The Yard House chain is amazing. My friends and I love it so much after discovering the one in Palmdale, CA, that weve made it personal goals to hit every one there is. I diverted our family vacation through Yonkers just to visit this location and not only was I not disappointed, but my family members are now fans as well. This was my first visit since the menu change. I was highly disappointed to see the Maui Chicken removed from the menu, but my wife was delighted to see a few humus featured items. She loved the new Cilantro Lime Grilled Shrimp, but it didnt meet the abundant portion standards Ive come to expect from Yard House. The kids loved the burger, ribeye, and grilled striped bass (fish of the day). The fries were the best theyd ever had. The mixed field greens salad is always stellar, as was the onion ring tower, and the french onion soup. But its Yard House, there isnt a bad thing on the menu. And the food is always artfully presented. The setting is like a sports bar (large flat screen TVs with many sports programs), but with a more formal edge. The lighting is dark, but perfect for watching a game or entertaining. The wait staff appears to be formally trained and they know the menu well. There is a center bar with 130 beers on tap if youre into that type of thing. They have two viewable keg rooms on display with a patented distribution system that adds to the ambiance. The chain is high tech. They are active on twitter and have an app available for tracking your trip through the 130 taps. They have beer samplers that vary from time to time and come with a placard explaining the selections. Or you can choose your favorite in a tapered half yard glass. The Yonkers location is nestled into the ritzy Westchesters Ridge Hill town center with a variety of shops and sources of entertainment and dining. There are a few parking garages with plenty of parking, but there was a fee of around $4.

DIRTY DISHES. First let me preface this review by saying Ive been a huge fan The Yardhouse since my west coast days, years before they brought this brand to New York I was a regular at the Yardhouse. It has long been my favorite spot to grab a beer and some wings. Now, about my experience last night. I ordered my usual,a half yard of beer and an order of wings. The problem began when my wings arrive on a filthy plate. The plate had black stains and various food particles. I sent it back and complained and they re made my order. The second plate, while not as filthy as the first also had food particles on it. At this point one of the employees expressed his frustration in the fact that he has brought this issue to managements attention before. Speaking of management... The second time my food was delivered in an unclean plate a manager came to address the issue. I was explaining to him how filthy the first plate was and he told me "I dont care about the first plate, I care about getting it right next time". As a customer Im telling the manager that the restaurant has an issue with cleanliness and hes telling me he does not care. I was surprised by this. But it makes sense, if management doesnt care about cleanliness than why should the kitchen staff? This experience marks the end of my relationship with this Yardhouse location. Ill go to the palisades location instead. But I wont eat somewhere where I feel like I have to inspect every glass, fork and plate. 1 star

Everything was fine until they sat us down. The server asked us if we wanted tomatoes and cheese on our guac. We said on the side and they bring it out on top. My drink took 15 minutes after apps came. She asked me if I wanted a half or full turkey salad. I said half she brings a full chicken salad. The temperature outside dropped fast out of nowhere so we asked to be moved inside. Supposedly she kept checking and the same two booths remained empty on other side of glass window the entire time. She never told us if there was anything avaible inside. Meanwhile we had a 9yr old freezing. Restaurant wasnt even busy. We never got moved inside. My girlfriend asked for hot sauce and she never brought it out. Her daughter asked for rice krispys treat for desert. They brought out a sundae. We were in deep convo trying not too let the horrible service ruin the end of our long workday. The worst service ever and I am not one to look for things to complain about. Im simple Im easy and as I type this review I swear my throat is swelling up probably from a dirty glass. I feel reason for this service is because we didnt rack up the bill due to my girlfriend and daughter only having one appetizer ans 2 meals plus mine and one drink. I guess she noticed we werent racking up bill with drinks for her to make higher tip so she gave us the worst. Never again will I return. I hope the manager speaks with Ashley and runners about my experience.

Really lovely place. I went at around 11P.M. to 12, and it was surprisingly packed, but my party of 4 got seated immediately. I didnt walk in with any expectations because Ive never eaten it before, but I was blown away by the food. I ordered the California Roll, and it was not like a regular sushi roll at all. Firstly, it was in a cylinder form? It tasted heavenly though. It was spicy but amazing and the shape didnt deter from it from all. Everyone I was with loved the food too, and my mom even liked the Passion Fruit Margarita a lot. The waiter was lovely and cordial. Just, a really nice place to eat. Oh yes and they fresh bake the brownies there too. It takes 15 minutes but it comes with full melted marshmallows on the top. So good. I came in with no expectations and left thinking its probably the best place to eat in Ridge Hill.

Nice server, however several issues that gives this place a big thumbs down. Drinks are totally WEAK. Ordered a long island ice tea, but it ended up being an iced tea. My date ordered a drink that included fresh lemon as an ingredient, but drink was terrible. Ordered medium well steak, but it was rare with blood draining into the mashed potatoes, asked them to put the steak back on the burner and replace the mashed potatoes, steak came back still pink but no blood running. Was told that the manager would be over to our table, but never saw a manager. Still left a tip, but the experience was not good at all. Food sucked, drinks sucked. Will not go again nor will I recommend anyone to this place. Total let down.

Yes, this place does feel a little too "west coast corporate." Yes, there are serious issues with being seated in a timely manner. Yes, there are some EXTREMELY rude employees who need to consider a different career. However, the beer selection is second to none and the food is actually quite good. I have a favorite host and try to sit in her section every time we head up there (shes awesome!!). Further, the management team does seem attentive and eager to improve on any negative experiences. With some careful tweaking of the business model, including the introduction of a RESERVATIONS SYSTEM and removal of insubordinate or disrespectful employees, this place is easily a 4 out of 5.
