I hate to write a bad review but I just feel given my experience I had to write this review. Normally if I cant give 4-5 stars I just dont review a place. Service, slow fairly friendly. Place was decently busy it was Taco Tuesday in July and the LBI area is always busy this time of year. Apps, we tried the Jersey Sweet Corn fried app and the Bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños. So the roasted sweet corn was about 3 kernels in a corn meal based hush puppy. Didnt taste bad but definitely not as described on the menu. The BBQ dipping sauce was excellent. The jalapeños were stuffed with a cream cheese mix but had zero not one bit of bacon inside or wrapped around them. Main course, I ordered 3 tacos, which overall were lot that bad, the mahi was standard fried, presentation was eh to say the best. The toppings were sloppy and falling out the taco, too much mayo/dressing and just became a mess to eat. Wife ordered the pull pork tacos, the pork was Tasty but the topping and presentation was sloppy. Made a mess and so much dressing you lost the taste of the pork unless you removed it. Sides steak fries, typical potato wedges cooked well and had good flavor. Probably the best thing of the meal. Second side macaroni and cheese (I know how do you mess up Mac n Cheese?) well the outside was burnt and dried out complete the noodles were like leather. Inside the center was ice cold and the cheese was completely bland without flavor. Lastly the bathroom, ya small shared not very clean. When I see a dirty bathroom I almost want to avoid eating here but given all the great reviews I thought I would give it a chance. Boy was I wrong. Top it off next days digestion wasnt comfortable. Couple of runs to the bathroom early in the morning made me wish I would have eaten somewhere else. Again I dont take leaving these reviews lightly, but when its this bad... I feel I have to let people know. You can read my other reviews I travel often and love to give places good reviews whenever I have a pleasant experience. We will not return.

Mediocre. I have heard first hand rave reviews of Shore Fire Grille...and boy were we hugely disappointed! We anticipated spot-on flavors, something we can say we would go back to....we walked out saying "meh...not impressed and we will never be back". Their $3 side of cole slaw was not only over priced but BLAND and tasted borderline "gone bad". Two people explained it is because they use Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Thats all fine and dandy but they were missing the classic slaw spices. A bit of celery seed would have helped tremendously! My $16 salad with seared tuna was ok...typical of many restaurants though they charge you a ton for basically a pile of baby lettuce and arugula with a few extras thrown in. The presence of tomato was microscopic, barely any cucumber too. My honey had the special for $11...some sort of Buffalo chicken burger with bacon, sauce, etc. Kind of sloppy but with buffalo anything, that is to be expected. He says it was ok...only ok. Oh...to start, we had cups of lobster bisque...rather large cups because they were those little stoneware bowls with handles...and they charged $7 each for what was a bland creamy tomato-ish bisque with a few microscopic pieces of lobster. Again, lacked flavor. Want to just eat so you wont die? Go there. Want to have your socks knocked off with how good the place is?? Skip it.

We went for Mothers day Brunch and it was a horrendous experience. We waited for someone to come over to take our drink order and when the server finally did she never once came back. I had to go up to the counter (where I saw the wait staff just leaning against the counter) to get refills. The buffet food was cold and my mom could barely cut through her chicken. There was a decent omelet station but the gentleman kept forgetting who ordered what omelet and my mom never got hers. We watched as other servers offered their tables a made to order pasta bar and no one ever offered us anything. Our table was never cleared so I finally brought up the same plate to the buffet line (which I believe the health code outlines that it is good practice that someone inform the customers that clean plates are available when returning to self serve food areas). I actually watched another table clean off their own table and they had to ask for clean plates. Needless to say I was upset that our special meal did not turn out as planned. We will not be back.

My meal was delicious got a salmon burger which you can customize! However my husband ordered a wrap which was good until he felt something slimy which turned out to be avocado. No avocado in the wrap (there wasnt supposed to be) it was only on the outside Cleary from a dirty knife. He was so grossed out he had it sent back. Cross contamination is a very dangerous thing all chefs/cooks should be very aware of. My husband has been a chef for 10 years so he was especially grossed out being it was a sanitary issue. Our server was very apologetic offered us something else(we had to leave and my husband just had no interest because he was just disgusted). Then she took it off our bill. The customer service was great and they immediately dealt with the situation. However sanitization is something we always expect at ANY food establishment. The restaurant it self is very clean this is obviously a dirty cook not wiping their knives. Which is why Im giving a 3 star review as opposed to a 1.

From the earliest days of Tim smoking racks of ribs and pulling epic mojo pork, you could smell that Shore Fire Grille was destined for really good things. The staff on hand are knowledgeable and friendly. As a fellow foodie and cook, its nice to talk with the staff and owners about the particulars of the food experience they aim to offer. Their menu items are priced appropriately given that so much of it is fresh and made to order. The burgers and brisket stand up well enough on their own and you are best served to start there. They have a great veggie (black and white bean) burger, darn good tacos and a array of yummy appetizers, seafood and salad type items. Good for families and groups on the mainland and their Surf City (Long Beach Island) location. In a world full of chains and fly-by-night operations, this a spot that locals and visitors HAVE to be familiar with.

Food was awesome, I will say. However, our service was upsetting. We jare new to the area, and we are an interracial couple. Manahawkin is not diverse to begin with, but to make it worse, we are starting to experience extremely unpleasant racism, both discrete and blatantly obvious. It makes me really sad. Here, our server greeted me, completely ignored my boyfriend. He smiled at her, he asked her questions (he is a hard core foodie), and she was ICE cold. However, she was pleasant with me, and I am no where near as friendly as he is. We watched a table with a mother and daughter receive excellent service from our server, so it wasnt just her "natural disposition." Its really hard for me to watch my boyfriend go through this, being he is such an amazing person. We loved the food, but we wont be back. :(
