The space is great for studying or hanging out, and the menu includes a wonderful array of drinks. The prices are a little steep for the neighborhood, probably supported mostly by the sound stage across the street. The only problem with this place is that about half the staff members are too cool for their own good. Im a neighbor and I go in a lot, and still the attitude seems to persist. For some reason some of the staff see fit to close up to an hour and a half before the official 8pm closing time. Odd behavior for a place with a beer and wine license.

I dont do much coffee drinking, but I love free Internet, and its right down the street from my apartment. great change of pace for me when I want to work but also want out of my house. This just in: mom tried their latte this morning and said it was the best she ever had. She was delighted by the little hearts in the top of the cup, and she loved their folk music from Appalachia. Extra start for impressing the hard to impress MamaP!! Now this is in: Ive come over to the coffee side. I know, I know. This is my go-to joint for iced coffee now. Awesome.

Was visiting Brooklyn and a friend recommended this place. Im a morning person, so this place was perfect for caffeinating me on an early Monday morning. The staff was very nice in an actually-nice-not-just-pretending-to-be-nice way. I had drip coffee and it was served in a clear mug. Sitting at Café Grumpy and doing a crossword puzzle made me forget I was just visiting. If a place can make me feel that way, its a special place.

4, because was not smth "wow" for me. Good space to work, but not enough sockets, mostly on the wall with small tables, so if you sit at a big tables in the middle, you dont have a chance to charge your device & limited with this fact. Really hope its me who just didnt find one:)Cappuccino is really really tasty- reach flavour, thick texture. But such a small cup - a bit overpriced to my opinion for this amount.

Cafe Grumpy serves high quality coffee and espresso drinks alongside a fairly limited selection of pastries. This outpost is spacious, with plenty of seating. Its a lovely spot to work or just hang with friends. Prices are on par with other high-end coffee in New York, e.g., about $4 for a cappuccino (2016).

Absolutely local with uber-delicious brewed coffee. One of my favorites in the whole city. And the almond croissant is wonderful too. Its kinda hard to spot this place since they really lack in signage. But on Saturdays its one of my favorite place to get coffee, read a book, and avoid too many people.

Probably the best coffee in Greenpoint, but on the expensive side and a bit out of the way. The vibe is weird and solemn with so many people on their laptops working/studying. Also, I hate that I remember Girls and therefore Lena Dunham each time I come here - really dampens the experience.

It is a schlep in the wrong direction for almost everything- work, apartment, boyfriends place, etc. YET if I can find the time their coffee rules! Fortunately some local Greenpoint spots have been helping Grumpy out and selling it -much appreciated

Loved it!! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing edibles ... Recommend: The flat white with a lemon raspberry ginger pastry. We were a party of four, another edible that was an absolute fav was the focaccia !!

Great coffee, pastries and atmosphere, best place to chill out with a book. Location is a bit far from main areas of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, a bit complicated for a daily basis if you not leave nearby.

This is my go-to cafe in Greenpoint. Free Wi-Fi and lots of tables make it an ideal place for having a productive morning. City-wide, Grumpy is one of my favorite small-chain cafes.

One of the best cafes out here with a really cool vibe and a great menu to match. Sunday brunches could get a bit busy but the food and company make it all worth the wait.

Coffee is good but the workers are usually miserable. Especially after getting a $3 tip to make 2 iced mochas, and after being told "thank you, have a nice day"..

If you love coffee you will appreciate grumpies. The taste of the coffee has the quality of chocolate, great aroma, my favorite coffee in NY.
