The Westville Pub, as I came to realize, is filled with bigots who practice in ageism and discrimination against people of their choosing. The only reason they get away with it is because 60-90% of the people(depending on the day) leave drunk and therefore satisfied. The owner appears to only care about how well the employees do their job, and how many drinks they can serve an individual before they pass-out. They are A-OK just so as long as they are young, and wont cause to much trouble. Keep in mind that although the atmosphere and and food may be great-I wouldnt recommend bringing anyone who appears old and is relatively boisterous, controlled though they may be, in for a good time. To make my point, I witnessed an appalling happenstance at the pub while I was waiting for my friend: a customer was verbally assaulted and lightly physically battered by an employee. The customer, who appeared to be unsatisfied, complained about improper service and demanded due respect. Never once did the customer raise his hand nor his voice during his exchange with the manager on duty and his employee, instead he wore the expression incredulity.

Went here recently with my my teenage son for a couple burgers with fries to go. Was rather appalled at the basic burger price of 9.50 and with upgrades to Rockafella and Patty Melt the bill came to over $23. (was actually charged .10 cents for lettuce!) Had we stayed there to eat I would have pointed out to mngr that the menu said burgers are cooked medium unless otherwise specified-which we wanted- because they were both well done and dried out! It was 10:30 am and there were only 2 other people at the bar so clearly not busy... Definitely wont go there for a meal again. We were both disappointed. Should have waited the extra half hour for Universal Joint across the street to open-always satisfied with their burgers!

Ordered three burgers with cheese to go. They ended up charging my 37.88. I looked them up online and found that their burgers are 9 dollars. Not too mention the burger meat had way too much pepper in it to the point that everyones mouth was on fire. Also, the fries were soggy almost to the point that they were still raw. I tried to send a private email to the management to let them know and their main websites contact email doesnt even work properly. Dont waste your time at this joke of an establishment. The PBR tastes like warm rotten piss and the staff is a joke. Go across the street to the Universal Joint and eat a good burger for a reasonable price.

Food is good, bands are good, the waitresses are so-so. Best to order at the bar. The day shift is average, but the evening shift is awesome. The entertainment is always sterling. On a bas note, dont try internet at Westashe Pub. It is worse than Dennys...frustrating and only works part of the time. Very very sad internet. Damn shame. That is why I do not frequent this place other then for one beer and maybe the band. Battlecats Coffee Bar has fast internet, coffee AND beer, and the finest bbq til 3pm. A new club has opened next door to Battlecats and if the internet is good and the entertainment and food are there, goodbye Westashe Pub for sure.

I think Westvilles prime was about 4-5 years ago. Back then, there was open mic Mondays, free bar band Thursdays, cover-charge-band Saturdays. Now theres none of that. And foodwise, the fish-and-chips preparation seems to change every few months with every new chef, as does the reuben, as does the wrap. The food is never the same one visit to the next. On-tap beers are often unavailable. Spirits pours are not generous. Seems like it has become a PBR place. We used to come here all the time, now maybe once or twice a year.

Good place to meet, eat, drink and be merry with friends. Good beer selection and good wings. Service isnt always top-notch but with a little patience youll get another drink... eventually. The hardwood can make it a bit noisy and so the atmosphere isnt for a romantic dinner. But theres a patio for outdoor dining and there is a little room with a couple of pool tables and a foosball table.

One of our favorite joints in the neighborhood until recently, due to disappointing service in the last 2 visits (opening shift both times). Not only do you have the leisure of waiting 20+ minutes for a drink, you are also given a complementary show of the bartender(s) verbally assaulting customers. Sad to see nasty attitudes in what use to be such an inviting and warm atmosphere.

Very tasty pub-style food. Get the Eagle Baby sandwich with sriracha honey garlic sauce or the smoked trout quesadilla. Fantastic beer selection - lots of taps with local and near-local beers. The vibe is that of a pleasant hangout for locals. The service at crush times can be slow - my observation is that this seems to be due to chronic understaffing.

I have eaten here countless times since moving to West Asheville in 2003, one year after the Pub opened. I have enjoyed seeing this neighborhood staple grow over time. They recently added an in-house baker who has taken the menu up yet another notch, with fresh breads and delicious deserts. Always friendly and excellent service as well.

Hands down the best pub food. The service is great. They have a huge variety of local and craft beers on tap well as in the bottle. They have a game room with pool, shuffle board, and fooseball. The coolest part is the huge bay doors that you can sit in and people watch the busy Haywood road. A must visit in Asheville!

Excellent beer selection. Probably the best in west Asheville. The food is good for a bar. The place is usually packed when there is live music so if you just happen to stop in, it can be a little hectic. I like it for beers after work with friends, when its not too loud. Certainly a worth it in my opinion.

Im originally from New Orleans and the Crawfish poboy was as authentic as any you would find there, right down to being on Gambinos bread. My wife had a black bean burger with fries which was terrific. Friendly and fast service. Lots of local beers on tap. A cool neighborhood bar with really good food.

Wish this place were in Raleighwood. Daughter goes to UNCA, never miss it when Im town to visit her. Too bad shes got less than two years left at school here. Back the review, pub fare is awesome, craft beer selection is beyond compare with great rotating taps, and the staff is great!

Perfect spot to grab a brew in West Asheville. Its a pub, but the food is better than typical pub grub. Ahi Tuna sandwich and plates are solid. The bottle caps (fried jalapenos) are a solid addition to any meal. If youre a wing person, theyve got good options there.

1st time there to celebrate my brothers birthday on Monday 11/21/16, bartenders were awful, the bartender girl ignored us most of the time! We ask for the fish sandwich and fried mushrooms and both were not cook all the way, very disappoint of this place

I am glad I dont pay much attention to the low ratings that are just from complainers. I know working in the restaurant industry its impossible to please everyone. We had a great lunch with great service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
