Dont trust the 5 star reviews - I was fooled because I was on the road looking for anything. Now looking back in retrospect, i see that the 5 star reviews are anonymous. Normally Ill leave a place alone but because they did that, and I dont want anyone else to fall into this trap, heres my take. It is in a strip mall next to a Dominos and a dosa place (which my colleague assures me is also terrible). Owner is nice enough. But there was no one there except one guy chatting with the owner, who looked at me funny. Menu had some salads, chicken, ribs. It is not a bbq specialty place though, despite the sign. I ordered a mozzarella captures and some baby back ribs, figuring it was safe. This place served me tough mozzarella and tomatoes with pickled peppers from a supermarket can (that I could barely eat, they were so disgusting). Well, I thought, it is a rib place. The ribs came, not in a rack, but in a cut -apart pile. A special style, I thought.. I took a bite. They were were dry and greasy. I was sad. The best part of the meal was the sautéed vegetables. All for 30! Im pretty insensitive to piece but I felt bad paying for this meal. And was afraid I might get food poisoning.

Tinos is a truly great place. I did a takeout last night and it was great (as usual). I ordered BBQ chicken, pork giambotta and veal ala Italiana. The portions were really big. But thats not the most important. It was all very tasty at a decent price. Today I went back, and got a blackened chicken sandwich for my lunch. I loved it! If you love local restaurants that serve quality food, you have to visit Tinos. It also makes a difference when the staff is very friendly. Thats also a reason to go back to Tinos! Tino is very thrustworthy. I forgot to take my credit card. When I got back the next day to pick it up, he would not give it to me, unless I showed my ID. I appreciated this. You can trust Tino!

Ive had better Portuguese BBQ in Newark - its not that far. But this place is close by so yeah judging by some of the reviews I decided to check it out. The ribs were ok and so was the sausage - tasted too salty and dry. And the pickled salad and the dry yellow rice didnt make it too appetizing. I said to myself this cant be real Portuguese no way. But hey, thats my take on it. I may not be a BBQ chef. but I make my own dry rub and sauces so I was disappointed. I give it 3 points for close proximity but thats being generous.

Has something changed? All these reviews say "awesome" and "cheap" and "terrific." I couldnt say that about the time I went at all. Overpriced food that I could make myself - and Id make it with better spices and less dry. Im no chef, so if you cant outcook me, dont expect my business. I was hoping to get a taste of Portugal and ended up wishing Id never tasted it.

Food is always good and prices are very responsible. However, the service absolutely sucks. The waiters are more interested in watching the game, then taking care of their customers. They fail at the basics like asking if everything is ok with your food and refilling your beverage.

We ordered the skirt steak which was cooked to medium and properly seasoned with the yellow rice. We also ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer. The skirt steak was good and so was the rice. But the shrimp was kinda rubbery and overcooked. Service on phone was good. Delivery was fast.

Pork Chops are just unbelievable and of course everything else. The platters are huge enough to fulfill a real man’s hunger. I would highly recommend it to eat in and take out. Another real review from a real local customer.

Best food in the parsippany area. I go there as much as I can .prices cant be beat for 8 bucks you can get a decent size sandwich and homemade chips . Or my favorite the pork cubes sautéed with potatoes and garlic wine sauce.

Having spare ribs rice and black beans and it is terrific! Oh and the portugese saloio bread ... its the best around and I lunch out every day in the area. Last time I had linguini with white clam and it was also excellent!
