If I could give this restaurant a lower score, I would. My friends and I dined at this restaurant today and were verbally accosted and harassed by the owner. One friend ordered the nachos, which came with liquid cheese (the kind you find at a gas station or a baseball game) rather than shredded cheese. She did not eat any of the nachos, and informed our server that she no longer wanted the meal. He asked if shed prefer a replacement dish, but at this point everyone else had finished their meals, so we asked for the check. The check came, and the waiter had removed the nachos from the check. It was at this point that the owner of the establishment came up to our table and yelled at us, asking why we thought we didnt have to pay for the nachos. We explained to her that the nachos had been taken off our bill. We told her the cheese was not what we had expected, and since the nachos were covered in it, there was no way to eat around it. She then told us that we should have read the menu (which did not state what kind of cheese was used on the nachos) and asked more questions about the meal. The manager became belligerent, saying she had to throw away a whole plate of nachos because we didnt want them. She then told us to never come to the restaurant again and walked away, cursing at us and calling us names. We were shocked that this was how the manager treated a customer who was not satisfied with their meal. Our waiter came over and apologized for her behavior, but the damage was done. When he went to the kitchen, we could hear the manager yelling at him for taking the nachos off of the check. We felt bad for our waiter, who obviously knew that his manager was in the wrong. My friends and I were treated with extreme rudeness and disrespect and when we later called to inquire as to why we were treated as such, the manager claimed we were teenagers trying to start trouble. Were all women in our twenties, but why would it matter if we had been teenagers? That is still not the proper way to treat a customer, especially one who was unsatisfied with their meal. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, simply due to the way we were treated by management. If anyone is looking for a good Mexican restaurant close to here, try Mole Mole, which is a few miles up route 9, across from Marist College or Cafe Maya, in nearby Wappingers Falls. Both have much better, more authentic Mexican food, and certainly better customer service (though it isnt hard to beat Salsa in that department). One final thought: What self respecting Mexican restaurant serves nachos with cheese that comes out of a can? If my friend had wanted to eat that, she would have gone to the Mobil station next door and gotten her meal from there.

Awesome Mexican place. Having just moved in the area from living in L.A. my whole life where you can find terrific authentic Mexican food just about anywhere, it seemed like no one we tried in NY knew how to make good Mexican food...until coming here. Im glad Im wrong. Guacamole = very good. Salsa = very tasty. Trust me, you wouldnt think youd have to rate salsa but the last "Mexican" place in Fishkill we went to before this made theirs with ketchup (I know, who does that???), my wife loved the fajitas (very well seasoned), and my bistec tacos were great. If they start serving Jamaica or Tamarindo everyday, this place will be perfect in every way. The owner is from Puebla (Ive visited D.F., Puebla and Cuernavaca before) and its obvious shes sticking to her roots because the food is just like I would expect of someone who grew up there. All in all, I would recommend this place and we will be bringing our friends from here and CA when they visit. Im not sure why a person (previous post) would want everything fried. ??? This is not bar food, its Mexican food. Suspect the competition wrote that? P.S.: Our server and the manager on duty were very friendly and accommodating, even though we came in 25min before they closed on a Sunday night (just got back in from Manhattan) Service = Exceptional.

Ordered on cinco de mayo at 5:20 for a $55 order for delivery. Risky, but they took our order and said it would be an hour and a half. Two hours later, we called but the phone was busy. Until 10 PM we tried to get a hold of them before ordering pizza instead. The phones were constantly busy or went straight to voicemail and we never got a call saying our order would be late or wouldnt make it. When we called back on the 7th (because they were closed on the 6th and we left a voicemail that they never got back to us on) we spoke to the owner and she made excuses and said two delivery orders werent fulfilled that night. She offered us a $10 gift card, refused to give us our order from two nights before, and even suggested we were lying about it all. Didnt handle it well AT ALL and we were extremely disappointed with the whole ordeal. Im sure the food wouldve been delicious, had we received it. Even more disappointing than not getting the food was how the restaurant handled it (or didnt).

Today is Cinco de Mayo and I always celebrate at a Mexican Restaurant near my home in CT. However, Im in Highland, NY and googled Local Mexican Restaurants and "Salsa Maria Mexican Restaurant " was a nearby option. I decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo there and it is a very small clean place. The decor was simple Mexican, but authentic. The gentleman behind the bar was very nice and took my order right away. A few minutes later a woman (I assumed the woman who made the dish) came out to serve my order. She was very pleasant and the food was served beautiful on the plate. The food was fantastic, delicious, authentic Mexican, and priced very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place as a Mexican Restaurant that you should try. I dont think you will be disappointed! ☺

Took nearly 40 minutes to get food in a not so packed restaurant. Waitress was nice. Chef was arrogant. Only wanted to cook the way he wanted. Seafood chimichunga was just wrong! Ugh. Rice and beans was good. The first margarita was the bomb, but the second which was free because it took too long was terrible and there were 2 bugs with wings floating around in it. No manager came to apologize, but the waitress did. I wouldnt go back. If you know good Mexican food, you would know that while Salsa is hot and fresh, the taste is mediocre. I was not pleased, and would not recommend.

1st time eating there bad experience. The sangria had something that looked like blueberry. When I asked what was it, no one knew what it was. How could you not know whats in your food. I had chicken enchilada and it had a joint bone in it, and food was warm I didnt eat the rest. My lady had a cold burrito wrapped in aluminum, kind of tacky. At least they took care of us. We just paid for our sangria. I wont go back. Sorry.
