Although my background is not Indian, I enjoy Indian food very much. I grew up in Queens, studied in Long Island and work in Manhattan. As a food fanatic, I have tried most of the top places in the city (including those off the radar). Food always needs its perfect drink that goes with it. This is the only reason I enjoyed getting my mixology license and studied wine and beer for fun. Delhi Heights has it all: excellent professional and respectful service, excellent food, and excellent Bartender. The bartender knows what she is doing; she takes care of her customers, will never put house vodka when you have requested a simple Grey Goose Cape Codder. She understands the difference between a dry martini and a very dry martini (most people ordering don’t) and will accommodate to whatever you want to order (if you want vodka with cola, she will say “OK!”) Most importantly, you will never have to ask yourself “is this is virgin margarita? I can’t taste the alcohol in it…” It just won’t happen here. You get what you paid for it. Did I mention that she is the only tall blond, blue eye girl in this Indian restaurant? She stands out. Conclusion: Great food, Service, and excellent drinks. I hope this review is helpful.

I ordered delivery through Eat24 (a Yelp service). First, the delivery time listed on the app was way off -- which means the restaurant marked it as "ready for delivery" 15 minutes too early, or the delivery guy was slower than expected. (Its the restaurant that provides expected delivery times, not Eat24 staff itself). The delivery guy called me when he arrived and spoke in such a muffled way that I could hardly hear what he was saying. He seemed to be interrogating me but apparently he was just telling me he was downstairs. When I picked up the food he said "give me tip," which is extremely rude. He pointed to the delivery printout saying that tips were in cash -- if he had just done that, and politely suggested that I could pay in cash, instead of forcibly demanding one -- I would have been more inclined to give him one. Im trying to limit my expenses so I dont usually tip on delivery. Yes, this is improper too, but there are more polite ways for a delivery person to ask for compensation.

This is no more Delhi Heights like it use to be before when the restaurant was started and was famous for its food and live gazals in weekend... the owner has changed ...menu is changed and chef staffs are changed..the owner is from Nepal and hence you will notice indo Chinese and some Nepal food items in menu...food is not at all proper Indian...Not tasty atall...it just have Indian name to attract Americans customers..and you will notice Nepal tv channels on tv inside..even crowd and staff too..its just because of reputed name of this restaurant in past owner did not change the name of this restaurant...but believe me there is nothing like Delhi or Indian atmosphere in the restaurant...if you notice in reviews too lot of people who have given good reviews are from nepal..may be owner ask them to give good reviews. But please its not Delhi heights..

Food was dry and bland. Had to send my Paneer Manchurian back twice. First to ask for sauce, since there were only dried bits of sauce and most of the paneer was totally dry and bland. Then to ask for the dish to be brought up to medium spicy as ordered, as the dish had absolutely no spice whatsoever even after the sauce had been added. Then the dish still came out completely bland. Not even a little bit spicy. The sauce was not cooked down nicely and had just been slapped onto the paneer with no spices added. It was inedible and bland. I didnt even take it to go. My friends noodle dish was also too dry and she had to add soy sauce to make it edible. I dont know what the good reviews are for... Decor? Appeal to white people who dont know good indian food? Not a good option for Indian Chinese at all...

Im also from the Toronto area and an Indian. The quality of the food, service and value all met or exceeded expectations Ive had, especially value. In a city where everything costs at least $20, Im glad to have been able to get an entree I love (butter chicken-chicken makhani) for $12. The service is a tad slow, in the winter time this place when I visit, has a draft from the glass windows so its disturbing. The live music during dinner is a GREAT addition to have, especially when with a party of 4 or more. It makes for a great atmosphere and he takes requests. The appetizers cost as much as the entrees though, and I think thats where they make their money, but all in all a great experience. One of the few places in the area that has a good value and small atmosphere.

Delhi Heights is my favorite lunch buffet in Jackson Heights. I find the selection more to my liking. Lots of curries and all parts of the meal from appetizer and salad to dessert. The buffet is like a party spread with the food with the sauces on the left and the dry food and dessert on the right. Its easy to go through 3 or 4 plates. My favorites are the pakoras, veggie pakodas, chicken tandoori, chicken makhani, goat curry, palak paneer, mixed vegetables, chickpea salad, chicken biryani, and moong daal halwa for dessert.

This place is billed as an Indian restaurant, but the really great stuff here is Indo-Chinese. Flip to the Indo-Chinese part of the menu and check out the wonton soup, the dry chili shrimp, or the hakka lamb. Really, you could pick an Indo-Chinese dish at random and come up with something delicious. This is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. The service is friendly, courteous, and quick, the atmosphere is good for friendly get-togethers, the decor is modern and appealing, and the food is to die for.

We visited this place last week in the afternoon, location-very likely to make people walk-in! But we found the food just palatable, nothing to really talk about. We went for the buffet, the menu did not have a lot of variety, usual indian menu. No desert or sweet!!! Nothing much on the appetisers as well. It was cheap at 10 dollars a buffet, but does nothing to your tongue!!! Wouldnt probably recommend anyone else or atleast not to go for buffet

Below average food, marination heavy on turmeric or yellow colour..for close to $10 you can go to taste of cochin in bellrose queens wth 10 additional dishes from north and south india..real gyd flavour.spinach had less oil(healthy) but tandoori chicken was horrible, tikka masala has fake taste but nice but rest everything has a ton of cream.even after 5 hours my stomach felt like i eat brick.not goin there again.

Only reason it got another star is its family environment... Food was OK, nothing special for the way its priced... And it lost two stars because their 15% service charge is mandatory even for party of two & if there is mistake (and it was by server!) in order before even served, u got to pay for it (replied when asked "its been made now!!!)... Never seen that anywhere

Delhi Heights is a small restaurant in Jackson Heights right off the Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Ave. stop. The decor is plain and simple but the food is loud. The flavors are intense and lovely with just the right amount of spice. Go for the goat curry, butter chicken or the old standby chicken tikka. Prices are $$, service is friendly and great for small groups.
