We had made reservations weeks ago for Mothers Day. I had called ahead to check if there was a set Prix Fixe Menu. The woman checked with the chef who said no. Which was good because my Mother and Mother in Law are very picky. The regular menu had french toast, chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc. I wanted Mothers Day to be special as they were all coming from out of town. However, when we arrived on Mothers Day, we were told they actually did decide to go with a Prix Fixe menu. That they tried to contact some people but were unable to get ahold of others (me). Well, there was NOTHING on this menu my mothers would eat, much less the rest of my party. It was so specialized Pork Belly w/grits, Pork Chops w/ Egg in a hole, lemon ricotta pancakes with sour cream. Im sure this sounds great to some people, but for a normal family lunch this was not appropriate for us. My mother doesnt eat dairy or seafood and certainly not pork belly. We were told we could order items individually, but there was nothing on this Prix Fixe anyone wanted anyway. Which would not have been a big deal, but Sweetgrass "wouldnt allow us" to order off the regular menu! Ridiculous! They said they could maybe make something special for my Mother, but the rest of us would have to eat off this strange menu. The owner walked off when she realized we were unhappy and left us with this poor waitress who had only been working there for three days. You would think the owner would at least try to accommodate us. We were very upset. We had to leave and walk all over the place on Mothers Day looking for another restaurant that could fit us in. Extremely disappointing service. We wont be back.

Very poor customer service and disgusting food! After reading the good reviews we decided to stopover for brunch enroute to our kykuit trip. We had made reservations and we were the first few in the restaurant. Started with ordering the coffee which was the worst ever that I have ever had. It was cold, and dilute with no flavor of "coffee" whatsoever. Second came the chick pea soup which both my friend and husband ordered. One of the bowls had soo much chickpea and the other was soo slurpy with minimal chickpea. After that came the main course - I had ordered the chicken club burger and I specifically asked for no bacon in the burger - three times while ordering. Yet after a getting the next tables food served to us by mistake and waiting another 30 minutes my burger came with the bacon. This totally blew it for me - I had confirmed 3 times. The burger itself was very substandard. The waiter walked in 10 minutes after the food was served and offered to change the dish but by this time I was soo annoyed by everything. I should have guessed after the disasterous coffee - everything was going to go downhill. If you cant get a simple coffee right - the food will definitely will crappy. Whether its crowded or not - there is no reason to be served such substandard food and have such poor customer service. I will not recommend anyone to eat here and waste their time and money!

I went for brunch, with two of my friends. I heard a lot of good stuff about this place. The server receive us with some Blueberry cup cake, after we all ordered. The food: I had the Steak & Eggs: A Grass-fed Hanger Steak with Fried Eggs, Roasted Vegetable Hash and Hollandaise or in my case French Fries on the side. My steak was Medium with over eassy eggs, The steak, had i good taste nothing special about it and the eggs was very juicy. One of my friends ate the Veggie Breakfast Bowl: a disk that had Fried Eggs, Grits, Mushrooms and Spinachi. He mention that was good My other friend had the Lumberjack Pancake: Fried Eggs, Bacon, Roasted Vegetable Hash, Maple Syrup-chocolate Martini she mention that was ok. For our dessert we share the: Carrot cake: Not bad at all, really not bad at all. Rich. Creamy, and just enough to satisfy, sweet tooth with Coulis Chocolate Martini: Three Olives Chocolate Vodka, Stoli Vanilla, Irish Crème be careful with this one You can leave a little drunk just by drinking this dessert. But I liked the combination that had the chocolate with alcohol. The server: Was very good and fast.

My girlfriend and I walked by here one day when it was closed. We saw the menu in the window and figured to try it out next time we were in town. Other than this one table of weird European kids from Marrymount, the crowd was nothing but adult and relaxed. The staff were excellent and the food was fantastic. The menu was one of the most unique Ive ever seen and full of nothing but original meal options. The specials were one more enticing than the next. The price was just a small pinch more than the average cost of a night out with the girlfriend, but it was beyond worth it. Quite the gem to have a nice relaxing evening with a loved one and/or friends. There were quite an amount of people, and yet we did not feel crowded. We also did not have to shout over one another because it wasnt loud one bit. The bar area wasnt even a bit loud either. The two of us will definitely be coming back again to this fine establishment.

A terrific burger. The beef has a wonderful flavor. Thick juicy grilled burger. It was grilled exactly the way I asked. A powerhouse flavor. I feel like I am eating in a steakhouse the flavor is that good here. Toppings of lettuce and tomato are generous. Sliced pickled red onion and slices of pickles atop burger add terrific flavor. Sweet potato fries are thick and crispy. You can really, really taste the sweet potato inside. Sea salt is atop fries. Very tasty and done the right way. Burger here is better than many specialty burger shops. Exceptionally friendly and pleasant atmosphere and staff.

Sunday Brunch is always a chaotic day, so I can understand service being heavily preoccupied and the noise at a somewhat impersonal level. However, that is no excuse for the quality of the food. My girlfriend got the Lumberjack. Her pancake was burnt and overeasy eggs well done. The steak and eggs werent the worst, but underwhelming and how I had asked for it. If I of all people was still hungry after my meal, theres something wrong. Perhaps this venue is more suitable for lunch or dinner on any other day, but brunch is not something they excel at in my book.

In a word: terrible. Ive been here numerous times, both before and after the new chef started cooking. Or not cooking. The menu reads like a parody of a farm-to-table restaurant, bragging about the fact that the salad greens are from "Pocantico," yet the plates totally underwhelm (the salad was soggy with dressing). Almost everything Ive tried here has been an overwrought mess of try-hard preparations and ingredients. If you want to drop $100 on food that seems like the losing dishes from Top Chef, go ahead but there are much much better places in the area.

Best fried chicken fingers Ive ever had. I was told by the server that the chickens were free range and allowed to roam in real grass. There must be something to that, because the chicken really was quite good. But that wasnt even what I had, those were for my toddler. I had these amazing grits under some sunny side eggs and my wife had quinoa cakes with eggs Benedict and sweet potato home fries. Very good. We arrived early and had good seating near the window, but the server did warn us to make reservations during the busy season.
