This was our first and possibly last time visiting Black Mountain Grill. My husband and I ate there today, and although the culinary effort was made, the technical skill was lacking. I ordered a pretzel hamburger, and half of the hamburger was raw inside and half the burger was cooked completely through. I had asked for a medium burger with the meat just a little pink in the middle. My husband ordered a white pizza, and he got broccoli and non-caramelized onions on top of what should have been a...wait for it...white pizza. The server was kind and did well, the atmosphere was good, but the food was way overpriced and failed technically.

Food is okay. The late night menu is "eat in only". As to why they charge some customers more and others less? Its beyond me. As I waited for my "carry out" food. I decided to order a drink. The bartender was short with me and unfriendly, not a positive thing about him from the time my girlfriend and I entered the door. One star for food quality and one star for attentiveness to drink orders. The atmosphere was ruined by employee attitude, really. There are plenty of other places with friendly and attentive wait staff around this area that deserve the business more than Black Mountain Grill.

There was only one other person eating so it was really slow. When we came in the waitress seated us then waited about 20 minutes to bring out our coffee and drinks. While we were ordering an elderly couple came in and sat next to us and were handed menus. After a few minutes they ordered as well. Not only did they receive their food first but they were finished before we even got our food. It took over 40 minutes to even get our food to the table. Deffinately would not reccomend this place... food was ok but the service was lacking.

Very poor rating here. Weekend bar man short change artist, and adds items on the bill you didnt order and never got. I suspect he pockets a lot of money that way. We wont ever go back. Be WARNED! As for the regular restaurant service, the food is okay but you need a cup of coffee to stay awake the hours it seems to take to get any service. SLOW? Doesnt begin to describe it. Again: check you bill for "accuracy". Clip joint? Maybe, maybe not. But the weekend bar guy: oh yeah! Total rip off artist, in my opinion.

Service was good. Food wasnt anything to write home about. We ordered a mixed grill plate to share and I have to say I would NOT pay full price for what we received. I felt that the restaurant was trying pretty hard to be more upscale, but the food was lacking. Grilled chicken breasts were absolutely tasteless, and the steak was a little burned. On the plus side, the bread reminded me of the breadsticks at Olive Garden. Other than that, I am glad we had a Groupon to here and didnt pay full price.

We usually go for weeekend breakfast at the bar, this trip on Labor Day may be our last.. too bad seems service and quality of food has become less important everywhere lately and it shows. Food was ok ,service was definetly lacking maybe the bartender was hungover... one lady walked in a finally left she got tired of waiting for a drink, The radio was stuck on some static they couldnt seem to fix too, that added to the experience. Time to cross another one off the list ??

The lodge atmosphere is pretty nice. The tables have plenty of room. They tried really hard to be creative with the menu, but the food is just OK. The menu descriptions are better than the end results. My pizza was rather bland. The food was over priced for the quality.

Great atmosphere, havent had problems with it being too smoky, food very food, beer is cold, what else do you need? Bonus points, my wife likes it too... Just a few places around here that meet that standard.

Loved the cowboy steak here and I ordered a sundae dessert which consists of brownies , cookies, ice cream, whip cream and fudge. The server warned me its a lot , he was right but it was a lot of good too.

Good food, seasoning was a bit saltier than I would like. Nice atmosphere, low light (probably good for a romantic dinner) short menu, straight to the point. I loved their pizzas!
