I stumbled upon this restaurant looking for an "organic" restaurant in the neighborhood of my hotel. Although Im not sure of their policy on serving only organic, I am sure that my dinner was made with high quality ingredients and by a competent chef. The menu has a variety of meals, from seafood and venison to chicken and mashed potatoes and daily specials of corned beef. Every dish seems to have something special, but not in a pretentious way. The menu for the restaurant is on their website, so one can decide for oneself if its expensive, but the prices are fair for the ingredients and quality. The staff was competent, attentive, and pleasant, but not exceedingly warm. That might only be the case with our server, and for me, a waiter/waitress who gets things right and on time is more valuable than a friendly server who makes inexplicable mistakes. The restaurant is informally split into two areas: the front with a bar, stools, and a few tables; and the back with a more elegant feel and larger tables. But even with the decor being so fancy, I did not feel uncomfortable with my boyfriend and I in jeans and nice shirts. On the night we visited, the fireplace in the farther section of the restaurant had a warm fire burning. The architectural details of the space are very romantic, especially the large stained glass windows backlit at night and the ironwork on the second level balcony (not sure if that is used for seating or special occasions). By the time we were done with dinner at 10, the bar was already a bit more lively and had a small, comfortable crowd.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for appetizers and drinks the weekend before St. Patricks Day. Everything was fairly priced for a busy, touristy area of Manhattan. I went with a chicken quesadilla and a glass of Pinot Grigio, and my boyfriend went with spare ribs and a beer. The quesadilla was crunchy on the edges and cheesy in the middle, and filled with a spicy salsa with flavorful onions and peppers, which had a smokey, grilled flavor to them. It had a freshly-cooked taste and looked carefully prepared — not just your typical bar food that’s greasy and quickly swapped together. I traded my boyfriend a piece of my quesadilla for a spare rib, and I must say, as a vegetarian of 13 years (I brought meat back into my diet in 2012) who is still picky with certain red meats, ribs being one of them, I LOVED these things. They hit the spot, and had a hint of saucy spice — no gamey taste at all, and they didn’t have that leathery texture I often find ribs have. The meat almost fell off the bones as if they were cooking in a Crock-Pot for hours (mmm).

worst experience ever! I am African American and i wanted to try out this restaurant because a co-worker had referred me too it and though it would be a nice place to go on a casual date. My friend and i gave it a shot. I ordered San Marzano Shrimp Penne and he Boneless Breast of Chicken Saute. My order didnt look anything like what was describe; it came with some type of tomato sauce. i didnt detect any Romano cheese; instead of broccoli i had some type of spinach mixed into the pasta. The overall meal was very bland and a waste of money. My friend didnt care for his meal either. We also order calamari as an appetizer and it came back very soft. I asked the waiter can it be made more crispy and it came back EXTRA crispy to the point it did not taste like Calamari but fried chicken; it was gross. I would never go to this place again...

I cant get over how I only just discovered Brendans thanks to a fellow Google City Experts recommendation. I totally expected it to be another dark Irish pub but instead, you walk into a space that looks like it was an old bank, with ridiculously tall ceilings (think 2-3 stories high) with medallions, huge light fixtures and stained glass windows. A nice combination of booths and table abound, with a second floor I need to pop up to. Delicious food, too. The Oriental Chicken Salad still has me licking my lips and youll laugh, but the table French rolls were FANTASTIC. Love it!

Its not bad at all, it just does nothing but be a very neutral venue. Great for a professional meeting where you dont want the distractions of personality or anything good/interesting. Its the default choice at my company - and the fallback when nobody has/is willing to offer any ideas or cant agree on a place. The bar is awkwardly laid out for gathering more than a few people and always crowded in the evening besides, the food wont offend you but wont do much else for you either, and everyone who works there is very nice and does a good job of making you experience pleasant.

My parents were in town and some relatives of us invited us for lunch there. They made a great choice! First of all, the place is beautiful! It looks like an old church with stained-glass windows, and a huge fireplace. It made me feel like I was eating in some historic place. Maybe I was? Second, the food is great! I had the Black Angus Steak, which was done like I wanted and was delicious. My parents took the Salmon. According to them - its the best salmon they ever had! The service was also great. Nothing to complain.

Personale cortese, servizio veloce, locale dallatmosfera rilassata e intima. Luci soffuse e candele ad ogni tavolo, acqua gratis come ogni locale (proviene dal rubinetto)... da provare, i prezzi sono comunque quelli medi di NY .

Absolutely the best steak I have had in a while. My wifes hamburger was moist and delicious. These folks know how to focus on locking in the foods natural flavors. I highly recommend this place and the price is excellent. We actually went both Friday and Saturday and ordered the same thing. We have eaten at the best and this one ranks in my top 5. Great job!! This is a 5 star place for a 3 star price in a very comfortable look.

We went into the city via train into Penn Station and before heading up to theatre stopped for lunch. Fantastic! The appetizers - wife had crab cakes & I the scallops Both came with a salad. Enough for a lunch. Did not have dessert but on average $6-$7. With a drink each & coffee total bill about $25 each. Ambiance clean and sleek - numerous tvs in the bar area and lovely fireplace in the back. Highly recommend.
