I know it can be a challenge to find "your" Chinese restaurant, but when Golden China moved in (I guess about ten years), we found "our" restaurant. The vegetables are always crisp, fresh, and abundant in any of the entrees. The soups are all delicious (egg drop, hot & sour, miso, wonton). Lunch Specials are VERY reasonable ($5-6), and come with entree, rice, and choice of soup or egg roll. You get the option of Japanese or Chinese entrees, which is nice for a change of pace. Some of my crowds faves: Hibachi Steak/Chicken (lots of fresh veggies and a great ginger sauce), General Tsaos (what could be wrong with fried chicken drenched in sweet, spicy, garlicky sauce), anything in their Hunan sauce (a rich, garlicky brown sauce), Singapore Mei Fun (cellophane noodles with shrimp and pork in a yellow curry), and the steamed dumplings (theyre amazing). I agree that atmosphere is standard strip-mall, but the booths are comfy and the service is quick. Take-out orders (even for a crowd) are always ready in 10 minutes. DELICIOUS FOOD AT A GREAT VALUE

The food was pretty good, but I was very disappointed with the service! Our waitress was nice enough, but I was with 2 friends, and all of our orders were brought at separate times leaving the food to get cold while we waited for the rest. The biggest problem though was the order brought to my best friend, which was loaded with broccoli...he is allergic to broccoli, so we told her immediately. When they brought a second plate and he began to eat, his throat began to itch! They still had traces of broccoli in the lo mein, even though we notified them of a food allergy! She apologized profusely and said they would make him a third plate, free of charge, with no contact to anything containing broccoli. ...we never got the plate, and my food got cold bc I had to leave to go buy benedryl. When we got our bill, she took off his meal, but for some reason we had an extra surcharge unexplained, and they charged him for his drink! Our half of the bill was 13 dollars and some change for a $7 dinner and tea...we never got his comped meal, we just left!

I love this place...the food is always great, hot and delicious and thats true for anything on the menu. The price is reasonable especially considering the amount of food you get. The dine in is okay but very loud when packed and they get busy or packed very often..but you can always order for pickup which usually takes about 15mins no matter how large the order. The waitresses are extremely friendly and quick as well. Customer service is beyond good. I always choose this place when I want good chinese food -fast and affordable. You cant go wrong with Golden China, and I have been eating at this place for over 5 years. The BEST chinese food in Durham, guaranteed!

Very disappointing place. We had take out twice from this place and both the times the food was tastless and disappointing. They got my order of spring rolls wrong both the times and gave me shrimp rolls. I dont eat shrimp and had to throw all the rolls. My husbands food was not good either- seafood delight. I had ordered kung pao chicken but i could barely find chicken in it. It seemed like kung pao celery and peanuts. Hunan chicken had no flavor at all either. Twice we tried this place and we were disappointed both times. I am not ordering food from this place anymore.

I start with the egg drop soup and egg roll, both outstanding Then I pick from the traditional list you would expect at any Chinese restaurant. Your pick comes with white or pork fried rice. The pork fried rice is excellent. My wife and I have seven or eight favorites and we think the food is very favorable and delicious. We have been eating here as long as the place has been open. A steady stream of eat ins and take out customers make me think that a lot of people give these hard working folks five stars too.

I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant for a pretty long time... And found one which is Golden China! And they have the great food like their soups and lunches are cheap but the taste is great!! And I saw one of the comments down their that said that they have weird hibachi. They have great hibachi and I think that someone ordered the wrong thing... Mexican food like?? Hummmmmmmmmmmmm I know what that meant be moo shu plate!! Maybe someone order the wrong thing....

We went to Costco this morning and happily found this restaurant across the street. It is a lovely place with TV showing some Disney Channel movies, haha.. The service was very good and the foods are delicious. I definitely enjoyed the tasty BBQ ribs. They have this lunch special menu which costs $5 for more than 20 choices, and the dish comes with rice and soup. I am happy to add this place to my weekend lists and try more.

This place is Great! I have been eating here for 8 years and have never been unsatisfied with the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not fancy and there are tvs playing, (this is also a seat your self restaurant) but if you dont like the atmosphere just get it to go, they have your food ready in a jiffy. Great food, Great Lunch specials, Great prices and huge portions!!

Im a NY transplant so Ive had some really good Chinese food that I wasnt expecting to find after moving. When I moved to Durham I mainly ordered Chinese from one place but after trying this one it was much better and the service was better as well. Im sad after moving to a new arena in Durham since its no longer so close to me. Their pu pu platter was my favorite.

i always get the curry shrimp because i think it kinda the best thing over their and that the egg drop soup is the best soup i had in years from a chinese place an i like the hibachi chinken and steak because i just love their food and i want to go their everyday afer work to by something 4 my famliy because they love it 2!!! GO 2 GOLDEN CHINA TODAY!!!!

Horrible Customer Service Got a fountain. Drink and it tastes stale, almost like the seller water had ran out. So asked owner could I exchange fountain drink for can soda, she said no. Lost out on $2 bucks. Also what appeared to be there server had a really bad cold but continued to serve food. Ended up not eating the food, wont go there again.

I absolutely LOVE this Chinese restaurant you can dine in or takeout. They are really friendly evert I me I come thru the door. I ordered the general tso chicken extra crispy and its always nice and fresh... Mmmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm Thank you so much!!!!

I was impressed by the cheap prices and the amount of food you got for that. Got the signature lunch, includes sushi, choice of soup, and choice of Chinese entree. And lunch prices are in effect till 4:00pm. Ill be going back to this place!

i normally get the same dishes for chinese, sesame chicken being one of them. i loved their sesame chicken. not too chunky of pieces! i however did not like the taste of the pork fried rice it came with. nonetheless, it was yummy!
