I met a friend for lunch yesterday and had the corned beef and cabbage. It probably was the best I had ever eaten. Later that night I went to a birthday celebration at the NC State Club where I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, purely for comparison purpose. The manager had stopped by our table earlier to inform us as to how the chef prepared his corned beef and that the cabbage would be purple, versus green. I ordered it to compare with the dish I had had earlier the same day at K & W Cameron Village. Im certain it was just a tough piece of beef but all of us who ordered it had to return it. It was so tough we could not chew it! I have never been disappointed with anything from K&W, especially their corned beef!

It is horrible. The employees in the eating area. Not want to do anything for anybody. Just talk And would run away from the customers. And many dirty tables. Hard to find a place to eat. The salad lady threw ice on our trays. The salad was cold. And the jello was good. And male customers got only good service. The hamburger was spicy. And the butter had a lot of butter on it. The african americans worked at the cashier area. Just totaling up the charge for meal. They were gossiping We had to wait until they finished.To get wait on. And they overcharged everyone. And the female employees would follow female customers around. And try to step on their foot. And block the walkways of females.

Ive been coming to K&W in Raleigh and Chapel Hill for 25 years. I dont think anything has changed in that time. They are consistent! Unfortunately the food has not improved either. I didnt mind canned vegetables, soybean oil, and mystery meat as a 9 year old, but now that Im aware of good coffee, whole fresh food, and can cook everything they serve at home, I expect more. Also, portion sizes for many dishes are ludicrous and some staff are jarring, i.e. talking to you without stopping or from over your shoulder. They are usually friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for some great home made meals, southern style, this is your place. They have the friendliest staff. The location in Cameron Village is always clean with plenty of seating for everyone. If youre craving Country Fried Steak, Chicken and Dumplings, a Vegetable Plate, or some wonderful Roast Beef, this is your place. They always have a fresh seafood offering, great deserts, and sweet tea. Treat your family to one of the last venues where they cook your food fresh everyday. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy, and come back often.

I had no choice but to give this a one star rating. Id rather give it 0. K&W has gone downhill. The food use to be good, but its gotten so bad, I wouldnt even feed it to my dogs! I dont understand what the problem is, but I use to love going here to eat. The last several times, it has been horrible! I highly do NOT recommend this place.

Good home cooking, friendly efficient folks. Its cafeteria style, so if you go at a time that its not very busy then you need to make sure youre not getting food that has set out awhile. Also the air conditioner sporadically is broke. But the food is just great, this place is a local icon known for that.

Repeatly, I have called in for the daily menu. They tend to give the incorrect information. It is frustrating to gather a group of orders then discover on site the menu is different. I called about this issue to Chris the general manager who proceeded to hang up the phone on me.

My favorite place to eat! Anytime I am in Raleigh, Cary, or nearby we enjoy the food, service, and quickness of serving food. If you have a cane, walker or just need help, they take your tray and assist in setting you up with a table or booth.

Main entree Turkey and Dressing was good and plenty, no devil eggs available?, cabbage and creamed corn was good. Garlic bread was cold. Baked cheesecake for dessert was ok at best, light on flavor. Atmosphere and service was good as always.

Good "home cooked" meals for a decent price. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Make sure you bring some cash for a tip as you can not add it to your credit / debit card.

As far as cafeterias go the K&W is really good. It is fast, cheap, and full of choices. Perfect place to cure the mid-day munchies.
