I have eaten at so many great Portuguese spots its hard to get a five star but this one didnt for a good reason. 1st, its not a take your mom for her bday spot. Its a order out place because the front is small with small tables. So order to go unless they are 2 or less in your party. No problem. I didnt want to sit. Next, prices are good. A bit more that I pay at my favorite spots in North jersey but still good for the portion. The Rice is amazing. Season perfect and cooked perfect. The veggies, potatoes are good. The beans need some help but then again my standards are high. They seem like they come out of the can. Theres barely any seasoning and no other veggies like garlic, onion you know to help naturally season it also. The garlic shrimp is a No Go. We ordered it and it was what weve never seen from all the traditional portugese spots weve ordered from. It seems to be small shrimps swimming in garlic water? Its should be like a shrimp scampi but it was far from a buttery or any other garlic saucy sauce. *shoulder shrug * Last is my favorite and the reason I go: good grilled chicken !!!! Ok, the chicken is fresh, and juicy and always H O T!!! But, its lacking A LOT of season!!! I couldnt believe it but since moving to south jersey Ive notice a lot of restaurants are like this down here. Ive never had portugese so unseasoned. It also is not grilled a bit longer to get those nice grill marks and crispy skin you can bite with the meat because it also full of flavor. Nope. You have to take the skin off. Its like the skin of baked chicken. I was disappointed with this. Whats the point of grilling? Never had portugese grilled chicken like this. I think they are catering to their environment and their taste buds which happens to be people who dont eat with much seasoning. Occasionally I go but they cant compete with Algarve and Valencias.

First off, I gave it an extra star because it is the only place in southern jersey to get decent Portuguese bbq. However, the food was okay. I ordered the chicken and port cutlets and Chourico Sandwich. I said Febras, but the guy who took my order did not know what I meant. Apparently, not Portuguese. So I was a little upset about that. Price was okay but cost a lot more than buying from newark for the same portion (2 very large sides). The first thing my dad said was they do not know how to cut a whole chicken. So it was hard dividing who gets what part. So, the food. The chicken was pretty good. Had this extra bbq sauce on it, which is not authentic Portuguese, but it was still good. The febras (pork cutlets) looked and tasted nothing like real Portuguese febras, but they still tasted good. On the other hand, the Chourico Sandwich was NOT Chourico. Sure it looked somewhat like it, but it tasted like BACON. Chourico does not taste like bacon. No clue where they are buying this meat from. I will never be ordering that again. You can order better Chourico from amazon (which I have). So, overall, good food. Great location. But still falls a little short of authentic Portuguese food from Portugal or even Newark Ironbound. If im craving bbq chicken and dont feel like driving all the way up north, ill still go to Brasas every time.

I ordered around 815 pm for take out. They apparently close at 9. Well I should up at 840 someone never cooked my order. (Which was a full tray of chicken and garlic and 1/2 of shrimp In garlic sauce). Well in stead of chicken and garlic sauce I received chicken garlic soup. With the tin filled with 97% water and garlic. It was boiled chicken, which everyone knows sucks. Good sides but I didnt spend $30 on sides and soup

Whatever spices they put on their burgers, this place quickly became my girlfriend and my favorite place to get them. Serving portions are large and the prices are reasonable -- just thinking about the burgers though, wow. I havent eaten the ribs, but my girlfriend swears by them. The place is small inside, so I suggest calling ahead and taking it out rather than eating in.

Great chicken great rice. Meatless ribs, & I Dont understand how the potatoes & onions were described as a hit or miss by the employee, yes clearly there was a lot missing but how do you give different portions on the same order & does that mean I can miss the check lol..... wont return a 3rd time.

The ribs and chicken are delicious, I usually get the half rack of ribs/half chicken. I also like their spanish fries a lot (similar to chips). This is a good spot for takeout (they have tables for dining in) and the prices are very good considering the taste of the food and the large portions.

Awesome food!!! They have tons of takeout, so there could be a wait if you are dinning in. No a/c inside, not sure if they have it. There are some tables outside, but this place is really more of a takeout place. Staff was very friendly and we had a good experience dinning in.

TERRIBLE PLACE!! I use to order food from there but 75% of the time they get the order completely wrong, last time I called I was placed on hold for 15 minutes just to hear them laugh at my frustration ... save your money place has been going down the hill since last year.

Food is great, unbelievably great....but the experience I just had with the guy on the phone, i will never go there again. I was threatened and treated so desrespectavely. He wouldnt give me his name, he was a younger guy pretty sure one of there delivery guys.

Man this place is great. Chicken, ribs, wings, shrimp cakes, cod fingers, salmon, rice, roasted potatoes, vegtanles. shrimp, lunch and dinner. Food is great.

Absolutely the best BBQ ribs and chicken on the planet! Also, great fresh vegetables, potatoes, rice, and beans! Highly recommended! !!!!!!!!!!
