I give it a 5 star for the value of the food and service. Their lunch specials are $8.95 and you get tasty meat, rice, and papadam with Fast and FRIENDLY service. I found the quality of food at dinner time is a bit better than lunch specials- and, again, the dinner food is priced a tiny bit higher. Yes, there can be variation in taste visit to visit, but overall the food tastes good and is healthy. Also, the sauces are thick and not watered down like some of their competitors. For what the restaurant offers, I think it is fairly priced.

My husband and I ate here at least once a week (and sometimes twice!) when we lived in the area. The food was always delicious, and the owner and employees were very friendly from our very first visit. I have never had chicken korma or chicken tikka masala as delicious, and Ive tried a lot of places! And their samosas are absolutely fantastic. Even the pappadam with coriander chutney hits the spot. We had their take out, and we dined in --- every time it was the same: friendly service and great food. How I do miss Taste of India.

Needless to say, the staff were very nice and courteous but overall, we were not impressed with the food. The chicken was too dry and the curry barely had anything in it. Worst of all, it tasted very bland. Weve been to Shalimar in Portsmouth as well as Tulsi in Kittery. Not to mention the price overall was high for the food you receive. I have people that are Indian and told me this place is not exactly the place they recommend. If youve been here in the past, I would definitely check out other areas to compare.

What a great find. The chicken vindaloo was spicy and a very generous portion. The garlic naan was made with fresh garlic, not powdered or minced. It had a wonderful roast garlic taste. The vegetable pakora was a good starter for the meal. A nice decor and a very friendly staff made this an excellent eating experience. The portions were so generous, two of us shared a meal and were both well-sated. Overall, the three dishes and one iced tea came to about $24. Shared, that was $12/person.

They dont even deserve to be rated for Indian food. It’s not Indian food at all, had really bad experience. Veg korma and Chicken bhuna was pathetic. I really had to explain the server about dal makhni the way we get it in India. It’s made with black lentil and clarified butter and with specific spices. They don’t even know the difference between black and yellow lentil. I will not recommend this place. For me its waste of India. BIG NO

Ive been here again, and again, and again. That should tell you what you need to know. The décor is basic, but the food is great. Go for the food. The service is fantastic as well. They keep filling those water glasses over and over, thank you very much. My favorite dish is chicken khorma. But weve tried a good portion of the menu, and it is all just delicious. Delicious.

i think that the positive reviews are fake. The food is sub mediocre at best. I am an Indian and i know what indian food is... what they serve here.. is not. Who puts broccoli in biryani!!! And prices... man... its as if they try to get as much as possible from anyone who comes in cause who knows when the next customer would show up... not cool man... not cool.

Taste of India is an affordable Indian restaurant with friendly staff and very good food. If youre hesitant, try the Sunday Buffet. Its worth the price and more. Youll get a taste of many of their offerings. Order from mild to hot. I dont like spicy and they accommodate me just fine. Ive been going there for more than 10 years and Ive never been disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant twice. the first time the fodd was strictly OK. the second time the food was stale. On the top of it the owner was without any remorse or guilt. I could know as i have eaten Indian food all my life. Also I dont want any body to judge indian food/ culture based on just there experience to "Taste of India".

I ordered for Lamb biryani & Chicken pakora for takeout. I would give a ZERO start for the food. I have never seen a biryani without biryani spices, and the taste was awful, I had to throw the food out. Waste of money! I would recommend every one I know NOT to go here. Spoiled the taste of Great Indian Food.

Great food, great service. I think most of the bad reviews here are from people who dont understand Indian food. Ive eaten Indian food from here to Japan to India and this place is easily in the top ten. Some of the reviews here are almost embarrassing in their ethnocentriciy. Try it and judge for yourself.

I am not an Indian so I got no clue if this place has authentic Indian food or not. But just as a eater I will rate it for 5 stars; I LOVE their lamb korma, it has the taste of curry, but more creamy. The garlic bread is good as well. The owner is very friendly, overall a very good restaurant.

Been going here for a few years. Love this place, and the price isnt to bad, great food. Sometimes the way things are made gets changed in a slight way. You wouldnt notice unless you went there enough. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. But really I have no complaints about this place.

I have eaten several times and for the mist part have had good meals. Last time I went there, I asked for my food mildly spiced. It was so hot I could only eat 2 mouth fulls.. I told the waiter it was was over spiced and he laughed at me. I got up and left and will never return.

This place rules! Vegetarian? NO PROBLEM! Carnivore? COME ON IN!! Family run with a cozy atmosphere. My favorites are the potato saag, chicken josh, the lamb curry, veggie curry, and the rice pudding is PERFECT to wrap up a feed of curry :-):-)

The food was good, I had a cheese pakora and a chicken pakora platter, but I had to come back a day later because they closed 30 minutes early for lunch. The place is very spartan looking, the prices are average: its solid but not great.

Honestly, the food was not good, and was far too expensive. I ordered the chicken curry and it was basically some chicken in a spicy tomato soup. And they included some Indian version of chips and salsa, which was very strange.

Id call it mediocre Indian food. Ive had far better, but Ive also had much worse. If you want a nice hot dinner at a reasonable price that tastes like what most Americans expect Indian food to taste like, then youll be pleased.

Friendly staff, delicious food, interior could use some updating but its still a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. We will be back and we would recommend for anyone looking for an Indian food experience in Dover, NH.

Great food, in this family run and family friendly restaurant. You always feel like a valued guest. The food is top notch with your target Indian menu in place. The atmosphere is basic, but does not detract from the food.
