We purchased a 7 layer cake costing $27.00 from Spiga just yesterday to celebrate the birthdays of 3 family members. The cake was dry and stale. When we called today to let the bakery know, we were told "Oh, I watched them making the cakes myself. How could that be?" A simple "Im so sorry that happened" would have been nice. A refund or store credit would have been even better. So, thanks, Spiga for a gross, stale cake for our family celebration. Being Merrick residents, we would normally want to use our neighborhood vendors. Spiga will not be one of them.

One the best bakerys on the island! Or anywhere for that matter. From their breads & donuts to the best pignoli cookies Ive ever had.. The service is outstanding. I am always last minute, when i oder a themed custom cake for my sons Bday they always come through. Yesterday i forgot to order 34 themed CupCakes for my sons school (Captain Underpants) never heard of this character!.. they got to me today! Not only was my son thrilled with the way it looked..it was delicious! I highly recommend!!!!

I was visiting the in-laws and went looking for Napoleons. They had Italian Napoleons, which use cake instead of puff pastery (French). The frosting was kinda thin, and the custard was very doughy, not creamy. Not sure if this is for the type of Napoleon or the bakery. Otherwise, their selection is decent, staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The in-laws say the rye bread is really good.

I just had my one year wedding anniversary and we froze the top tier of our cake to eat a piece one year later....and oh my gosh...Amazingly soft and just as delicious as the day we said "I do". The owner is very accomodating . It was a beautiful cake in which they used fresh flowers. It was awesome. Thanks Spiga.

This place is high quality, very tasty baked goods and coffee. It is expensive though, and after my wife and I spent close to 20 dollars on a couple of coffees and baked goods we both agreed that it was overpriced per the quality. As such while this is good products I would say it has poor value.

Amazing place.....best Proscuitto bread I have had in a long time! The bread and pastries are good too, but also had a great gelato and cappacino! Its nice they give you a place to sit and enjoy their stuff (but it may make you want to buy more)!

Amazing pastries! Everything is delicious. The gourmet donuts are the freshest donuts that I have had. No after taste of baking soda or flour. Not greasy. Not too sweet. It was perfect. I would highly recommend this place

Great food, great staff. Im a fan of their Italian Napoleon pastry, rainbow cookie cake and thier cookies. They offer a lot of quality baked goods. They also offer gelato and cold mousse cakes.
