This place is a local gem. The food is the best overall I have had anywhere and the service is fantastic. I simply dont know how they make it, but it is certainly Artisan. Dont be fooled by size of the entree or that fact that you dont get any sides...you will barely be able to finish! I highly recommend Thanksgiving on a Bun as a must-try. For a spicier sandwich, try Felix the Cat (catfish of course!) You really cannot go wrong with any of the burritos. Or the salads. Or anything. They have moved just down the street recently, allowing for 3x the seating which is great. Its a little tougher to get in and out of now that it is on Walnut Street, but only in the sense that it takes a little more time - it is a safe traffic situation as you can only turn right out of the Hot Point onto Walnut. Its a little easier to have a private conversation in the new location since there is more room, but the ambiance is going to take a little getting used to.

This is my favorite place to eat in Cary or Raleigh. The food is a fusion of many different styles (Asian, Mexican, Italian ...) and everything I have tried is amazing. The Thai chicken pizza is my personal favorite. It is truly a unique experience that you will not find anywhere else. The decor is not much to look at, but when you combine it with the excellent food and wonderful staff you feel like having discovered a diamond in the rough (even though most locals already know about it from word of mouth). They recently moved from Buck Jones Road to Walnut Street in 2013, So many people, including myself, thought it went out of business. Thank goodness it is up and running. The new place has increased indoor seating and they still have plenty of outdoor seating which is what I prefer.

My sister introduced me to Hot Point a few years ago and it has since became my favorite spot to dine for a delicious, affordable meal. Jean and her staff are always welcoming and help make the dining experience very personable. I have had many, many items on the menu and always been greatly satisfied. Their homemade focaccia bread is amazing and makes any sandwich a treat. The "Thanksgiving on a Bun" sandwich is awesome! The pizzas are great. The burritos are delectable and massive! The lobster bisque soup is always a great starter. The crab cake or curry chicken salads are scrumtrulescent. Oh yeah...they have beer and wine too! I honestly dont think I could praise this place enough. If you are looking for delicious food at a great price, Hot Point is where you need to be!

My sister ordered shrimp and grits and it came out completely different than pictured on the menu, and were terrible. When she asked to return them (after 2 bites) and order something else the waitress said of course and we put them on the end of the table. The waitress failed to pick them up for a long time then when we asked her to take it off the bill she refused because "half" was gone and they were on our table for a period of time. The manager argued where the other "half" went and why the rest of our party "ran off" while they were waiting in the car for us to fix the bill. I found the managers accusatory tone and assumption of bad intentions to be extremely rude. Extremely disappointed in the customer experience.

Wow. Just wow. Go to Hot Point Cafe, now. I tried Hot Point on a whim one night, and it was just amazing. The food blew me away - the Salmon from Heaven is my new favorite. They had great service, and the owner of the restaurant came right to my table and introduced himself, and suggested wines and beers to go with my food. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and there isnt enough one can say about all the choices on the menu. Im told that everything is hand made, and fresh; and you can certainly tell. I highly reccomend Hot Point to anyone and everyone, and I bring my family and friends whenever I get a chance.

I should have written a review years ago. My husband and I go here multiple times a month and this place is awesome. The food is homemade... and Izzy the server is one of the most personable people we have ever encountered at a restaurant. I have tried several items on the menu and have always been pleased with every one of them!! This is a privately owned place and I enjoy supporting a locally owned restaurant.

Just had the shrimp and grits tonight..and it was phenomenal! Best meal Ive had in a long time. The shrimp were large and tasty. The grits were not your typical mushy grits but were molded into a well seasoned loaf. And the asparagus! Perfectly done. Not overcooked and not undercooked. But with just the right snap. And the sauce! How do they make that sweet bacon sauce? Well definitely be back!

I come here often and today I came with my mother and my son and I just feel the need to brag about my experience. The food was wonderful! Made perfect every time I come. The thing that tops my experience off is how amazing the customer service is. The guy at the register was so kind to me as always and the server Alexa is the sweetest young lady you could run into. Talk about a great experience!

Hot Point is a unique place- rare in Cary. Lots of menu options and theyre all delicious! I personally prefer the entrees (salads, burritos, etc.) over the deli sandwiches, although they are still good. Its a really casual, low-key place with amazing food. There are a lot of regulars here, because we all have to get our weekly fix of good eats! Definitely check it out!

Its good, but I constantly feel like a fair bit of editing on the menu as whole, and each dish in general would make it great. Its like that kid in school who wants so bad to be cool that they try too hard and never quite make it. Not everything needs 20 ingredients, its okay to do simple well. Chill and you will be better for it.

Wow their food is amazing. Had the beef burrito, it was like bistek ranchero in a burrito form. The black bean soup was equally good. Only thing I wish they had is a big sign saying they are a restaurant. Have been around this area for a while and just found out about it. Wish I knew sooner.

Great little deli. The stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer was phenomenal. My husband said his Salmon salad was excellent. My son had a chicken pesto sandwich that he really enjoyed. Service was super friendly and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Will definitely eat here again.

From the outside and the name of the place, youd have no idea how good the food is here. Worth a try for anyone, even if youre like me and think that American food isnt exciting. Hot Point *is* exciting! Try the Tuscan salmon salad and have a beer or two.

Was a skeptic my first time. All the dishes have a lot of ingredients and I typically dont like food with that much going on; but this place is incredible. Ive been a few times and get something new every time. Ive never been dissapointed. Great food.
