I thought this place was good. I got food to go and it was ready very fast. Even though the people kind of ignored me when I first walked in, because they were talking and in their phones with another customer, I didnt get too upset and walk out. I had the beef fried rice, and it was delicious. I cant wait to try another dish. Maybe Ill sit in next time. Also, be careful of traffic. It is a bike lane, and there was a person driving in the bike lane about to run me over as I was turning into the place.

My friends with authority on this subject tell me that this is where people from Szechuan go to get Szechuan food. The fish in Szechuan sauce is a must for the uninitiated, and the red chili oil they use makes their red oil appetizers incredible. The especially adventurous are encouraged to try the intestines with hot peppers, a dish which blossoms with flavor when it touches your tongue. The stuff they make is so tasty I take the leftovers back and cook with them.

The food was amazing. I had Hunan shrimp that was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I cant wait to return and try some of their other dishes. The best part is that they were able to make my meal gluten free because they make all their sauces in house and have gluten free soy sauce. Im celiac and am thrilled to have another restaurant option in the area with well trained staff that were able to answer all my questions!

Think authentic. Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Durham and Chapel Hill, if not the state. In addition to the usual fare, they prepare an array of exceptional authentic dishes and offer a great list of specials (see the board when you walk in as the servers dont always mention them). I would rank this restaurant with the best authentic Chinese restaurants Ive been to in San Francisco, L.A.

This place was recommended to me as an authentic Chinese restaurant. We went and were very impressed - the food was hot and fresh, lots of menu items to choose from, and the staff were friendly. I had Ma Po Tofu (with brown rice - always love that as an option!), which was spicy and delicious. We will be back for sure - looking forward to trying some Szechuan-style meals :)

Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere for a great meal. My wife and I typically order the food to-go but do plan a casual date night there soon. After a move from Charlotte I have been looking for a new favorite Chinese restaurant and I know that I have found it. I am looking forward to eating dinner at Happy China and trying a few new dishes.

Awesome food and great service. This is the best Chinese food in Durham according to our western and East Asian palates and our Chinese-born friends. They have everything to satisfy the traditional Chinese favorites and the Americanized Chinese food palate, such as the General Tsos chicken.

The food is consistently good and fresh. Take out is always ready within 10-15 minutes and table service is good. The tofu lettuce wraps are simple amazing; by far the best lettuce wraps Ive had. The egg rolls are vegetarian and delicious, and the Kung Pao Chicken is my default go-to dish.

My brother chose the location for his birthday outing. Attentive staff and well portioned food for the prices. They have the usual "Americanized" Chinese cuisine as well as traditional Chinese dishes. Cant recall the last time I ate somewhere that offered frog legs.

I called in an order of shrimp fried rice and chicken egg foo young. You know those carrot cubes you find in the frozen food section? That was in my fried rice.... yuck. Food was simply too greasy and lacked seasoning. Customer service also one star.

It was the best modern Chinese food Ive had in this area thus far. Id recommend grabbing any of the soups too. Theyre great, the hot and sour soup in particular. The honey walnut shrimp surpassed my expectations as well. Would definitely come here again.

Sucks. They were awfully slow and unreasonable. We arrived 20 minutes early and they still took an hour to give us rice! They ignored us when we asked for water and were ridiculously mean. The food was half decent but they are the lowest in the world.

I love this place. I was introduced it to it by Chinese members of my PhD program and I havent been disappointed. The food is reasonablyour priced and delicious and I havent ever had bad service. Personally I recommend the Mongolian Chicken.

Get the authentic Szechuan food. We have been to China and this is the best place in the region, hands down. We go here weekly and venture to other Chinese places once a month but nine can hold a candle to Happy China!

Arrived on a Friday at 4 pm, not many people there (which I Loved). The food was great and the customer service was amazing as well. If youre adventerous, try the ox tounge and tripe appetizer.
