We made dinner reservations on Feb 12 for Feb 13. At the time of our reservation we reserved a booth. The receptionist took our reservation and didn’t hint to us at that time that it would be a problem. When arriving at the restaurant on the 13th the hostess was willing to seat us in a booth for two. The booth was tiny and not to our liking. We asked if we could be seated elsewhere requesting a larger booth. After being told the larger booths were for a party of four and they were expecting to be busy they could not accommodate us. We stated that a table would be fine if the booth was not available. We were then seated at a table in a back room with three booths running down one wall, three down the opposing wall and three tables down the middle. It was quite cramped to say the least. The table next to us was occupied by a family with a wild child who kept bumping into my chair and crying the whole time we were there (not much you can do about that), but after surveying the room it was noticed that three of the six booths were occupied by couples and not parties of four as the manager had stated. When seeing that we decided we were going to leave. The manager didn’t even come to our table to see what the problem was. We had to request her presence to voice our displeasure. I realize that she was busy, but if I were a manager I would want to know why people are walking out of my restaurant unsatisfied. I would call her demeanor “polite rudeness” and it was quite obvious that she didn’t care. Her only goal was to flip tables of large parties as fast as she could. She did apologize, but her sincerity was questionable and we were extremely insulted. We were return customers to the restaurant and all other visits were quite satisfying. The food is quite good, the decor absolutely stunning, and my wife and I are big fans of Chef Jimenez’s style of cooking, but after this little incident I can honestly say I will not be back. Gone too are the gift certificate purchases and the recommendations to friends and family. I would rather frequent an establishment with mediocre food, gray walls with no decorations as long as we were treated with dignity and respect. I felt we did everything right. We made our reservations early and stated our preference. If the staff was unable to accommodate us it should have been addressed at this time, not the night I take my wife out for her Valentine’s Day dinner. My sole recommendation would be to teach your hostess and manger multitasking, customer satisfaction and decision making skills, because they were completely absent during this fiasco.

I have eaten at La Puerta Azul a while back. However, on this foggy Saturday evening, myself and my boyfriend decided to just stop by and have a drink or two. We walk in at approx. 9:30 pm and the place is dead. There is a half decent 3 piece band playing cover music in the corner. We grab a seat at the bar, and a bar back is vigorously cleaning the bar area, and did not even glance up at us. We waited a couple of more minutes and the most miserable bartender approached us. Did not great us or introduce himself. He asked us what we wanted to drink, without even cracking a smile. He poured our drinks and then proceeded to ignore us as he also cleaned the bar area as if closing for the evening. We were the only people at the bar and it would not have hurt him to start a little small talk or be even a bit friendly. About 15 minutes later 2 gentleman walked in and he treated them the exact same way. I feel better that it wasnt personal. There is a reason this place has no night life. What a shame that such a good establishment food wise, has such a horrible member on their staff. When leaving the two hostesses were at the door and never once looked up to say goodbye or have a nice evening. I might come back for the food, but will never visit the bar to enjoy a drink with the not so friendly staff.

Worst restaurant Ive ever been to. Seats ripped upon sitting in booth. Waited over 10 minutes for someone to walk over to the table. Received chips and salsa, the salsa was pasty no flavor. Then waited another 5 minutes for someone to bring us water. Had ordered 2 drinks, and we had to flag down a waitress bc we never received our drinks. When the finally came they were very sour and had to send back and get classic margaritas. I had to flag down a server to order food and she seemed lost. Had Ordered 2 chicken burritos and they were cold and very bland in flavor. Left without finishing food, worst $60 Ive spent . I highly recommend going somewhere else. PS - worst music around. The lady singing sounded like drunken karokee and should have been put out of her misery

To be honest I feel as if the service sucked we came in ordering two margaritas one mango one jalapeño the waiter brought them both over the jalapeño one was very mild as we verbally asked them to make it stronger and they did but came back with the drink jalapeños were gone we had also verbalized we had a child and to please rush our order the waiter said we were the first ticket of the evening so there wouldnt be a long wait by any means a couple came in 10 minutes after we did and order almost the same things we did theres came out first we wait about 20 minutes longer and nothing still we asked twice in the 20 minutes as to why our food still wasnt out so we ended up leaving the restaurant with out eating over an hr waiting to eat Unexceptable

Eating at this restaurant was a complete waste of my time. It was an embarrassment to have to wate over an hour for my food. The waitress was inattentive, unfriendly and just seemed confused. The service was as bad as the cell phone service in the area. We ordered a "sprite" but it tasted like seltzer. The food was not worth the wait at all. The meat was over cooked and flavorless. The portion of the tacos were tiny and they were not gratifying. It was a Sunday night it was not overly crowded but the experience was not what it should have been. The resturaunt was not properly staffed. After eating there about 10 minutes ago I am getting a stomach ache and I am not surprised. Dont waste your time eating here.

Went on a Thursday night. It was incredibly busy. They were understaffed as far as wait staff is concerned, but that was not the case in the kitchen. This was my first time at the restaurant and two out of the four dishes we received were dreadful. Bland to the point of literally being tasteless as well as being under-cooked. One other tasted great, but was falling apart, and the last was spectacular. That being said, the server was excellent and dealt with the insane amount of tables with aplomb. I think we will try this restaurant again in the future, but not any time soon for the sake of being disappointed again so soon.
