Very bad experience with service. We arrived at approximately 6pm on Fathers Day. Waited for around 20 mins for a table. So, we looked at the menu for around ten minutes without anyone coming to the table to check on us or anything. That was the first flag. My hubby wanted to leave just because of that. We chew the fat with the two gentlemen sitting at a table next to us.So finally a gentleman brings us some french bread, and five minutes later the waitress comes in and takes our order. We talk with the guys and they leave and two females come in their place and sit down. Approx 10 minutes later, we over hear the waitress ask them if they ordered shrimp, they reply yes. Ten minutes after that, here comes their plates. So now, we have been there waiting for our food about 45 mins after weve ordered. Waitress comes to us and says "oh, theyve run out of shrimp and they were peeling them when I left". REALLY!?!?!?!? And the two ladies who came 45 minutes AFTER us are enjoying their dinner already??????? And I am waiting for peeling shrimp????? So what is that about? An hour and forty five minutes after weve arrived to eat we pay for our salad and start to leave and unbeknownst to me, my husband tips the waitress $10!!!!!!! Im like, FOR WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? We needless to say will NEVER return, I wouldnt care if Gordon Ramsey was cooking the food himself! Sux.

HUGE disappointment unkempt. dirty napkins, etc on floor. inattentive. i knew it was sub par when they brought out the table bread and NO OLIVE OIL. just the plain ol butter like you get in any ol joe shmoe diner. LAME. luckily, the next table over, which apparently had not been FULLY bused, had a bottle of olive oil and shakers of oregano and red pepper flakes... so, we snagged them and were able to dip our bread in something tasty. im sorry, what kind of ITALIAN restaurant worth a hill o beans doesnt offer olive oil with the bread? we felt forgotten. but the big giant table of an obnoxiously loud family got PLENTY of service. mustve know the owners, cause... oh yea... the owners went by and chatted with them. WE, on the other hand, had to get the waitress from another table to get OUR waitress to come by and refill our drinks. WE were practically invisible. which is too bad, cause my parents are here from outta town and were really looking forward a nice italian dinner in a real genuine italian restaurant. anyhoo, food: nothing special... AT ALL. sorry. im sure the owners are nice people, but come on... ive been wanting to try this place forever. boo. call Restaurant Impossible. or at least, watch the show.

The food is great, but ever since Cheryl left…( I think that was her name, older woman with glasses and a great smile,) the service has been sub par. If there is a delay in the order, which is usually the case, the waitress doesnt bother to touch base and to inform you. On a couple of occasions Ive come in and sat down and had to wait 10 minutes just to get a menu. If there is bread left over the waitress doesnt bother to ask if she can wrap it for you, she just dumps it in the garbage. On the plus side the food is excellent and the prices are right. I guess you cant have everything.

While the pizza was good, the service was not. Some may consider it trivial, but I ordered an iced tea...I only got tea, no ice. The tea did bring a lemon which improved the taste...but it did not make up for the lack of ice on an ICE tea. The waitress never came to check on us. She didnt give us a spatula for the pizza after she specifically said, "careful, pizza is hot". The only reason this review gets one star is due to the bread. That bread was good. Still doesnt make up for the ice

The Best Italian Restaurant in South Orange, NJ. CASH ONLY, NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED. BYOB. The food here is great! Its always busy, so theres usually a wait for a table and the waitservice can sometimes suffer. But if you want good Italian food, you need to try everything on the menu at this family owned restaurant and keep going back until youve accomplished it!

As everyone else has said, GREAT pizza... thin, bar-style crust with delicious cheese and sauce. Doesnt need toppings! Other standouts... excellent fried calamari and the BEST Chicken Murphy Ive EVER had (I like the HOT version, but the sweet is good too). Definitely crowded and cash-only, but we travel 45 minutes to eat here and its *always* worth the trip!

Reservoir is a hidden treasure in South Orange NJ. This place feels like youre having dinner at your grandmas house. Its lively, familial, incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! Great for sharing. Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants Ive been to.

Probably the best pizza place in a state known for its pizza...when I lived 1200 miles away and cam,e to visit I made the resevoir my first stop off the airplane for the best pizza and sausage in New Jersey and close to everyone. Just be sure to bring cash because the resevoir doesnt take charge card

Been eating here since we moved to town in 1986. Portions are generous and the food is great. Service is sometimes slow, but everything is cooked to order, so its to be expected. If you like garlic, try the Chicken Scampi! The Arugula Salad with grilled chicken is a meal with leftovers for lunch.

Horrifying service, the lady never once asked how we were doing and spent her time speaking to her friends who were sitting next to us. Pizza was decent but not anything special.

A very "Jersey" experience. Try the Tony Salad, or the fried chicken cutlet sandwich. Decent pizza and pasta. No credit cards, no liquor license.
