I went here with my girlfriend last night, and I have to say I came away quite impressed. The restaurant came to our attention through one of my girlfriends friends and we decided to give it a shot. We were unfortunately running a little late that night since both of us are graduate students and have a lot of late nights, but the maitred was perfectly fine and gave us a cozy spot a little separate from the other diners, which I appreciated quite a lot. Our waiter Chris showed quickly after that and quickly took our drink order and offered to bring some chips and salsa (go with the spicy! Its great.) as well as suggesting the tableside guacamole as an appetizer, which we accepted. He also was kind enough to provide, without prompting, little keychain souvenir lights to read the menu as it is a little dark in the restaurant. The guacamole was made right in front of us by our water with fresh ingredients. It was spectacular. We almost filled up entirely on warm tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa. In between waiting for our next appetizer, the tamales, we took in some of the decor and atmosphere. The restaurant seems like a fairly lively place, with a nice looking bar area in the front with two adjoining dining rooms towards the back of the space. The dining area is a little dimly lit, but it sets a somewhat intimate mood, punctuated nicely by individual table side candles. Decorations on the walls and various spaces was intricate and well-done. Nothing gaudy or boring. With the tamales arrival, we quickly dug in and found it be equally well presented as tasty. Our entrees includes the shrimp and scallops and an enchilada suiza. The enchilada was filled with some of the best chicken Ive had in awhile and the assortment of ingredients was good and fresh. As with other mexican food Ive had, it was heavy and cheesy, but this meal was particularly tasty and really hit the spot after a long day of work. The shrimp and scallops were excellent as well, however, the side they were served with wasnt particularly exciting. All in all, it was a good meal. After declining desert and asking for the check (not for lack of interest but simply too full... too many chips with that excellent guacamole!), the waiter came back with complimentary churros for each of us as well as another little souvenir, worry dolls. it was quite charming. This was one of the better restaurant experiences Ive had in the past few years highlighted by an attentive waiter, good service overall, and excellent food. Together, for 1 soda, 2 appetizers, and 2 entrees, the total was $75 (not including tip, which was well deserved by our waiter). I would definitely recommend a visit to this place, and judging from some other reviews, feel bad that some did not get to experience the same stellar service.

Simply put one the the best resturants I have ever been to. I dont say this casually either. I can be kind of a critic. Typically I hate paying for food that I can usually cook better at home. Having worked in the food service industry myself throught my life, my expectations seem to outpace my experiences at resturants. At Besito if Huntington, this was not the case at all. It was money well spent. The experience and ambiance, the food, the service, the wait time, the cocktails, were all overall, and, individually, exceptional. The staff is pleasant, bright with smiles, and accommodating. They are polished and polite, without being overbearing. This place should teach other restaurants how to win. The food was, again, exceptional. Flavor was spot on, and again, not overbearing nor over seasoned. The carne asada was the best I have ever had. #1 by a mile. I dont think Ill be able to tolerate it now even at some of the best other restaurants I know. They use a select and generous cut of skirt steak that is cooked to absolute perfected temp selection. The guacamole is delcious as they are known for. The drinks were generous as well without being overboard or too strong. The drinks taste and look well crafted. The sprits used tasted upper shelf and were blended perfectly. The decor is very nice and balanced. It blends nicely into the backround. Its has a modern Latin feel and authenticity without jumping out at you and being kitschy or gaudy. Besito will not disappoint and I encourage you to experience and enjoy it for yourself. Expect to pay $100 per couple + gratuity, but, willingly parting with your money as a wonderful way to eat and spend a night out. If your taking out or meeting a date or other couples or business associates for their first time, expect they will compliment your selection to spend the lunch or dinner at Besito. (We had dinner there at 6pm on Thurs.) Enjoy.

I dined at Besito with my girlfriend recently, and I have to say, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences in recent memory. The initial meal started out great, the crab cake was fantastic, and the guacamole was decent. The service was HORRIFIC. Our waiter who deemed it necessary to not use a notepad or pen was clumsy and had very poor etiquette. Not only did he screw up our order, but we witnessed him screw up the orders of three other couples around us. The food took absolutely forever to get, and when we got it, my girlfriends steak wasnt even cooked. Not like rare, but literally uncooked in the center, and it was stone cold. We absolutely never send food back, but because the steak was inedible, we had to. They took her food away, along with all of the sides, and took my meal to "sit under the heat". When we got our meals back, her steak was cooked decent, and my meal was absolutely stone cold. I ate some of it regardless and literally became nauseous and almost threw up at the table. After I felt slightly better I started having sharp pains in my stomach and we deemed it was best to leave. Here comes the kicker, the meal was $122. Heres the breakdown of our meal: 2 cokes 1 crab cake 1 table side guacamole 1 steak 1 enchillada I have no idea how $122 is justifiable for such a terrible meal, but rest assured I will never be dining back there again. Ive had $7 burritos from Chipotle that put Besito to shame.

The table side guacamole lived up to the hype I had heard; it was fresh and delicious. For lunch, I ordered the Taquitos de Pesacdo (fish tacos) which were served a little differently than Ive had at other restaurants. They were pretty good, though there were more corn tortillas than I needed, so I just ate the filling. Outside dining was full, so we sat just inside the open-air restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. I also like the extra touches Besito provides including the worry dolls that came with the check. I highly recommend Besito Mexican in Huntington, New York and am especially impressed with their service mission to children in Mexico. The money they donate provides 1,500 meals per week and employs cooks and other staff at an elementary school there, giving many children their only meal of the day. When I return to Long Island, I will definitely return to dine at Besito!

Besitos has always been a favorite of my wife and I We first were introduced to Besitos for restaurant week. I usually do not like going to a pricey place like Besitos for the first time unless I have some sort of discount, just in case I get burned. Well, it has been a love affair since then. My wife being born and raised in Mexico, truly loves Besitos food and so do I I usually have the Enchiladas suizas and my wife will have either the Tacos al pastor or enchilada mole poblano. Do we love it? We keep going back constantly. This place is definitely are go to place if we want great Mexican food on Long Island with a nice ambiance. My only negative is, they usually play Puerto Rican style music in the background.. Mexican music would put the cherry on top of the ambiance.
