Years ago we visited a spot, El Rincon in New Jersey for what we thought was good spanish food. But over the past 10 years, The Real Madrid has consitently been one of the best places for paella and other good foods. If you are are looking for rice and beans in the traditional sense, this is not the place. This spot is more Venezualian. So dont look for pastelles or roast pork. This is truly a lovely spot. The owners know their customers and so do the waiters. They are friendly and always make you feel welcome when you are there. The food...well, with oversized excellently seasoned portions, you will certainly have enough to take to work for lunch on the next day. Old decor is the only downside but otherwise it is a nice place for dinner or lunch.

As we entered. Thought it would be a excellent, to the contrary. The Ambiance was to dark for the time of day and party size. The table place setting OK, servers where very nice. The seafood paella wasnt great the seafood over cooked and the so called lobster had no meat. Disappointed. It was our first time in. Sadly the last time. I dont mind spending good hard earned money for Great Food.. not for food that was OK. and to make matters worse get a tab bill, with nothing but a total and no explanation of what was purchased. totaled wrong by over $80. with out the tip. Like they expected one not to question it. Seriously!?! I normally take care of my waiters, sadly not today. I hate asking for water all the time. This place was bad.

i have been going to Real Madrid with my family for over 10 years.. from the first time to last night everything has been amazing! the service, food and of course the sangria. i brought my girlfriend there last night and she was more then impressed. i am truly happy that real madrid is still around with the best spanish food staten island has to offer. i always!! recommend the paella with lobster and seafood... all the fish is fresh, cleaned and top quality. in fact i am eating the leftovers right now for lunch... yes they give you enough food for three meals. i recommend splitting a paella dish.. GET THE SANGRIA

My Dad loves this for his birthday. We all love the fried, sliced potatoes served with every meal; the veggies are steamed and al dente so depending on what it is you may or may not like them. Yellow rice and soup or salad are included; the house dressing is great while the iceberg lettuce and unripe tomatoes arent great. (never had the soup because I dont eat meat). The decor is old, but the entrees are fabulous. I dont drink, but I was informed the sangria is a 7. The menu stays about the same so vegetarian me gets to pick without too much effort

Went there yesterday evening with my husband and friends. Being that it was Saturday, it was very crowded...And, the service was very slow...Other than that, the food was very delishious..I had the black bean soup..And, shrimp salad..The shrimp were large and very fresh..Their homemade potato chips were delish...Lastly, I would recommend that you come during the week when it is not as crowded...

Not impressed. Ordered salad, it looked very plain and a day old. Black bean soup had no flavor. It was more like a side order of beans. Ordered vegetable paella it had no flavor, underseasoned and vegetables were frozen not fresh. I expected better food from such a nice looking establishment. I will not be coming here again.

Well you are taking that ugly chick out because she is "easy" and dont want to hit up your usual spots in Brooklyn but you still want to show you that youre not ashamed to be seen with her in public? Then this is your spot. Try the sangria and paella w/lobster

A place that people make you feel appreciated, and that they will do a lot to make sure you will have a pleasant experience. I felt like each one of the people who work here care about the place, and personally care that you will enjoy dining at Real Madrid.

Great as always! Seafood was fresh, great flavor and nice size portions. One of the longest surviving restaurants on staten. If you havent been here, GO! If you have, keep going so it continues to stay open for many more years to come.

The food is pretty good, depending on what you order. The last dish i had was veal and shrimp ajillo and it was dry and tough. The waiters are friendly. The owners and the manager are snooty. The decorations are outdated and pretty tacky.

Sangria is amazing! Waiters keep topping off your glass, which is a nice change. The food is delicious, authentic Spanish food. Decor is a little outdated, but the restaurant is still very nice. I will definitely be coming back.

We had the Seafood Paella and another shrimp dish for dinner and the Shrimp Real Madrid was by far one of the best shrimp dishes Ive had in a while. The place was very large and nice inside as well.

Great paella. I really wanted to try the blue sangria, though. I ordered a half pitcher of it but the waiter brought out the red instead. That was the only disappointing part of the meal.

I asked for my pork chops to be cooked mediim rare and they were well done. Tje service was ok but the decor needs to be severely updated to reflect contemporary Spain.

Ive been coming here for 20 years, never a bad meal. Try the octopus and blue sangria for something different. The islands best for Castilian cuisine.
