How people think this restaurant is delicious is beyond me, me and my girlfriend just went for lunch to try another mexican restaurant as its our favorite food, were not ones to complain but the meals we received were disgusting, I ordered the steak fajitas which came nothing like there websites pictures suggest, meat tasted old, chewy, refried beans were mush, the rice tasted microwaved, entire meal was tasteless crap, my girlfriend ordered Pollo borracho ?? which consisted of mushed tasteless refried beans, some lettuce, and some chicken absolutely covered in A1 sauce, she couldnt get past two bites! when we mentioned it to our waiter they didnt care, gave us our bill, we bought it up as we was paying for the meal to another guy who didnt care, only wanted the money and wasnt at all bothered about any customer experience, Ill eat my dogs food before returning there, San Felipe thats also in Shallotte has the same prices, but fresh food, how San Jose is still in business when other, better mexican restaurants are just down the road is beyond me

Let me start off by saying we placed an online order and it was so easy to do so. Second off, the food was ready right when they said it would be. Third, the portions sizes are fairly large, so you definitely get a good amount of food for your dollar. And lastly, oh man...the food...it was just oh-so delicious. Best meal thus far in Shallotte. This food alone makes me want to come back to town.

Price=Poor-Fair Ordered Fajitas Tex for 2. Received a dish/tray with three compartments of sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese. Each had to be less than one tablespoon. Asked for more, received some more (each with one tablespoon) of cheese and pico de gallo and no sour cream. Received the bill, $2.25 for the extra 3 tablespoons. What a rip off. We wont be returning. Owners=greed

Got lunch from there today ! The food was great but the guy that takes the order needs to pay attention better. I asked for two teas to go with are food and I got cheese dip instead . Then I get home and had no wraps in for us to put are food on . To when did restraunts start charging a to go fee for food? Never seen it before.

Save yourself the trouble. The service was so poor could not even make it through the meal. Did not place my sons order till after all the other food was at the table then couldnt understand why we didnt want the food. I guess it is ok to eat in front of your children as they sit with nothing?

We enjoyed four different enchilada plates (chicken & spinach, chipotle chicken, carnitas, and veggie). Food was nicely plated and had some good spice. Service was friendly and helpful in getting our toddler and infant settled at the table.

Service was excellent and very fast. hUGE margarita on special and the changes that I requested for my enchiladas were accommodated with little effort. I would recommend this little gem in this little town. Prices are right too!!
