When I saw the Folderol was reopened as Westtown Fare, I knew I had to give it a shot. Well it took almost a year but we finally got there. It was a snowy night so the bar crowd was reserved and to a minimum, that may seem like a strange comment but as a rule I dont eat at places that have the bar in the center of the restaurant, just way to loud for our taste. Kris greeted us like old friends when we arrived, a great inviting quality thats hard to find these days. We were seated in the raised dining room overlooking the bar in a somewhat cramped corner table by the steps. The wait staff was a delight and the drinks came quickly. I had the pork belly appetizer which was gutsy and inspired. Sonya ordered the baked brie which was also good. Sonya had the onion soup which was not your classic clear broth soup, interesting but not what she was expecting. The Westtown salad was fresh and perfect and my brussels sprout salad was cooked perfectly and delicious. For my main I ordered the Scallops on risotto, both were also perfectly cooked and divine! Sonya had the rib eye steak which was delicious and cooked perfectly. The only problem is that it was served lukewarm, I suspect there was a timing problem in the kitchen since my scallops were perfect. The spring vegetables were exquisite, but the potato gratin though well cooked but was over spiced, it dominated the plate. For dessert we shared the chocolate plate. The ice cream, flourless chocolate cake, white moose in a boat, and chocolate moose were a perfect ending with the unexpected surprise of a french press of fresh coffee. All in all a nice experience in a beautiful old house.

Dont make the mistake of thinking that Westtown Fare is just another country restuarant, because its anything but that. Tucked inside a remodelled colonial style home, there is also a large bar area and an outdoor seating area when the weather is mild. The atmosphere is sophisticated and without pomp. The food is an eclectic, American cuisine based on locally sourced products, which means that much of what youll eat here comes from the Black Dirt farms of Orange Co. Carefully selected ingredients are only the beginning, as the chef, co-ower and his wife tranform the starting materials into some truely wonderful culinary presentations. Dinner entrees run from ~ $15 - $30, whcih will bring dinner for 2, including an appetizer, wine & a dessert to ~$100 (excluding tip). Westtown Fare is a complete dining experience and such restuarants, regardless of price are few and far between. If you reside in the Tri-state area then count yourself lucky to have such a great local restuarant and if you live fruther away, you owe it to yourself to make the trip. Its worth it.

Very Charming place to come for real gourmet food, much of it made from local ingredients. The owners and staff are great people and make you feel at home. Steves weekly menu always shows his ability to pair flavors and seasonal ingredients that inspire the palate yet casual enough to come all the time. You can get a good bottle of wine for a fair price and they also have very nice cocktails on the menu!

This is our favorite loval restaurant. If you sit in the upper dining room it is very cozy and romantic. The food is a nice mix of American favorites with some French inspiration. All the ingredients are locally sourced.I have never had a bad meal here. The service is attentive without being annoying. Overall,a very nice experience can be had dining here.

Inventive upscale food served with flair in a beautifully remodeled farmhouse. Very difficult to find anything rivaling this level of cuisine anywhere within 45 minutes, especially in a relatively casual atmosphere. You can tell Steve, the chef/owner loves food and just wants to share it. My familys favorite restaurant, totally worth the trip out here.

Service was slow. Took for ever to get drinks. Pricey. Waitress looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for steak knives with my steak. My husbands steak was fatty with too much grissle. Salmon good. Too bad cause its close.

Very creative presentations of everything we 5 had, from first dishes through dessert. All balanced so that each flavor carried the others. Wonderful touch with food, with service to match. Bravo!

Did not want to deliver to my house because it was. .2 miles outside his zone for a 80 dollar order and said it with an attitude as well. Very unreasonable and rude customer service
