Thats our wine list, guys. 5 bottles to choose.. in wine bar. We were offered the worst round table in the middle of the hall, while it was almost empty on Tuesday evening. Table was shaking and paper sheets (4 on the table) always were trying to move and fall down. We asked for water after 30 mins of sitting there, while they were searching for wine we asked. We had two waiters, manager, bas boy and bartender girl. They didnt communicate so everyone came with the same questions. We got our wine after 45 MINUTES! Food wasnt bad though. But we finished appetizers before they brought any drinks. Will never come again. Worst dinner and worst service in my life. Wine bar with no wine, they even dont know how to serve it properly. Place in general comfortless and look cold.

I showed up here at around 10:15pm on a Thursday... Suggested sitting at the bar because of the possibility of poor table service, my girlfriend insisted we sit outside because the weather is nice. Derrick, our waiter, was as attentive as youd expect at a 5 star restaurant at rush time and the food (buffalo wings and burrata mozzarella) was tremendous. I absolutely will be back after not visiting the place for 2 years living 2 blocks away, I feel like these poor reviews have duped me. Spoke to the manager, Tom, about my experience and he seems to have all of the right ideas. Really fantastic experience overall, could not have been more impressed.

Each part of Grove square has its advantages and disadvantages. Coffee shop has cheap beers but theyre very small. Its a good jump off spot if you want to buy a round and get a beer in everybodys hand. The pizza place is good for a late night slice, reasonably priced. Bistro has pretty good food and a quieter environment if youre sitting down with 1 or two other people. Also the outdoor seating is clutch if you can find an empty space. Location is the key to Grove Square. Right off the Path its great for the beginning or end of the night as you trek further up Newark Ave or Grove street. Glad this place is here

I had a nightmare today. We were having dinner. The waiter kindly refreshed our plates, which was nice. But my friend found that her plate had chewing gum on the rim at the bottom. CHEWING GUM!!!! Thats the most disgusting thing to see around the dinner table. Whose was that??!!! Oh no I dont want to know that. Whats worst was that we didnt know whose plate was the one under her plate, the one had contact with the gum on the surface where we had our meal. I almost threw up, or I should have, maybe. This is totally unacceptable.

Have been here about 6 times so far. (all within the last year). I have enjoyed everything I have eaten to this point. The Mussels Marinara are some of the best in the area. The Pasta dishes and the eggplant are great as well. A couple of suggestions however - 1) What happened to the cocktails menu? You used to have one, now you dont? whats up with that? You had some good drinks on there. 2) Your food menu itself is a little sparse. Not as much of a selection as I would expect from the kitchen/space you have.

The Bistro, the Coffee Shop, The Wine Room, and the soon to open downstairs bar/club/lounge is a perfect symbol for all of the wonderful things happening to Jersey City! I have met so many wonderful people there during any day of the week. The warm atmosphere helps to promote a unique and eclectic neighborhood experience. Jeff (The owner) is the perfect Mayor for his blossoming group of corner businesses. The drink specials cant be beat! This is truly one of my all-time favorite venues. This place ROCKS!

One of my favorite places! I met a friend there last week... We just wanted a place for some girl talk, and to enjoy a happy hour crowd. This was the perfect location. It was my friends first time there ... we shared eggplant rollatini and fried calemari -- both delicious and half priced during happy hr! Of course the special Happy Hr. Watermellon Margaritas were so perfect, we had three!!

Recently revisited after a less than stellar first experience. Loved it this time around. I was really impressed with everything I saw / experienced. Apparently they changed some of the managers, but theyve updated their beer selection (craft beer for the win), all of the staff were very friendly, and the food was quite tasty (pierogies). I will definitely be back in the future.

Wow ! I felt so lux and fabulous when I was here for drinks. Try to get to sit at the sofas with tables. Ambiance was super romantic, yet fun for groups to get together. yes the bar snacks, wasabi peas! I would definitely dress up a little more than casual here, just so you can feel little more special! That night I could definitely smell the folks loading up on whiskey!

Went here to enjoy my birthday day this weekend had a horrible time, with all the promotion this place does would of thought they would have better service. I am from NYC and I thought the service there sucked this venue took it to another level. Will Not Go again or advise anyone to enter this establishment.

Be very careful using your credit card to run a tab here! I noticed suspect charges on my card and contacted the manager. He told me for two weeks he was waiting on his accountant to take a look. This turned into not replying to me All! Very shady book keeping! They lost a regular customer.

This place is so trashy. Bouncer told us no sports caps allowed - had to take off our mets hats then we see someone inside wearing a sports cap so we brought it to his attention and he said "its different" but would not explain. We did not want to drink there or spend money there any more

Slow dinner night. The service is really unimpressive. Lots of folks running around...doing seemingly nothing. The staff actually wants to avoid interaction. The food is edible but could be so much better. The manager in duty is standing at the bar socializing and doing nothing. Useless.

Showed up for happy hour 20 min before ending, they were more than happy to make sure our order got in so we could still get our $4 drafts and half price appetizers. The food came quickly and was good. Overall happy with the experience.

I feel like the places is biased, securty Guard tells me I cant wear a hat , I point to a guy wearing a hat, hes said its not the same,that sports hats are not allowed. I go inside I see a person wearing a Toronto Blue Jays hat.

Service wasnt the best. It was a slow night and I had to ask the bartender 4 times for a glass of water and she brought out our wrong order. Prices are responsible but you get what you pay for.
