Boccone, Selden NY 8 out of 10 This was an unexpected surprise. The ironic part is, that I wasnt even going to review this place, but the food and the service were so good that I decided last minute that I had to share what a great find Boccone in Selden NY is. Excellent service and excellent food are hard to find. If we leave a restaurant experiencing just one, we are content. When we are lucky enough to get both pieces, we just had an exceptional time. Boccone had some really classy touches, like lemon/lime infused water instead of just the standard plain water. A stunning white stone wall, that sparkles with the high hats. A full bar to the rear, and happening vibe. People were sitting down, carrying out, and enjoying a great bite with friends in the neighborhood hot spot. The SERVICE: A manager on the floor overseeing everything, and checking in with the tables to make sure all the guests were happy. The waiter was attentive, and friendly. The staff behind the pizza counter thanked us for coming, and asked if the food was good. This felt like eating at your brothers restaurant. Remember they had no idea that they were being reviewed. This was great service! The MEAL: The food at Boccone was delicious, and the portions were huge. Tortellini Bolgenese was rich, and bursting with meat. The sauce felt classic, and brought images of Nonna in the back stirring the pot. Chicken Francese w/ Roasted Potatoes was far better than we have tasted in five star restaurants. The chicken was tender, the coating perfect, and the sauce was creamy with bursting with lemon. It was that sauce that prompted this review. Some places just can not make sauce. We have become so used to undercooked, over floured, or slimy corn starched lemon sauces, that discovering this perfectly balanced sauce in a strip mall was so unexpected. The roasted potatoes were also a must try! The pizzas, rice balls and assorted italian specialties in the pizza window were hard to resist, and we look forward to trying them out in the near future! I gave them a rating of 8 out of 10, because we did not sample enough of the menu to fully review them. Cheers to Boccone in Selden NY! Amazing service & amazing food.

Went there to eat once and loved the food; we order delivery from here too much now. At first it was just pizza (have to try their grandma pie), but I love their garlic knots and this flank steak panini they prepare... They have this sauce that comes on the side that is amazing. I have to say, that ONE time, a pie was delivered to my house and my roommate thought that it looked like it was thrown around the back seat of the delivery car. I told him to get over it, it looks fine and started to eat. Meanwhile, my roommate called Boccones and complained -- and this is why I bring this up, they wanted to send us a new pie, even though he told them I already started eating. We were so caught off-guard; they sent a new pie and more garlic knots. Knowing how, "blunt", my roommate can be, I am surprised that no one ever got rude on the other side of the phone. Their food and customer service is phenomenal, and yes they can get busy, but they dont "BS" you. If I order delivery, they tell me how long it is going to take. I always use their pies for work functions.

started off great when they first openned.. we were regulars.. however, one night at that place my food had a rather large and rather sharp staple in it.. after sharing this fun experience with management they did nothing at all about it.. as if it was a regular occurrence. it took weeks after that to get over the grudge but decided to give pizza another chance (at that time the pizza was on par with amicis, but they delivered and amici didnt).. sadly though, their pizza gradually diminished in quality.. especially the dough .. pizza was rubbery and hard to chew..

Excellent service! Everyone is friendly and extremely competent! I went with 5 of my girlfriends, and everything we ordered was amazing! This restaurant has an awesome menu that offers both traditional and creative Italian dishes at a very reasonable price. I have been an Emilios girl for years now. However, my past few times there I was disappointed in the wait staff, and noticed that portions are getting smaller, and prices are getting higher. After experiencing Boccone, I will now be a "regular!"

Very poor customer service! My wife had an incident with a discourteous kid at the counter. When she called back out of courtesy to tell the Owner, his response was "Have a little more understanding", and hung up! Obviously , he does not appreciate loyal customers, and the value of business these days. The pizza was not bad, But there are plenty of other pizzerias with better management in the area. If the owner continues his mind set of not caring , Im sure this place wont last.

I ordered a whole pizza to go. While I was waiting, I was impressed that they served single slices on real plates. Then, I was disgusted. The girl behind the counter sprayed a glass cleaner on the counter next to the slice pies shielding them only with a rag. That said the full pie was good, but I doubt Id return, and if I do I will NOT ever order a single slice there.

Usually their pizzas/service is fantastic. Tonight however, I ordered a large pie and salad for delivery and at 1 hour and 20 minutes, it still had not arrived and the girl answering the phone told me "sorry, they had been busy". I called back twice and finally just cancelled me order. Sorry, that doesnt cut it. I will never order from there again.

Nice people, good food, and absolute masters of under promising and over delivering... Every time they deliver, they say an hour it will take, and then, no more than 30 minutes later, my food is here. I have absolutely no complaints.

Excellent pizza and they deliver!! Also have to mention that the customer service is terrific - had a minor mix up with my order and they sent a new pie fast! Definitely recommend this place. Cant wait to check out the dining room.

I was stunned by how delicious the pizza was! Usually, you can only find pizza this great at places where you have to dine in because they dont deliver. I ordered a pie on Saturday that blew me away. Cant wait to order again.

My favorite pizzeria in the area! Great service & always clean... Plus, my little girl loves coming here when daddy works late & cant have dinner with us:)) We also LOVE the live singer on Wednesday evenings--nice touch!!

I have been getting take out from here for quite awhile. The pizza is always very good! Take out dinners have been hit or miss ..but redemption tonight! The pasta Leonardo and veal parmigiana were excellent!

This place is the worst the pizza it didnt taste all that bad but nothing special. The worst part of it was all of the toppings fell off the pizza and so did the cheese I wont be ordering from them again.

I would not order pizza from them again. The sauce taste almost store bought, and the procutto was bad almost taste rotten. For a NY pizza this would be at the bottom of the list.
