During a bender, my buddy recommended we try out this little hole in the wall to drink away our Monday evening blues. Though the parking lot was littered with dead chipmunks (not joking, literally) we decided to climb inside this quasi-log cabin reminiscent of "Hot tub Time Machine." Sadly, unlike the film we did not find adventure and shenanigans inside. What we found was a wait staff that seemed to be in way over their heads. The one bartender, who resembled a blonde version of Morticia from Adams family, appeared to be running the show. Her dislike of the other two bartenders was clear as she mumbled under her breath ad nauseum. She made excuse after excuse as some in our party waited over 20,minutes for their first drink. Were we not parched and weary from our travels we may have just walked out..but once our tabs were established, we were locked in. Fast forward through an hour of hellish service by Morticia and two zombie cast members of Walking Dead, it was time to leave. Apparently in the hullabaloo of a Monday night, our three tabs became confusing and our drink orders were mixed up worse than a 6,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. I think I watched Morticia yell at her coworker no fewer than three times while we were there. The rest of the kitchen staff I had the misfortune of setting my eyes on also appeared to be members of the undead and I began to question if Id ever leave the Plumstead Grill alive..I called my wife and said goodbye to my children. Thankfully, I escaped with my life. Which is more than I can say for the poor chipmunks. My guess is Alvin and his buddies died of thirst inside the Plumstead Grill.

Overall, a much needed casual restaurant for the area. The area does need a quality, relaxing place such as this but the prices were indeed a few dollars in excess of what many will want to pay including me. Id rather see prices 2-3 dollars less per dining and Id go more frequently instead of just occasionally. Soup(Cream of Mushroom) was excellent home made, house salad was hearty, dressing (Blue Cheese) was scrumptous. Lamb chops were tasty (not quite cooked to medium as requested-more rare), shrimp parmesian (over penne) was a really nice portion (asked for more sauce for served amount). Ambiance was nice but not elaborate. Nice stone fireplace. One drawback-music-TOO LOUD-even after asking for a lowering of the sound-we were right under the speaker although location would not have made a big difference. Waiter service was good, accomodating, friendly but not overly attentive. Not a bad first experience. Will try again soon, but Im saying a lower price will attract more of us financially better off 25,000 senior citizens from Manchester (excluding the Whiting area) because we eat out more frequently and dont wish to spend $50 for a meal per couple 3-4 times a week, each and every week.

This place is overrated. Food is average and service is terrible. Ive gone a few times as my in-laws live close. The first time they wouldnt seat us until our entire party arrived, even though half the restaurant was empty. Instead, 8 of us had to stand awkwardly in the entryway for the 10 minutes it took the last couple to arrive. When we ordered, my husband got his cheeseburger with cheese on the side....seriously? The waitress said they forgot the cheese, "but we can melt it if you want." Another time we went, my fish sandwich was missing the tartar sauce. It took a literal 25 minutes and asking 3 times for a server to bring the sauce. Every time you ask for something, the servers roll their eyes and act like they are doing you a huge favor. I dont plan to ever go back. With so many other great restaurants, dont waste your time here.

Very disappointed. Heard many good things about this place and it really let me down. Started the meal with a soup which was great. Then we got a potato skin appetizer which came out cold. We sent it back ivy to get the same appetizer back just microwaved. You could taste how it was microwaved. I got the chicken Parm and my girlfriend got the campaign chicken. The chicken Parm had not business being on that menu. If you are looking for an Italian taste this isnt it. The campaign chicken was good. Service was not great. Bathrooms were over flowing. I wrote this review as we are trying to find our server who hasnt been to our table in 20 minuets. All we need is the check so we can leave. The neglect gave me enough time to inform others while I sit in their restaurant.

We used to come here often and enjoyed our experience; however, we took the family there for Mothers Day lunch, and 4 of 6 of us were disappointed with our meals. I ordered the Champagne Chicken, and my boyfriend ordered Chicken Francaise. The texture of the chicken was rubbery and possibly frozen and/or microwaved. The pasta and asparagus were over cooked and mushy. The bisque was very salty and pasty, not creamy. My kid enjoyed his chicken fingers and the one who ordered the filet mignon said it was good. The atmosphere is very nice and decent service, but the food was so bad, we wont be going back.

The food was excellent and large portions. Each menu item we ordered was large enough to feed two people. The prices were high at first look but when you get your food you see why. I was able to bring home my food and have it again the next day for dinner. The only downside was how attentive our wait staff was. We had waters in the beginning and I typically drink mine fast. I wasnt offered anymore to drink the rest of the night until I asked for more towards the end of my meal. All in all the experience was good. The atmosphere was very homey and the food was great. Id go back again.

Usually have no problem dining here, but on Sunday night our service was so poor. We waited 20 minutes before the waitress took our order. Then we waited a good 15-20 minutes for the salad to come out. The food came out in a timely manner after the salad. Unfortunately, the scallops had shells on it. I cant really blame the waitress for the service because I believe her station was too large. It was my husbands birthday and I was hoping for a much more enjoyable dinner. Usually we dont have any problems, but I dont know what happened this night!!!

Food was very good. I had the cheddar burger special. Cooked to my request lots of fried onions, served with delishious onion rings. My girlfriend had the Plumsted which came with a large portion of fries. Both were very good. Service was a little backed up as we sat at booth in the bar and the bartender had a full bar and lots of tables so it was hard for her to keep up. The food still came out fast as the wait staff chipped in. We only had to wait for our check to be picked up. I would recommend this place for casual dining;

Excellent food great atmosphere, and fast service. Started with Cajun tuna bites awesome, definitely recommend. I had the filet mignon topped with lump crabmeat and bernaise sauce, awesome, and cooked the way I ordered it. My girlfriend had the stuffed porkchops, they were more like turkey legs (huge) she managed to eat about 34 of one of them, she loved it. Prices are fair for the portions. Would definitely recommend. Hats off to the owners and the entire staff for creating an enjoyable atmosphere and a great dining experience.
