Ive eaten here now 5 times since its opened. I based my review on the food and the wait staff, both were fantastic and made up for the horrid host staff. The host staff were incredibly rude, sat people out of order, every single time. We were told twice if we had called ahead we could have gotten on the list sooner, when we actually call ahead we were told that they dont take call aheads. They will tell you the wait is 45 minutes but has been over an hour and a half. Ive worked in the restaurant business for 8 years and there are hostess apps that could do a better job. Been told theres 1 more 2 top then us, then people walk in , kiss the hostess on the cheek and get seated right away.... On the plus side the food is impeccable, drinks are very good, and the wait staff makes up for any frustrations you may have had. Its why we keep coming back and recommend it to friends. Great addition to Patchogue! UPDATE: With the new hostess app the system runs much smoother. Thank you so much for implementing that! Like we had said before, great addition to Patchogue! Side note...please bring back the lobster eggs Benedict, love it!

A group of 7 of us visited Toast. We called ahead to see how long the wait was and we were told to download the NoWait app. (Very helpful) Upon arriving and waiting for about 25 minutes (which was expected) we were sat. The decor was pretty nice and interesting- however it was brutally hot inside. They have very large fans going, but I think its unacceptable to have your patrons sweating while eating breakfast. The lemon mimosa was DELISH and everyone else enjoyed their orange mimosas and coffee. We ordered breakfast- we knew it would take a while to get our orders as it was very crowded, but it took just under 30 minutes to get our food. Between some of our poached eggs being over cooked, toast being burned and English muffins being rock hard- we were less than pleased. We wanted to order more mimosas and coffee- but our waitress could not be found. (It didnt help that the waitstaff can wear whatever random tshirt they are in the mood to wear). We paid. We left. Maybe well return for dinner or lunch one day.

where to begin... first we start off by making a reservation on their alleged no wait app total bs. You cannot call and make a reservation you have to download this app which has made my phone go crazy several times. We were informed upon putting out information and it would be a 90 minute wait we patiently waited. We show up to the restaurant to ask them how much longer it would be after we had not received a text message they informed us we never checked in which means you have to go inside physically check in and then wait an additional 90 minutes. Completely infuriated at this point we waited again to then find out the 90-minute wait have been pushed to 120 Minutes! The food is ok there but not worth waiting a total of 3 hours for. The staff is completely incompetent. We are now eating at Peters luncheonette up the road we were set down in 30 seconds. Our food in front of us and still have yet to receive a text message saying our table is ready at toast now over 3 hours later.

Every time we come here the hostesses have a real hard time discerning reality from fantasy when it comes to time. A 15 minute wait actually means anywhere from 30-55 minutes. When you return to ask them after waiting 15 minutes they tell you it will take...you guessed it, 15 minutes. After 30 minutes yup another 15 minutes. After 45 minutes dont waste your time. If we were told the truth we would have gone somewhere else and ate in the time it took us to wait. Oh, and the dismissive, " how dare you ask" attitude of both hostesses is really inviting. Overall if you would like to be throughly frustrated while waiting to eat, be lied to and generally mistreated by the hostesses and then receive average service and food, this is the place for you.

Made reservations using the no wait app and it said there was a 90 minute wait and it gave us the time in which to arrive at toast for our table. We checked in early just incase our table was ready quicker than expected and when we checked in they said its another hour which we were already so outraged by. We waited and waited and when that hour passed she said another 30 minutes. Clearly we then stormed off and ate at the diner down the street that had our food in front of us within 10 minutes. I love toasts food but this is insanity the way they run, also the food takes forever to come out so theres no flow of people leaving. Its ridiculous. No ones food is worth that wait. Also HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THAT APP FOR ANY RESTAURANT

If ZERO was an option that is what this place would get. I walked out of this restaurant after waiting over 90 minutes to be seated. WITH the nowait app. I was informed when I checked in that it would be between 40-60 minutes. Got kicked out of line by the hostess "by mistake" and re-entered. It was like I had to go back in the Q at the end of the line. It is very clear that the people using the system need more training. From my experience it looks like a ploy to just make people feel like they are going to get service but actually its just the same run around. Dont employ a system of it is going to be ignored. Anyone who asks me will know my experience with this restaurant and the app.

Ive eaten at Toast in Port Jeff in the past and never complained. I expected to wait in Patchogue just like I did in Port Jeff, but when you are told 45 minutes and its an hour and a half it gets annoying. However, we werent upset because we knew we would get good food and service. The atmosphere didnt disappoint, but the food did. When you order poached eggs and theyre over cooked and send them back and they come back the same way, its unacceptable. The waiter checked to see if it came out better and we advised it didnt. No appologies and no compensation. Needless to say, for 2 people with drinks and overcooked food it came to $51.33. I wont go back.

Three of us went for lunch, about a 15-minute wait. That was expected as this place is new and not very big. Food was delicious; our group had a burger, the chicken and waffles and grilled cheese. Big mugs for terrific coffee. Staff was very friendly. Only complaint -- and this is a priority -- is the music is too loud. The acoustics arent great to begin with and the loud music makes it difficult to carry on a conversation. If they lowered the volume of the music, you could still hear it, but at the same time enjoy the people youre having a meal with without shouting to each other.

My party of 6 arrived at 9:30and asked for a table, knowing there would be a wait on a Friday morning here. We were told 10-15 minutes. 10:15 we were sat at a table for 4-5 after watching groups of two being sat at larger tables. As we walked past the hostess booth we watched them sit a group of 2 at a table capable of 8 and brought us back to squeeze us into this booth. Very poor management of table seating. Waitress was very polite and quick which made up for the horrible beginning of our breakfast.
