reduction was so thick that the lid stuck to the top of the container. I had to rip the top cover in order to get off. I could NOT even take more than one bite as the balsamic reduction was burnt and so sticky that it stuck to my teeth like toffee. WONT BE BACK! That is really too bad as we have been customers for over 14 years.

I have been going here since they opened. I love that they offer a wide variety of salads and dressings, and that they offer extra toppings as well. When they started to let us customize our salad, I was the happiest person in there. Where else can you get french fries on your salad and not have people look at you like you are crazy?! Their dressings are amazing. Salads are always fresh and clean. The salads all come with a salt bagel, which I really enjoy. The staff have always been friendly when I have been in there and the atmosphere is pleasant. I have never seen anyone unhappy in there.

Okay, this place is actually really nice. People are complaining about "slow service" but Ive worked behind that counter. The process to make some of these salads are not easy. People ask for steak and grilled shrimp. WE HAVE TO ACTUALLY GRILL THAT! And it doesnt cook in 4 seconds. Theyre so ungrateful. You can get a discount for pretty much anything... Bringing in receipts, being in the military, even if you work at CVS. Many more too. Would I eat there? Yes. Would I take my friends there? Yes. Are they disappointing? No! Only to the impatient, disrespectful people.

Our work orders from Cafe 56 from time to time. Two out of five times they got my salad right. I feel the workers there pay little attention to what they are doing. Including once when they forgot both the dressing and the grilled chicken, leaving me with just a bunch of lettuce in a bowl. When I did obtain a salad from them, it was decent. Thus, they get two stars instead of one.

This place is great, and it should come as no surprise that it comes highly recommended from everyone I know. They have a tasty and healthy menu which people can try (think wraps). And for those of us who are gluttonous you can opt for a sandwhich/burger and fries (their fries are AMAZING). Definitely a great alternative to Subway.

Honestly, I LOVE this place. The food is always amazing. I have been going here since they opened years 13 years ago. I can honestly say I have NEVER had a bad meal here. It is always AMZING and they always have a great and fresh alternative to the fast food crap. I love it and tell everyone I know to go there. CAFE 56 ROCKS

I had high hopes for this place. 56 salads. Sounded great. Healthy and tasty lunch option. Wrong Our salads were full of wilted lettuce. Chopped up core of something you should not eat. See-through cucumber slices. Ok, the meat was tasty, but that was about all that was good. Pass on this one

LOVE IT! the best place to go for a great salad. I have been here numerous times and each time i still stand and study the menu undecided because everything sounds so good...i just cant decide! I think that salads overall are a little overpriced but none the less, it is a great place to eat!

They have the best salad selection here. Many seafood varieties. Try their Gump Shrimp Salad with 5 different kinds of shrimp. However, the service can be poor and sometimes it seems they are ignoring you.

How excited was I to learn that Cafe 56 has the same owners as the old Pewter Mug!!!!! Today for lunch, I had the Pewter Mug salad. I then ordered another to go for my wife for dinner..... Yip-EEEEEEEE

The food is good but for a casual lunch place, you should not have to wait 30 minutes for a salad or a wrap. This has happened to me at least a dozen times. Good food, horrible execution.
