My Wife and I recently went there for our Wedding Anniversary. I was referred to WF Maxwells by a coworker, and I figured we would give it a try. The reservation process is very simple. They have a nice website where you can make a reservation and chose your time. Once I made the reservation online, I had an email from a manager within 8 hours confirming my reservation and welcoming me to their establishment. This impressed me, and it made me feel at ease at going here. Our reservation was for 6:30pm on a Tuesday. This was a Tuesday during the Big Iron Convention, so it was rather busy. We were promptly seated by the hostess, and within two minutes of us getting seated we were asked what we would like to drink, and the extended Wine list was brought to our table. Upon looking at the wine list, I realized this must be one of the most, if not the most extensive wine lists in the area. I was very much impressed. There was a variety of selections from across the globe - I was pleasantly surprised when I found wines from Australia and Chile on the list. Whoever picks out the wine knows what they are doing. After my wife and I ordered our drinks, we ordered an appetizer of the BBQ Chicken and our meals. The app was brought out within a very reasonable period of time considering how busy they were, and the main course was fantastic. The steak I had there ranks on the top three steaks I have ever had in my life! It was cooked perfectly, medium rare, with juices flowing throughout. There was no steak sauce, no additional seasoning needed. This is the way a steak should be cooked! Whoever cooked it is a master at the grill, and I bow down to him. My wifes meal was just as perfect, and was tasty and masterfully cooked. For dessert, we ordered the creme brule. This was perfectly cooked, and made for a highlight of the evening. Overall, the portions are excellent, and even though the server was a little slow at times, it was rather busy and totally understandable. I can tell you it was worth the wait, and we will be going back here in the future. The food is simply too good to pass up!

Seems like it might be a good restaurant. I wasnt allowed to find out. Although limited seating, there were plenty of tables open. They had menus in their hands and ready to seat me when I told them I was a party of one. Then they back peddled and told me I would need to sit in the bar. Im here on business. Just me. I just wanted to sit down and have a nice meal after a long day of travel. Im not about to order a $47 entree sitting on a bar stool waiting for the bartender to come out from behind the bar to help me. If youre a party if one, youre definitely an inconvenience to this establishment.

Food and waitstaff are very good, but I agree with others comments, if your by yourself, plan on eating at the bar. They really dont seem to want individuals eating there. Maybe they havent learned that an individual who gets treated well usually knows others that they tell about their experience. Their website clearly says "Restaurant Friday and Saturday 5pm to 11pm". But if you go there at 10:15pm all they will sell you is bar food even with all the kitchen staff there. Who goes to a nice place for dinner just to eat "Bar Food".

The Max Bar is such a nice place to start an evening. The atmosphere and the staff make the experience one I will never forget. The beer selection is amazing! Anything from IPAs all the way to their tap selection is fantastic. The Sunday Brunch is another favorite of mine :) The pepper-crusted Ribeye and the deserts are phenomenal! Obviously, Fargo Moorheads best rated restaurant it just does not get any better when you are talking about affordable fine dining. Thanks Maxwells!

Food was AMAZING!! My fiance is the kind of person that inhales his food, and this food actually made him slow down and enjoy every flavorful bite. It was a party of flavors in my mouth I wanted to savor each and every morsel. This is what food from a Chef tastes like, and the higher prices are more than worth the experience. I would recommend it any time, but for me, I will probably keep it to special occasion situations only! (Need to save $ for my wedding) <3

Cant say enough good things. Food was excellent, service was exceptional. Big enough list of craft beer to find good pairings with each course. I had the prime rib and portabella chowder, followed by the peppered elk streak with port wine cherries and chocolate chip banana bread pudding topped with bananas foster and vanilla bean ice cream. Update: Came back for the Fathers Day Sunday brunch. Excellent deal, I highly recommend it on any Sunday!

Someone recommended Maxwells, so my husband and I came down from GF to have our anniversary dinner. It was incredible- the best fine dinning we have had in ND. We started out with escargot and the prosciutto wrapped scallops in a lobster cream sauce. OMG, mouth watering! The food was phenomenal and the service was just as spectacular! Looking forward to the next time we can go!

Maxwells has a Sunday brunch buffet that is one of the best kept secrets in Fargo. It is quite pricey at about $20 per person but as a treat it is well worth it. Food quality is amazing and they have a plethora of gourmet foods for you to choose from. Again it is a little expensive but you are getting your moneys worth. Go ahead and treat yourself, you deserve it.

I went to this Maxwells for their Sunday morning brunch, and it was astounding. It definitely is one of the nicer places on Fargo, and it shows in the quality of food and the attention you receive from staff. The restaurant was very clean and the good was delicious. It is a bit expensive, but a great choice for an occasional nice brunch!

Good customer and really friendly service. The food was overpriced and on the menu it says gluten free options available but I didnt have much of a selection... it was something new to try. Go early. We got there late and the cook staff was ready to walk out the door. And I believe that was the reason for the limited menu options.

I just moved to Fargo from Washington DC and very snobbily thought that there wouldn t be any good food in Fargo. Not true! I m obsessed with Maxwells and I love their dinner and brunch menus - and the amazing drinks. This is where I always take out of town guests when I want to impress them with the best that Fargo has to offer!

Great surprise - amazing meal here in Fargo. Our server was fantastic. The bar has a great whiskey/wine selection (Though that 2014 George T. Stagg is now gone!). The food was top-notch on any scale. I have food allergies, and they were incredibly accommodating. HIGHLY recommend!

Great food and good ambiance. Had the house bacon wrapped bison tenderloin surf and turf, and it was amazing. Its better than Mezzalunas and the Toasted Frogs filet mignons, in my opinion, and the best Ive had in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
